Thread Killers Untied! (no Tker left behind...)

http://www.daytonausa.com/ says track tour is 30 min. Seemed longer. We had to wait in line for the next tour because the tram was full. The IMAX movie is 45 min. There's also a Pit stop challenge DH would probably want to do. That's every hour. There's some kind of simulation in the back you can drive for extra $. Plus you have displays to see. It depends how muh you are in to that...I enjoyed it a lot. And let's not forget the gift shop! You can buy a picture of you beside this year's Daytona 500 car too. I'm not sure if you can get discounts there or not. Maybe AAA.

Well, I cannot/will not drive by myself so I have to fly. I think I can get a friend to take me to the airport so I can save on parking.

Monkeyboy is getting stranger. Why didn't you post on the gas thread?

Ok, I set aside 5 hours for Daytona. That should give us enough time to see most of it. I really want to take the track tour and see the museum. Everything else will be icing on the cake.

The only non-stop flights from here take us into Sanford which just adds another expense. And if we fly out of Philly or Newark, we have to pay for parking and/or another hotel room depending on what time the flight leaves. DH does very well if it's a long distance drive. It's when we drive somewhere local that I want to smack him upside his head. :lmao:

2.gif
How did I miss that?

I looked up flying from Phila but til I add gas and parking, I'm not saving anything.

Gotta check out for tonight. Kids have been going to bed earlier which means they will be jumping on my bed earlier.

Catch you in the morning.

Night!!!!

Is Whgrn going to keep posting on her Scotland thread? I had posted and then she responded. My reason for asking is really this: Wouls she be considered a thread killer if she was the last to post on her own thread? We are supposed to help each other from being thread killers. Should one of us post there so she doesn't kill it? Where is the line drawn?
Maybe I should post on the community board and ask if you are a thread killer if you are the last to post on your own thread. But then again, that's too deep for the discussions there tonight. ;)

OOOOPPPPS...I just missed you...I'll say good morning. My computer says it is 12:03 and I know DIS will not be that late....

I know I said I was leaving but what do you mean too deep? You don't think Halloween in Walmart, candles, passing gas, haunted houses and scrapple are serious discussions? At least the scrapple and passing gas threads kind of go together. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Goodnight for real this time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY M&N

HAPPY ANNIVERSAY BOPSMOM

Did I forget anyone?

okay...making the flat TKers wear Crocs....Isn't that a form of abuse???::lmao:
It is so nice to see almost everyone. Not everyone has posted their pics so its good to finally put a name w/ a face.

Shmu - Love that shirt you made.:thumbsup2

Hotel room suite $8.88 ($10 w/ taxes)
Breakfast = free w/ room
Lunches = free (packed from home)
Waterpark tickets = $12 x 4 people = $48 for 2 days of fun
Pizza for dinner at restaurant = $30 and that's w/ a 20% tip
-------------------------------------------------------------
$88 total :cool1: Or, should I say PRICELESS
I was wondering when you would see yourself in the Crocs.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Thanks about the shirt.
Budget weekend sounds fantastic. I am inspired.

Shmu, that shirt is great! You're just so creative. What a wonderful way to bring your Dad with you.
Thanks. I would love to find that same bench but I honostly have no idea where it was. I just know it was in MK somewhere.

I hope ya'll don't mind my rant......
Oh my goodness. I wish I could give you a Great Big Hug.

Shmu: Nice looking shirt!
Thanks.

Shmu- I love your Disney shirt!!
Thanks.

Shmu-I love the shirt. I remember when you had that posted and it was just heartwarming then too.
Thanks. I still remember getting the picture taken.

Love the shirt too!!!1

Update:
I am going to raise DD's allowance. She got a new dresser today-she outgrew her 'baby furniture' long ago, and it took a while to find one to fit. There were clothes and laundry everywhere. She and I did everyone's and folded it too. DH was upset about the mess downstairs and the mess made making way for the dresser-duh....
anyways, she went up to his office while dinner was on the stove and said to DH,
"Dad, what is it going to take for you to realize that having a wife and a child that love you is more important than this house being 'model home' perfect every morning and every night?(he always says he wants to live in a model home-:confused3 )... I know that there is a mess but you don't even consider why it's there and that it is temporary. If you think that this place is so dirty than hire Flor to come more often to clean up or pitch in an do it yourself instead of staying in this office complaining." That's my girl!:goodvibes :cool1: :thumbsup2
Needless to say, DH came very sheepishly to dinner tonight-I think he might have gotten a hint.
Thanks.
Wow, what a wonderful DD you have. I am impressed. Give her a great big hug.

forgot...Shmu: Your shirt is wonderful but I do worry that it'll be wet all the time from the tears all over it when people see the picture.
12.gif
Don't forget we need a pic of you in it at a park.
12.gif
Hope not too wet since it's white and I'm not exactly on the small side.:lmao:
Let's just say I won't be wearing it on Splash Mountain.:rotfl2:

Now instead of just "waddle, waddle, waddle"... I go "waddle, limp, waddle, limp."
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Seriously, take care of yourself.

i
Shmu Like your shirt.
Thanks.

SHMU, Magikitty (and anyone else with the free dining)- Did you guys see this? http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm It is another option for us during free dining. It is basically allowing you to trade a table service for a counter service including two snacks OR a mesh bag. I might try this one day with a TS I am not really excited about (soon as I figure out which one ha ha)
Thanks for sharing. Might actually use this.:thumbsup2

Shmu- LOVED the shirt-you could mass market those and sell them like crazy! What a great idea! I wish I had great pictures like that from when I was little.
Thanks.

Oh and I do not like to iron.
That's why I had a daughter. :lmao: j/k

OK, I'm going to pull a M&N.
I'm just here talking to myself.
LaLaLaLaLa

Can't sleep.
Read the book The Shack.
WOW.
Deep thinking book.
They are calling it The Pilgrim's Progress of our day.

Well, since I'm here all
alone.......
alone........
alone........
Guess I'll try and get some sleep.
Night all.

You girls wear me out! I thought I was tired from the first day of school today, but I think trying to catch up on here took the prize! :) There has been a lot going on!

Shmu- LOVED the shirt-you could mass market those and sell them like crazy! What a great idea! I wish I had great pictures like that from when I was little.

Pikester-my boys are 18 months and 6 1/2. My oldest will turn 7 in Nov. and my youngest will turn 2 right after we get back from WDW. Yay for free airfare for him!! :thumbsup2

Pepper-Have a fun and SAFE trip!! :) :)

Racetrack-thanks for sharing the pics! That cake was way cool and so were the dresses. It looked like the night was a blast!

M&N-Happy Late B-day!! We'll just keep on celebrating! :)

Bopsmom-Happy Anniversary! Must be a good month for that. Ours is this Saturday-we are still in the "minors" though. It's only 5 years for us. Way to go for your DD! That was a great story! Woo hoo! GREAT #14 pic too! I need to send that to my sister who is a Jeffy fan! Hee hee! :)

Magikitty-I very much do NOT like to iron. A great friend introduced me to Downy Wrinkle Release at a conference a couple weeks ago. BEST product ever invented. :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Lighttech-OUCH! That stinks about your toe, especially when you are this close to the end. I had to laugh when you said you found your car seat at your MIL! That is exactly where we found ours when it was lost! I should have though of that earlier!

Whew! I need to hit the sack now! I was up late last night buying our plane tickets for our trip! :yay: :yay: One step closer! I hope everyone has a GREAT Friday!! :)

Thanks!! I will...oh and happy anniversary! I missed the spot where we were telling you about us. Here is me: I am 39 and have been married for 21 years (yea I know lol) We have two awesome "children" Nick is 20 and plays college baseball and Kendall is 17 and is a cheerleader (semi-retired right now lol)

Isn't my siggie spiced up?
This is the 3rd time I've tried to multiquote this page!
I wish I just needed to loose 60. I'm going to make a goal of 25 to start. Will probably have to go back to WW after Labor Day. Whgrn has to be our motivation. :yay:

Who would have thought Aug would be too cold for a water partk? Of course, it's never too cold for DQ! :woohoo:

I'm here. Had to watch Big Brother and call mom to decide when I'm going to her house tomorrow. I need to check on BB thread. Someone usually tells who is loosing the HOH competition. I guess I need to check out monkeyboy too.

Your siggie it TOTALLY spiced up!!! Love it! (even though I have no clue about racing ha ha)

SHMU- :wave2: I didn't want you to be a thread killer!! :scared1: Although I think our thread is safe and sound. :grouphug:

M&N- Okay, my brain really does hurt now with all the Thread Killer talk. :rotfl2:

Racechick- Ha ha...I'm on later than you. :cool1: :cool1:

OHHHHHH!!!! With all the stress I forgot to tell you all our good news...Kendall got a 4 on her Psych AP exam!!! That is out of 5. She was totally excited.

I'm on board with the "need to get some of this stuff off of me" but its going to have to be after Free Dining! :rotfl2: What's your opinion of Weight Watchers? I have a difficult time committing to anything (save us TKers and the Dis), I don't know how keen I'd be on meetings. I really need to learn to love exercise. I don't really eat that bad, but I am a sucker for a baked good.

WW is good, but there's alot of room for error with the points--you aren't really guided to enough fruits, veggies, etc, and you can get points from candy bars! My advice? www.sparkpeople.com !!!! I lOVE it!! Best thing I've ever done. Lots of support, great info, they will give you a food plan or you can design your own. You can input your food, exercise, etc. Plus, you get SparkPoints and can buy SparkGoodies for yourself and your SparkFriends!! My sister just joined and I'm so thrilled! Come on over, we'll treat you right!!

Yup, gonna keep posting! Cause it's my weight loss journal, and that journey isn't over yet!! I AM done with the Scotland trip part of it, but there will be more weight loss stuff to come, I promise. I would NOT kill my own thread!:lmao:

OHHHHHH!!!! With all the stress I forgot to tell you all our good news...Kendall got a 4 on her Psych AP exam!!! That is out of 5. She was totally excited.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Way to go Kendall!!!!!!! That's AWESOME!

I LOVE Wally World! (that's what we call WalMart around here!) We had one about 15 min south of us that was awful. Dirty, crowded, horrible service, and nasty customers. Now we have one about 5 min from us and it's great! The one down here near Cape May is nice too, and the layout is almost the same as the one at home, so i can actually find things there! In fact, we were there just yesterday! :rotfl: See, even on vacation, I love WallyWorld!

Heading down to the pool now. We have company coming, so we don't want to stray too far. We'll probably hit the beach this afternoon.

Racetrack, I can't believe you already have 600 posts! WOW!!! You're gonna pass me before I know it, and you're "new"!!;) ;)

Yeah Kendall on your AP score! That's so awesome, and will totally help out in college. That's like a class in credits! Quite the accomplishment.

whgrn...thanks for the advice. I'll have to go check it out. Here's one of my concerns. I'm Filipino, I eat Filipino. Eating fruits and vegetables aren't really an issue, but will I be able to assess the "value" of a Filipino dish? I know I should tweak my cooking to make it easier, but my concern is that I can't maintain eating non-Filipino foods. It would a shame if I managed to lose something but not have it be a life change.

Men's Basketball semis on right now! USA versus Argentina. We lost the Gold Medal to them in Athens. Its payback time (even if I do like Manu Ginobili.) I'm going to be totally distracted during the game. I have to not cheer too loud.

Aw, sadness. My Alamo rate did not go down. I'll have to keep trying.

anyone like Origins? They're having a promo today. Order anything, get free shipping, and a free sampler kit. Perfect for packing for Disney! I really like their Smilage Plus liptint. It gives a little sheen and is perfect to stick into a pocket. The sampler kit alone is worth over $12~ and shipping is really quick. It'll be perfect to stick into my carryon! (ok, nevermind. I tried to post a link here and it didn't work. Just go to origins.com. Its on the homepage)

Love the shirt too!!!1

4 Days how exciting!!!:cool1: I haven't kept up with Fay, we've had gully washers since Saturday, my plants are happy.:) I hope you have a great time!

Do ya'll think we might have a little TK'r on the way????:wizard: I'm ready to be a virtual auntie!:goodvibes

:cheer2: go DD, wow!!! Happy 16th!!! sorry DH was being mmm 'difficult'
everyone's right you can't go naked. When does school start???

Wish we had IHOPS here. Don't 'work' too hard tomorrow!

I think I'm getting a Sonic about 15 min from my house...no sign but it sure looks like one. :yay:

Happy Birthday:bday: Hope you enjoyed!!! Have a strawberry Limeade for me:drinking1.

Still here... just ridiculously busy.

Broke my toe on Monday, so I'm even slower than usual at getting everything done. I look so goofy too! :rotfl: (trying to have a sense of humor about this, but truly, I am NOT happy... my feet were swollen enough.) Now instead of just "waddle, waddle, waddle"... I go "waddle, limp, waddle, limp."

Still feeling pretty good otherwise though... trying to get my "fit for duty" note from my doc today. Yup. That's right people. After 39 weeks of hauling equipment, climbing ladders, and driving lifts around a studio, work decided to ask me NOW... approx. 1 week from my due date for a doctor's note saying it was safe for me to work. :confused3 Ya' gotta love corporate America.

Anyway, I'm gonna take the rest of my lunch and go hunt around online for some shoes that breathe, but are still considered "safe" for studio wear. (Has to cover the toes and heel... but jamming my preggo feet and swollen toe into sneakers and work shoes is not putting me in my happy place.)

Take care everybody... I'll have to try to catch up later.

Ooch!!! sorry to here that lighttech:hug:, glad you checked in!!!

Almost forgot!
For anyone who's been following the me vs. my brain saga... I FOUND THE CARSEAT!

For some unknown reason, it is in my MILs basement. :confused3 I'm going to pick it up tonight.

Yeah!!!!!

Has anyone looked at the community board tonight? It is just filled with all kinds of crazy threads by monkeyboy. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:confused3 who is that??? Hi racerchicky

Happy pre-Anniversary aleciajab! Sorry, I haven't learned the technical cool smilies like everyone else has.

BF and I will be celebrating four years together at Disney! Does that count as an anniversary?

I'm on board with the "need to get some of this stuff off of me" but its going to have to be after Free Dining! :rotfl2: What's your opinion of Weight Watchers? I have a difficult time committing to anything (save us TKers and the Dis), I don't know how keen I'd be on meetings. I really need to learn to love exercise. Ah 4 years and you'll be at Disney!!!
Happy pre-Anniversary Aleciajab
Pepper your gone by now, have a great trip. Love the T-shirt!!!
shmu, didn't get to comment on the flat TK'ers great job!!!
Okay gosh you guys were busy, busy yesterday. So hi to everyone and I'll check back later.

Morning!!!

Shmu-boy, if figures. I pick a night to go to bed early and you are on late. Hope you were able to get some sleep.

pepper-I didn't get a chance to tell you last night but I hope you and and your family have a wonderful trip. Tell DD CONGRATS from me too.

disney54us-nobody knows who monkeyboy is. He(?) shows up on the community board and post all these strange and wacky threads. Last night, some were about passing gas, are candles in the bedroom romantic, is your house haunted. Sometimes it's just nice to see some funny threads on the CB instead of all the drama.

MagiKitty-I'm going to have to check out Origins. I've never heard of it. Is it pretty good stuff? I don't really wear any make-up but DD is really starting to get into that. I don't really want to buy her the el-cheapo stuff from walmart. Anything you could tell me about origins would be great.

whgrn-I wouldn't have sooo many posts if M&N wouldn't keep me up so late. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Glad you are having a good time at the beach.

Origins is great stuff! Mostly natural, organic. If you want to try stuff first, my local Macys and most department stores carry it, they'll give fre samples. Their stuff smells great too! Lots of their makeup has SPF in it, very important. It would be good stuff to start her on, being organic. I've only used their lip stuff, though. From the website, nothing garish, really pretty colors. With free gift and shipping, worth looking into.

I didn't check out Monkeyboy's posts. I don't like monkeys in general. I consider them bad luck.

AAAHHH! The men's basketball team is blowing their lead. Its at the half and we're only up by 9 points. We were up by 21 at one point.

Good Morning all,

Well I survived shopping, DD's open house(they ran their classes), meeting the teacher I will be "subbing' for for the first week of school and my anniversary (DH brought home a lovely basket of flowers)yesterday.

I went for broke at Dillard's yesterday-3 pairs of dress pants, 3 dresses: a black, 50's style shirtwaist with a semifull skirt, a bohemian peasant style and a grey shef(sp)dress with matching jacket ala Audrey Hepburn(in a nubby grey for cooler weather), a dozen tops and I didn't look at sizes or price tags. I also decided to go preppy do I bought Ralph Lauren tops-that threw DH for a loop. The saleslady asked to put me in her book:rotfl: she must think I do this all the time. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I almost fainted from sticker shock.
Today I go for shoes!:woohoo:

My "slacker mom" friend-we were labeled this a long time ago by a hyper room mother:lmao:- is taking our DD's out shopping today so I get to go out alone:woohoo: Robyn is an artist and totally indulges the girls and it is great. I can't wait to see what she brings home.

Thanks for the tip about Macy's. We have to do some more school shopping tonight so maybe we'll swing by there too. It's just such a fine line to walk with her about makeup right now.

Bopsmom-sounds like you had a great, but busy, day.
