Three Days later DD has a new room (pics)

This room is almost identical to my dd previous room. We did all that work and one month later DH came home and said we were being transferred. The very first thing I thought about was all the hard work I had just done in DD room. Oh well.

For the circles, we also traced around three different sized items onto poster board. Then we cut out the circles, threw those away and taped the poster board back together. We then sponged the inside of the circle. They came out great.

Your dd bedroom looks wonderful. My dd "new" bedroom is currently BRIGHT orange with purple book shelves all the way around the room. She loves it!

Oh, I'll have to borrow that idea if I can! My DD also wanted to re-do her room. When we bought this house, her room had been the baby girl's nursery. It was a mid range pink on top, with a border at the chair rail, and green gingham wall paper below. My DD does NOT do pink. And since I couldn't see putting DS (12) into that room, I got her to take it if we'd change it right after Christmas. So far, I've stripped the paper, and put the first coat of white everywhere. DD was wanting to do some abstract designs (think lots of parallel lines) everywhere, but maybe I can get her to go with circles. I just can't see me (or her) having the patience to draw those lines, and I KNOW they'll be crooked.

I have your answer if you ever decide to paint over those walls... Because I had to. Use Kilz Ceiling paint. It works in ONE coat, for the most part. It dries to a near chalky finish and then you can paint over it with a glossy paint, and VIOLA you're done.

The room looks great, btw, any Hidden mickeys?

We used that or something similar to prime parts of the room. She had very light pink paint in there with a much darker ribbon stencil boarder. We primed over the stencil and had to prime over the doors and trim because we were going from an oil based paint there to a water based. I will keep the ceiling paint in mind. Thanks.
