DB and my DD5. DB is the type to stand in background and just watch everything. But DD5 had him out there dancing too. I think this is one of my favorite pics from that night.

Loved the cake even before you told me about the topper. Your stepbro does look unique! Tell DD5 I loved her dress. I can believe she was able to get him out there to dance. She's a cutie. You do look different with your glasses and hair down. I'm trying to see your dress carefully. Does it have some blue or was it the lights? I like the style too. I'm glad things went ok.

Yeah, the dresses were made out of some material that changed color according to the lighting. Sometimes a bright green, sometimes a real dark green and then others it had the blue to it. Made for some really cool pictures depending on how we were standing.

Yeah, stepbro is unique but he's a good kid. When he walked his mom down the aisle, he carried a cane. Why? Because he thought it made the tux look cooler.

Are you still watching the Olympics? I think Jonathon Horton got robbed too. He was great on his high bar routine.

I have been enjoying the Olympics but I will kinda be glad when they are over so I can get to bed at a decent hour.

Racetrack, thanks for sharing those pictures! It looks like everyone had a great time. That cake is gorgeous! Exactly something that I would pick. And your dresses look so cool! So THAT'S what the famous SIL look like. So nice to put a face to all the stories. I think your step-brother looks really cool! How sweet of your daughter to get DB on the dance floor.

Ok, so I missed most of the Olympics last night because BF decides last night that he wants to rent a car. We both had some reservations (both literally and figuratively) about using ME because of his crutches. And the idea of using Disney buses for a week was not thrilling him either. I know handicapped access is fairly standard, but the idea of having to jostle with other visitors always makes us nervous.

So I spend last night looking for a good rate. I think I got one---$132 for a midsize for 8 days. I'll still look until the trip, but BF thinks that a good rate too. I'm just crazy now coz I LOVE LOVE LOVE to hit the outlet stores and I hadn't planned on going this year! Now I have to juggle some stuff around just to make sure that I get at least a few hours at Character Warehouse, the Gap and Coach Outlet. Those are my targets. And it'll make things easier to eat at the resorts and meet Shmu and Beans at the Adventurers Club!

M&N...thanks for remembering about Maria-twin. She tried to re-schedule her drivers test, but the first available was next month, so she'll just try to take it when she's home from college. The twins are going to a state school, so they'll have the Jewish High Holidays off sometime soon.

Retail therapy puts me a very, very good mood. Its in BF's best interests to get me to those outlets! Now I have to call JetBlue and just make sure I'm allowed two bags...its not too early to get some Christmas shopping in!

You can always mail things home! My friend works at a Character Warehouse...Premiun Outlets I think. It's the one near Dixie Stampede (now closed) and has a parking garage. If you see a short, grey haired man who's very friendly, see if he's Dave and tell him you know friend in PA. He works days on Mon. Tue, Thur, Fri. The other outlet is the Prime Outlets...too confuzzing!
Sounds like good weather for Cape May...moved rain to Monday.

Morning!!! Thanks for all the nice comments about the wedding. It really was a great time.

Now that the wedding is over, I can finally start to really plan our vacation. I was thinking about doing one of those photopass photoshoots that they offer at the resorts. Has anyone done one before? I've looked at the pictures others have had done and they look beautiful.

MagiKitty-We drove down last year so we had our van. But we never used it and instead just used the Disney buses for everything. It's nice not having to drive but I think it would have been much easier if we had drove some of the places ourselves. I've never been to the outlets down there. I don't think I could go there or I would spend all our money before we even had a chance to spend it in the parks.

M&N....I was thinking either Thursday or Friday morning for the outlets. And the one near the Dixie Stampede was the one I was thinking of! Easier to get to than the other one all the way past US...I'll be looking for your friend! BF has little nieces that we need to look to get something for. I try to get my souvenirs at the outlets--they have some great buys! (Coach is from me and Mom, Gap for BF and my sister)

Racetrack, we did the Photoshoot at the GF last November. It was really great and at the time $25 if you pre-paid for the Photopass. It lasted about 40 minutes and we got over 200 pictures! I would recommend planning for a sunset shoot, for us it was about 5pm. We went outside on the beach and the colors were just gorgeous. Make sure to take some individual shots, or just of you and DH, or just the kids. They are some treasured memories. They also recommend you wear solid colors, and try to match. Start looking now for your shirts!

Thanks, MagiKitty. We (ok, me) are thinking about doing the photos at the Wilderness Lodge. DH and I think it looks so nice and if we ever would stay at a deluxe, that would be the one. My kids love it because they think it's made out of Lincoln Logs. Ok, so I'll look up sunset times and I guess I'll have to go shopping to find us all shirts. I'm sure that will thrill DH.

Cars are nice to have at WDW although we always park ours and never get back in it until it's time to go home.
I guess I take it for granted that we always have one since we drive.
Believe it or not, I am 41 years old and have never even stepped foot in an airplane. Not that I'm afraid. Just never have.


I LOVE outlet stores too.

Would love to do a photo op but our budget is blown as it is so I will have to pass this time.

To cheer myself up today (Our van needed $650 worth of work done )I decided to do a little planning for upcoming trip.

I made a t shirt using that old picture I have of me and my dad from 1971.
What do ya'll think?

Well, our very inexpensive weekend was great. The waterpark was fun and the kids had a blast. It was only an overnighter but it felt like we had been gone for a week. I guess that's a sign that it was relaxing. Here's our budget...

Hotel room suite $8.88 ($10 w/ taxes)
Breakfast = free w/ room
Lunches = free (packed from home)
Waterpark tickets = $12 x 4 people = $48 for 2 days of fun
Pizza for dinner at restaurant = $30 and that's w/ a 20% tip

Now I head back to work tomorrow. Teachers report in for in-service meetings. I am not full time teaching but doing part-time curriculum work for the school this year and subbing when needed. I am glad to see there are so many teachers on this thread. Must be why we all get along so well.

Wow, there really are a lot of teachers/educators on the TKers.

The Litterbox is very happy! (we call my house the litterbox, not cause of smell, just all the cats). Got my travel documents today! I had also sent back my DVD recorder for repair and it returned also! And I got a further discount on the rental car--I'm down to $117!

My nephew stopped by tonight. The twins are heading to college tomorrow. We both can't believe it. They're starting a new chapter in their life. The only advice I could give him is to not do something stupid the first weekend. He'll forever be branded "that guy on the first weekend who...(fill in the blank here)". I'm actually more worried about my SIL. She's not handling it well. She's losing two at once! But at least they'll be at the same school (only 75 minutes away) so they'll watch out for each other. They're in the same dorm.
