We have reservations for a 3 broomsticks breakfast in December. I thought I had heard at one point that the breakfast was going to be a buffet but I swear that recently I read someone's post about it being a counter service. Can anyone who has actually been there for breakfast clarify what it really is?

Also assuming it is counter service - what type of stuff is on the menu? Typical breakfast foods - anything unusual or that stood out as being really good?

Thanks!

My family ate breakfast at Three Broomsticks last Saturday. Unfortunately, I can't say that it was anything special. We had the English breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage links, English ham, beans, black pudding, potatoes), the salmon breakfast (scrambled eggs, salmon, croissant, cream cheese), and the pancake breakfast (3 buttermilk pancakes, sausage link, bacon). An American breakfast, porridge breakfast, and continental breakfast are offered. Drink choices are pumpkin juice, hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate, apple juice, orange juice, and milk. It is a counter service restaurant. You place your order and then move to another counter to pick up your food. You then either find a table on your own or one of the staffers will show you to a table.

Not a buffet. Plated breakfast on plastic plates. Go for the experience, not the food.

Do you eat in what would be the hogwarts dining hall?

Dosen't sound like a very special place---

I joked with my wife that they shouldn't allow anyone into WWoHP unless we pass a written test based on the books. That's the teacher in me. :goodvibes

As mentioned, 3B is in Hogsmeade, which is a small village outside Hogwarts School (which is located in the castle). It is an Inn that the students and faculty frequented during their trips to Hogwarts. It plays a large part in the Harry Potter books and the attached Hogs Head Pub (also in the village of Hogsmeade, though not attached to 3B in the books) plays a huge part in the final book.

Sounds pretty special to me. Plus, as you are sitting there, certain magical things happen around you throughout your meal if you are paying attention.

Do you still have to wait in an obnoxiously long line if you get an early breakfast reservation?

Also...how does one get a reservations? Is there a number to call? :worship:

When you book your Harry Potter package reservation, they have you make your breakfast reservations. You can't make reservations for breakfast without the package.

So this means I can't reserve a breakfast time without staying at a Universal resort?:confused3

There are packages available at offsite resorts. You have to have a package which involves accommodations and tickets at one of the selected hotels. There are about 15 to choose from.

With only package people being able to make reservations, the restaurant has been booked solid all summer for breakfast. If there are any spaces available you can check with the attendant at the front of the restaurant and they can give you a time. At this time though, you must have a package to make breakfast reservations.

La2Kw: I was only referring to the food--cafeteria style on plastic plates. Nothing special about that..
