Muhammad Ali and George Foreman for their entertainment value

<----Can count on 1 hand how many boxing matches I've seen.

You've never heard of Muhammed Ali?

I loved him but he had a powder cake punch and barely won a bunch of fights in a bad field of heavy weights

In no particular order.

Mike Tyson. The man was absolutely frightening in the ring.

Muhammad Ali. Saw him box a few times. It was like watching a master with a student.

Rocky Marciano. Never saw him box live, but... wow. Only undefeated heavyweight champ. Retired with a 49-0 record.

And off the list but honourable mention to Evander Holyfield.

1) Muhammad Ali, Three time Heavy Weight Champ. Due to his anti war stance did not fight during his prime for almost four years. The three fights with Joe Frazier were the best I have ever seen. Neither man was the same after Ali Frazier I.

2) Rocky Marciano, as others have stated he went undefeated.

3) Joe Louis.

Honorable Mention. James J. Bradock.

Mike Tyson could have been the greatest of all time. He allowed himself to be steered by Don King and others. What a waste of talent.

I will admit he did not have a devastating knock out punch but I've never heard that one about Mohammad Ali's era. Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier and George Foreman on many sites are ranked among the top 10 of all time and have faced Ali in the ring. There were also some other tough fighters in Larry Holmes, Earnie Shavers, Ken Norton and Floyd Patterson. I'm one to say the heavy weight division has never been the same since then.

Now I will give you it that Mike Tyson could have been the best heavyweight fighter in history. He was fast, he was strong, and he had a devastating knock out punch that was lights out when connected. But his body of work over just 3 years is not enough for me to even list him among the all-time greats. Perhaps the top of the list with could of should of's. Just my humble opinion. :goodvibes

Trying to compare fighters from different eras is very difficult. The size of the heavyweights have gotten larger every decade. My top three are:

1) Joe Louis
2) Muhammad Ali
3) Larry Holmes

Current heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and his retired former champion brother, Vitali Klitschko, are under rated champs because it's said that the heavyweight division has been week during their reigns. They are also overlooked, in my opinion, because they aren't from the USA. One is 6' 6" and the other is 6' 7" and both weigh close to 250 pounds. They are athletic with great punches. I'm not sure if Ali, Louis or Holmes could have beaten these brothers. It was said Joe Louis fought the "bum of the month"

Boxing isn't as popular as it was, so most people don't know who the Klitschko's are or have seen them box. They drew and do draw very large crowds in Europe.

I'm pretty sure there's a documentary about them on Netflix right now

Tell Floyd, Ernie, Joe and George about that powder cake punch.
And imagine if Ali was allowed to fight in what should have been his prime.
