Hey there every one, I am completely rewriting this trip report. I didn't know anything the first time, I cut right to the chase last time, cause I thought who really wants a long drawn out story with personal thoughts and side notes. THen I read others, and wow, I knew then my trip report was not disboard worthy,:worship: I didn't even have pictures, so I deleted everything I had and will start anew. I am not going to use the cutenicknames, although I do lovingly refer to the husband as the Ogre, but the names suites him.

so here we go, I will start with me,
aaaa.jpg

My name is Ty, I am 30ish, a loving wife and mother of 2 teens, I am a small business owner, I love dogs ( I have 3) I enjoy long walks on the beach, fuzzy dice in the mirror and men who aren't afraid to cry... oh wait that is a completely different subject there, so back to Disney. I have always wanted to go to Disney world. My Dad is a retired 1st sgt from the army, I spent the majority of my teenage life over seas. I lived in Dexheim Germany, Worms Germany and Schwabach Germany. When we were living state side, our family vacations were always spent at our home of record. CooleyLake, Michigan I loved seeing my Grandma and Papa, but more than anything I wanted to go to Disney. My parents always said it cost too much, or we didn't have enough vacation time for everything, so I had to settle for the Paul Bunyan every July, a small fair, it had rides but no Mouse. I did visit Europa park while we lived in Germany, they had a mouse, he was no Mickey, there wasn't a castle, they even had their version of it's a small world but without the water. I also went to Phantasia land and Holiday Park, the rides are awesome, but without Mickey and the gang there is no magic pixiedust:
I am in no ways complaining here, I had a fun filled childhood, but there was always the dream of going to Disney at the back of my mind. Fast forward some years, I moved to Cocoa Beach Fl. to live with my aunt and my uncle, who worked mission control for Nasa, cool huh? Did I make it to Disney? No, I did not, I went to Busch Gardens, and Boardwalk and Baseball, the closest I made it to Disney world was Epcot, It didn't in any way feel Disneylike at all. Skip forward 2 more years, I am a gorgeous young Bride, really I'm not full of myself, who isn't gorgeous on their wedding day? The beast I married moved me to Riverside Ca. :wave2: "Bye Mom, Bye Dad, don't worry about me I'm going to Disneyland." or so I thought, we went to Knotts Berry Farm and Magic Mountain, when I asked for Disneyland the Beast said "That's for kids."
I was only 18, I still felt like a kid. So I figured I'd have to wait till I had kids of my own. So 6 years and 2 kids later I found myself divorced and living at home with mom and dad. That only lasted 6 months.
Enter DH, my knight in shining armor, Kent.

I love this pic of him, he wasn't speeding, he was bump drafting, or was he trying to get back on the lead lap I can't remember. But anyway he wisked me and the kids away to Pa. I talked about Disney again, but we figured like my own parents it would be too costly, and with attorney fees for a great
divorce lawyer and again for a custody lawer down the road we knew it wouldn't be possible. We did go to Hershey Park, and Cedar Point but again, no castle, no mouse no magic. Now years and years later, both Kent and I are self employed, we own a house, we have newer vehicles that work all the time, not just when they feel like it. I ask Kent, "can we go on a real vacation now?" Kent says "yes... Book a cruise." Yah, I know! A cruise? :confused3 But I figure it's his vacation too, so I book a 4 night 5 day cruise to Bermuda, months later it's all paid for but the beast of an ex won't allow the kids to leave the country, even though I let him take the kids to Mexico the year before, I could go on about him forever and a day, but that is for a different forum. Anywhooo we had to cancel the cruise and find somthing in this wonderful United States, I suggest Disney, Kent agrees. :lovestruc I love that man. So I call My agent at Boscovs, Ella. I tell her the beast is a big fat meany head (my daughters favorite name to call people when she was 3) Ella stepped up to the plate and delivered us a vacation to die for, 5 nights 6 days at Pop Century, Magic your way park hopper plus and the dining plan, and... and... it was 400$ less than the cruise, more bang for the buck. All of this was done while the kids were at school. I really thought they would be surprised, cause neither one of them seemed excited about the cruise, but this is Disney... DISNEY!

This is my DS he's 15, we call him Jim, he would want me to tell you that he will be famous one day. He plays guitar and has started a garage band "Hunters yet Hunted" with that being said I can move on. WHen we told Jim about Disney he said "cool". Jim is a typical boy, I never know what he's thinking, did he mean cool as in yeah, that is cool, or cool as in whatever you say. So I ask him, "just how cool is it?" He says cool as in I get to miss more school cool, I don't care where we go." I felt let down a little, I guess it was asking to much for him to jump up and down with excitement about it. But there's always my DD.

DD Reese, soon to be 13 a girl in every way, spender of her Dear Daddies money, she's all about having fun, she cheers for her school as well as a competition squad, and has now added track and field to her list of things that I will have to drive her to.
I knew Reese would not let me down. So I wait for her to come in, she hangs at the bus stop to talk to her friends like she hasn't seen enough of them through out the day. I finally yell for her to come home. she enters the house with attitude. "What is the panic, Mom?" I'm too excited to tell her to check the attitude at the door, beside once I tell her we're going to Disney she will forget all about her friends and anounce me her new best friend. "Guess what?" (blank stare coming from her) WE...ARE...GOING...TO...DISNEYWORLD! Can you believe it Reese? Disneyworld!! She still stares at me blankly, then the child asks me, "Is this before or after our cruise?" "It's instead of." I tell her. "Oh." that is all she said "Oh." What is wrong with these kids? I am freaking out with excitement, doing back flips off the wall. What is wrong with them? So I explain in the nicest way possible why we can't go on the cruise. That's when they got excited, but it was more of an excitement like "We will show "father" and his wicked new wife that they can't ruin our vacation, we will have even more fun then if we went on a cruise." So it was excitement in spite of... and I will gladly accept that.

Yeah, ya see this is going to be really embarassing if no body reads or posts. It looks like I wrote it months ago and it sat there getting stale. Well actually it did get stale, but now I am puter savy, I can include pics, so I did. I will now wait...........:rolleyes1

HEY! You are off to a great start. Don't worry about people reading. I just finished up my TR and while I didn't have many people post, I did have a great time writing and reliving the trip. Just keep writing...they will come.

I really like what you've written so far, and good job on including pics. I need to get some things done before going to bed tonight, but I'll check by in tomorrow and post some more. I have a bunch of questions I just have to ask you, after getting to know you on my thread and then reading what you've posted here.

Talk to you soon and keep posting!!!

Thank you for the encouraging words. BTW love the whole sharkb8 sn, that's really cute. This particular report is from our trip we took last April, but I am going again Dec5th-11th 2007

thanks for reading

Hehehe, you're son is a year younger than my brother and I (we are twins), and my little sister is 11, and when we were told we were going to a Disney park last year, we all jumped to the heavens. Then we were told we were going to Tokyo Disneyland, and we died and went to heaven! I guess we (my family) always had that Disney magic, though I've only been to WDW 3 times (Last time in Jan (first in 6 years)), and I was so anxious to go, I paid my way there! I'm happy to know that you finally got to go to Disney (But to hear that you visited Europa Park, Holiday Park and Phantasialand makes me kind of jelous because I'm a coaster enthusiest).

Disneyland Tokyo!? You are a lucky one, to be going to Tokyo wow, and to just have a family that feels the magic. pixiedust: I went to your rollercoaster link, to say you are an enthusiest is a bit of an under statement. I love roller coasters as well. I would say Cedar Point in Ohio is great for roller coasters, although I chickened out and did not ride the dragster :crazy2:

Oh thanks. I haven't been to Cedar Point yet. But if TTD is anything like Kingda Ka, it's not that great. Also, we went to Japan thanks to Disney. My sister got a wish from Make A Wish, and she was in a dilema. It as either Disneyland Paris, or Tokyo Disneyland. And yes, the magic is in my family. My aunt (mom's side of the family) is a mod here on Dis. Her name is Baloo. And my uncle (on my dad's side of the family) is a mod over in disABILITIES, CheshireFigment.

EDIT: 300th post! It only took 4 years;)

Hey SpaceMountain,

I would love to hear how Disney in Tokyo compares to Disney in the U.S.

Out of all the coasters you have ridden, which one is your all time favorite?
