I meant to ask around, after I come back from my trip, will anyone my guidebooks? I have way too many...if anyone has one they've had in mind, ask! I probably have it. I don't have this year's Passporter, or Unofficial Guide, but I do have Frommers, Fodors, Complete Idiots, and many more. I don't need this many and would love to give them a good home!

I would love to borrow one or two of your books! :goodvibes I'm all about learning all I can before we go! Although I am finding I learn way more from the board and you ladies! Is the Complete Idiots Guide any good? The title sounds like it would be a good fit for me this time around! :rotfl:

Ev, the first book in the Meyer series is called Twilight.

Thanks for the book name. I have the 2008 Passporter and Unoffical Guide so between us we have the full set.

Alecia, you don't need to borrow my books...you can have them! I swear I have most of the info memorized!

Ev, how many parties do you have? So every Canadian citizen has to go out now and vote for new MPs? Who are you electing? This is fascinating! You know, I spent my summers in Vancouver and I never even thought about how different your government is. Although I did visit some stately looking buildings in Victoria!

Isn't it funny how the thought of the thread ending is getting our collective panties in a bunch?

Pepper, welcome back! We've had some issues with kids here and there, but for the most part, you're already caught up!

Ok here's the (embarassing) list of books for adoption:
1) Fodor's WDW Guide 2008
2) Hassle-Free WDW Vacation by Steve Barrett
3) Complete Idiot's Guide to WDW
4) The Luxury Guide to WDW Resort by Cara Goldsbury
5) Birnbaum 2008

Magikitty-you are too sweet! I'll look those books up and see what one looks the most interesting to me! Thanks!!

I think all of you could probably get together and write your own book on how to do Disney!

See any books you like? You can have first choice!

If I were to. write a book about Disney it would be about the funny misadventures of me and my BF: the Wheelchair chronicles. Our mantra: Do No Harm

Evening.

I'll post the list in a little bit. Maybe an hour or so. :goodvibes

MagiKitty, once we decide on a name, you could always start the new one before you leave. And I think you could pm a mod and ask them to lock the old one before they do it themselves.

Impressive list of books. I don't think I've bought any for this year. I kind of got addicted to buying every book I could 2 years ago. Right now, I'm looking at a couple from Amazon that I haven't seen in any bookstores.

pepper-nice to see you. Glad to see you're feeling better. Get your vote in soon!

Edited to remove my words from BKMETV's quote box ha ha (I typed after her quote oops)

M&N: "Chatty?" That describes me to to a tee!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: Before my trip that you saw is the quieted message board Mimi. :rotfl2: I am known for being slightly silly and chatty in the "real" world. And now that thyroid medicine is starting to kick in...WATCH OUT!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, speaking of "serial books" I like the ghost stories by Heather Grahm. Not really a series, but they all have the characters from the first book "GhostWalk" in them at some point.

Since there are no new Heather Grahm books right now, I am reading the last book in the three part series by Roxanne St. Claire "First you Run" book 1 "Then you Hide" book 2 "Now you die" book 3 (started 3 tonight)

If any of you want to read them when I am done with the last book let me know and I will be happy to send them on. I have TONS of books that I would be happy to share as a matter of fact. Better someone reading them then to have them sitting around my house collecting dust.

I have to say I probably did enjoy it enough for you all...drinking wine on the deck while someone else makes dinner is hard to beat :thumbsup2
Okay, I am getting there, trying to catch up:

[QUOTE/]Thanks for clearing up the Roomba thing...can't say I've ever heard of them. I won't mention it to DH he might suggest buying one and getting rid of my cleaning lady. :scared1:

We got a cleaning lady too!!! ME! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I need to figure out best way for us to get to Wilderness Lodge also. We are doing the Hoop De Doo Revue.

Oh, and Puny loves the party you are about to throw. Rum and pirates. Doesn't get better than that for him.pirate: :lmao:

THREE DAYS!!!!!!!!!

Kim will correct me if I am wrong, but it seems the quickest way to Hoop Dee Doo (LOVED IT BTW!!!!) would be to take a bus to the main entrance of FW then take the purple settlement bus.

Tell PUNY I will take lots of pics for him. We are going to have lots of cool pirate gear: Beads, coins, RUM, Hats etc...The Rum guy is bringing it all. I am looking forward to it. Actually I am looking forward to this party being planned and done. It is crazy lol. Thank goodness I have a whole committee behind me that totally rocks!!!

Magikitty- 6 days!!!!!!!!! Alas, my countdown has begun again. We are talking about Vegas in June for DS 21st birthday and DD's graduation...we'll see though. I just don't think an 18 year old will have fun there. BTW, how did you like that Disney Transportation link I sent you? I love that thing!!!

MagiKitty---was I the one who confuzzed you about voting? I was talking about voting for the thread name and then Racetrack said she wasn't registered and it went from there. Maybe that's what it was? If you do the new one tonight, you can start the new one, and put the link for this one like you did the last time. Then come back here and post the new link and ask to get it closed like racetrack said. Then you can be the Killer this time. :yay:
Hey EV, Alecia and Pepper---

You know, I spent my summers in Vancouver and I never even thought about how different your government is. Although I did visit some stately looking buildings in Victoria!

There are 308 seats available in parliament...right now 127 are Conservative Party, 95 are Liberal Party, 48 Bloc Quebecois (the party that wants Quebec to separate), 30 National Democratic Party, 4 independent and 4 are vacant.

And yes we're all voting new MPs sometime this fall...I'm not sure when election day is.

Not sure how I'll vote yet...I'll see who has the best platform I guess. There's really not much of a difference between the two main parties anyways.

Hi M&N! :goodvibes

I'm counting down my computer minutes time....DH is due home from soccer practice with DS6 any minute now. That will probably put the kabash on my time..maybe not though. :)

Magikitty-I will try to look up those books tonight and see which ones look good for my crazy families trip!

M&N...I was confused about voting in Canada. Apparently they can just dissolve Parliament when someone decides another election may have a different outcome..

Ev, so are the seats in Parliament determined by population? I think I may have to go to Wikipedia about this....

Ok, I have more packing/errands/necessities to do. I'll check back later. Maybe we'll have to start the new thread tonight!

We have so many teacher types here I just have to share this joke I got...
A guy goes to the supermarket and notices an attractive woman waving at him.
She says hello. He's rather taken back because he can't place where he knows her from. So he says, 'Do you know me?'
To which she replies, 'I think you're the father of one of my kids.'
Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says, 'My God, are you the stripper from my bachelor party that I made love to on the pool table with all my buddies watching while your partner whipped my butt with wet celery?'
She looks into his eyes and says calmly, 'No, I'm your son's teacher.’
:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl::lmao: :rotfl::lmao: :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Nearly wet myself on this one!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

WHEW!!! I am getting there...my neck is starting to hurt ha ha.

Was is D&D or Disney54 that had the bully? I multi'ed it last time but lost it..anyway, what is the latest? Have you heard from the brat...er I mean boy any more?

WHGRN: Maybe in addition to M&N's great advice, you should call his parents. I bet they don't know he has gone a little phone happy.

I have no kids either but know something has to happen. Does he call the house phone? You need to answer and explain to him that DD has school now and needs to concentrate on that. Tell him you are sure he understands that school is very important and she cannot be distracted. Tell him your rules are calls are allowed only on Sat (or Sun) and give a time limit. If you have an amswering machine, let that answer and find out who is calling before you answer. Or you try and answer when you think it's him and say she's busy and is not allowed to talk. If he calls on her cell, you give the speech and just tell her not to answer his calls except when you said he could call. Thankfully, she agrees it's too much.

:

I agree with your advice. :)

ssshhhh....I'm trying to pack...don't distract me....talk amongst youselves....:rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao:

It's Ok whgrn! We still love you!

:lovestruc :lovestruc OF COURSE WE DO!!! :thumbsup2

OMG:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I've KILLED the Thread Killers!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I posted last, at 5:13pm. Now it's 2.5 hours later, and no one has posted.:scared1: And it's EVENING!:scared1: :scared1:

I'm sorry. So very sorry...

What Pikster said....:lovestruc

Evening All

whgrn - You would think that this boy's parents might be concerned about their long distance bill as well. Do they know that he call cross-country daily?

Ah, you beat me to it lol. Oh well too lazy to edit...did I mention my neck hurts? ha ha

I'll write small too. I think I scared everyone away. Quite a few were on here when I decided to post. Then they all disappeared. It's all my fault.

I know I should register. I follow everything enough. I will do it. That is my goal for this year. Maybe when I "finally" change my name to DH's, I'll register to vote (you can do that right?).

I'll never forget 9/11 either. It was the most horrible thing I had ever seen. DD12 had afternoon kindergarten and I woke up to see what was going on. My whole morning was spent alternating phone calls to my dad and DH. Dad to find out all the info I could. DH just because I wanted him to come home. His office was in Philly but he was out on a job in Poconos. They didn't think he was at risk, so he had to work most of the day while everyone else got sent home. That kind of made me see his former company different.

I still get a lump in my throat when I think about 9/11. I am extremely sensitive anyway, and the thought of all those wonderful, beautiful human lives lost nearly put me over the edge. The more I thought about their families the worse I got. I am sure I was not alone though. I think the whole country felt that way. See??:sad1: I'm getting sad now. :sad1:

My office mate is a 9/11 hero (not sure if I mentioned it) she was in the Coast Guard at the time and was one of the first responders. She does not like to talk about it so I don't ask. I have been trying to think of something to get her on Thursday that would not be too over the top but just a "token" that I appreciate her. Any ideas?

whgrn....good for your DS trying out for choir! Sometimes it just takes a little interest to change your life.

Guess what....BF FOUND his wallet last night. It was under his couch. He swears he looked under there when he first noticed it was missing. With a flashlight. It must have just showed up. Yeah, right.

I am, for the most part, packed. I have packed my unmentionables, my socks, toiletries, hat, poncho, sneakers. I have two shirts and a pair of capris too, but the clothes aren't done yet. That's always the difficult part. My books came in yesterday and I don't know which one to bring with me!

Turns out tryouts are tomorrow. Today was just informational. So he's been practicing "A Hard Days Night" for the audition. I pray he gets it. Probably will--not too many boys try out.

Great that BF found his wallet! And I'm glad to see you're finally packing! Too funny about the books. I think I bought 8 for Scotland!!

Pepper-you are such a kind heart! I think getting your office mate a small token is great idea! Maybe just a simple thank you card or a coffee or something like that? I never know what to get people....it seems like the idea just has to hit me.

I WAS going to say...Disney54us, sounds like a great morning you had there. When you mentioned Wegman's upstairs....I got to thinking, where are you? Are you in Rochester? That's the only two floored Wegmans I've ever seen! Its gorgeous!

We have a 2 story Wegmans here too! LOVE it!

M&N...I was confused about voting in Canada. Apparently they can just dissolve Parliament when someone decides another election may have a different outcome..

Ev, so are the seats in Parliament determined by population? I think I may have to go to Wikipedia about this....
QUOTE]

Yes it's "representation by population"...I'm having flashbacks to High School history class!! ;)

You ladies are all making me wonder if I am registered to vote?? :confused3 I'm pretty sure that I am. I know when I lived in ND, we didn't have to register, you just went and voted. I'm positive though that I registered here in IA right when we moved here. I better get "with it" on the issues and candidates so I know what I'm doing!

Has anyone ever done the customized map thing on the WDW.com website? Mine just shipped, so I'm excited to see what they will be like!

You should only have to register to vote once, unless you move. So if you registerd when you moved to IA, you should be ok. But do check to make sure!

I got the customized maps last year when we went. No big deal.

whgrn-Good luck to your DS! A Hard Day's Night huh? That's GREAT! Sounds like there is good music at your house tonight! :)
