ok, now to comment on everything.

lighttech-Glad you had a great time at Hershey even with the heat. I just had to break it to DD6 that we wouldn't be having a b'day party for her this year but were going to hershey instead. I honestly don't have any of her friends addresses to send an invite to (I know, bad mommy) and we have never been a big birthday friends celebrating type of family. I know it might sound bad but we've always celebrated birthdays as special family time. Anyways, thanks for the trip report. I think lightning racer is our favorite too. We have alot of silly, goofy fun on there. And I'll have to tell DH that there is a place to get nice cold one. Might make his day a little more bearable. (sp) :rotfl2:

whgrn-wanted to ask you, you had talked about puting a message center together in one of your posts. Was that the one in the pic you posted of DD?

:rolleyes1
Thanks for caring though... I can always count on the TK'ers to have my back. :thumbsup2

Or butt!
You were brave to face Hershey in the heat. Hope you had some ice cream. They have Turkey Hill soft serve. I haven't been back to the water park part this year. I think Lightning Racer is my favorite too. I can't do those in the heat though.

So who is doing the Flat TKer?

If you are still here racetrack, I emailed you back. I'm getting sleepy. I was working on organizing pics but eyes got too heavy. Night...

Yeah, I'm still here but for not much longer. Maybe I'll get back to you tomorrow if I roll out of bed early enough. :rotfl2: I love summer vacation!!!!

If not, I'll catch you after the weekend.

Night!!!

WOW!! Aren't you the observant one! Yup, that's my message center! I'm loving it--I posted the kids' last few tests and project up there with the due dates, so I can follow up and make sure they are studying/finishing projects. Gonna come in handy in the fall with 2 in middle school...

So who is doing the Flat TKer?

Yeah, I forget who we send them to! I have actually got a picture! Or, did you just want a head shot? I can get that too...

Racetrack---You're up! :yay: Of course it is 11:30! Hope you got to sleep in. Good thing about retirement is everyday is vacation!
I'm still home. I'm going to a musical tonight so going to Mom's after it. I'm emailing you a pic but it says it'll take 6 min to sent. I have a slooooow system!

I forget who gets the pic...who is going to not be a groupie TKer?

Hi M&N!!! I was even up before the kiddies today. :rotfl2: My computer is so slow right now too. Hopefully, I can get it fixed this weekend. I think Shmu is going to be the "holder of the pictures". Still have to get mine taken...maybe I'll have to dye my hair first. What musical are you going to see?

Hey guys! Its Shmu who's organizing the Flat Tkers, but she hasn't been around too much lately. I hope everything's ok...maybe if we all think about her really hard she'll come by!

I've had a full morning already! If the rest of the summer is going to be like this, I'm going to have to sleep in through autumn! Went walking this morning before it was too hot, went and got my hair redone. She didn't charge me, so I gave her a huge tip--she's a single Mommy and is moving at the end of the month. She needs it.

Baby Kitty got out somehow so I had to climb under the porch to get her and I am not pleased to get that dirty when my hair looks this great!

Birthday party/Father's day celebration this evening with the family. I still have to get a cake. The little nephew wants an ice cream cake, so I placed an order yesterday and I'll pick it up later.

Still have to pack for the Bachelorette tomorrow. I have my Bridal Minnie Ears all ready to go!

All this talk of Hersheypark makes me want to go too. I haven't been since elementary school. Anyone know how far it is from Scranton? I'm 45 minutes NE of there.

See ya later everyone!

Whew!!! Finally caught up. Of course, I have no time to post anything now. So, forgive me for all the commenting I'm missing. I think I"ll have to start form here... but at least I know what's going on.

Did want to say to D&D that thoughts and prayers are with you. What a terribly terrifying thing! Stay safe.

Magikitty - According to Mapquest, its about 2 hrs from Scranton to Hershey. You should definitely make the trip sometime. Its such a nice park. Although, I do remember a long time ago talking about the hills for BF. Can't remember if we all decided that would be tough or not?

You know, I just realized that when I post to you guys, I get an image of your avatars in my head... just like I would somebody's face that I talk to "in person." Its going to be weird seeing the "flat TK'ers." Magikitty won't actually look like a Kitty anymore in my head... etc. I know that 's weird, but I guess its the same way that I swear I'll never remember everybody's real names... :rotfl:

Yeah, we did discuss all the hills. Was thinking of maybe taking the nieces and nephews for a last hurrah before college. Leave BF behind--which I don't think he's mind too much!

Glad to hear you're feeling good Lighttech! Too funny about the avatars...but know that you mention it, you're totally right! BTW, I have a Red stuffed toy in my living room. I always say "Hi Lighttech! How ya feelin today?"

:rotfl2: Do I say "hi" back? I can be very oblivious sometimes! :rotfl2:

MagiKitty, if I remember correctly, I think there are only 2 small sections of the park that have steep hills. It's been a while since we were there so I'm not 100% sure on that. If you want, I can scope things out when we go next week? It is one beautiful park though. I don't know what kind of rides you and BF like but I think Hershey has some of the best coasters for any park.

Lunch time for the kids. Talk to you all later.

Lighttech, we'd be having an entirely different conversation if "you" did talk back to me in the living room...

Racetrack...thanks so much! I don't mind the hills too much, I can push a wheelchair just fine. It was just that when we went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg last year, a lot of the rides didn't have handicapped access, and if they did, it was still difficult. And BF likes any ride I can convince him to ride! Seems there are wooden coasters there in Hershey---and I LOVE those! You'd never guess though, by screaming "get me off of this thing! NOW!" :rotfl2:

What's for lunch? Looking for ideas....mmm....watermelon...

There's quite a few wooden coasters... some of my favorites. The entrance into the park is a big hill, and then there's "Comet Hollow" which has 2 of the parks oldest coasters... and that hill is pretty steep too. Racetrack is right though, the rest isn't too bad.

I did notice a number of signs for handicapped access being at the ride exit, so I think that's how they mainly handle it. It is a VERY friendly park, and VERY family friendly too. I'm sure if you call, they'll be able to fill you in on accessibility.

Also, here's a page on their website w/ a section dedicated to "Guests w/ Disabilities." There's a downloadable guide for said guests.

Hi Everyone,:umbrella:

Checking in to say we're still okay. Unfortunately, we received 2-3 more inches of rain last night so streams, rivers, dams and lakes are all WAY over flood stage and continuing to go higher. :scared1: Not quite as bad as Iowa, but we're getting close. Hope Iowa dries up in the next 29 days. We're heading through there on our way to Colorado.
Running out of roads to travel on---they are all closed due to high water. Bridges failing and water rising...this is crazy. As I look out my window, the field across the road is a lake. Luckily we are on a hill.

Hope everyone else is good. Let me know when you need those flat TK pictures by and who to send to.

Lighttech - I too picture people as their avitars....signed Mrs. Nesbit.

D&DDisney-So glad you checked in. Been watching the news reports and that looks scary as heck. Stay safe and still praying for everyone.

MagiKitty-lighttech is right about the hill at the entrance and the one in the section of the park called Comet Hallow. I believe there is one more section of the park that has very steep hills to get into and out of there. There is only a small roller coaster there and it is easy to avoid that part of the park. Not too sure how accessable the rides are but I'll take a look around and ask a few questions too. Since I'll have my camera, I'll snap some pictures of all this stuff and post them for you.

Oh and an update on DB and SIL, they have been fighting like cats and dogs and it went as far as one of the throwing out the D-word. All I can say is I think they both have some growing up to do and need to start putting their son first. Now if only they would listen. :confused3

The pictures on the news are just awful! What's the forecast for the next few days? Is it finally gonna dry up?

Today I went shopping at Talbots for my wardrobe for Scotland. 3 hours and WAY too much $$$. Some things I got were a size 16W!!! I'm just amazed...

So, tonite my 11 year old DS told me "f*** you"!! I nearly fell over! He had been at his 5th grade end-of-year social from 5-8, was happy as could be when he came home. He went in to his computer and was watching a video of a song he's been told countless times he is not to listen to--I don't approve of it. So I hear the song. So does DD, but I told her he was watching the DVD of his class. WRONG. It was on his computer! I told him to turn it off, and he went off on her. Said she was a tatletale (she didn't tell me!), cursed at her, and when I told him to stop, he said it.

Needless to say it will be a cold day in h e double hockey sticks before he gets on that computer again. I took away his wireless adaptor, so no internet access until I decide it's time. I'm thinking July, if he's lucky. I then jsut sent him to bed.

Where the heck have I gone wrong with this kid? I'm raising him the same as DD. Admittedly, she can have a mouth, and an attitude, but overall she is a sweet kid. He's the opposite, but once in a while you see the nice kid underneath.

I found out today from the endocrinologist that all his tests came back normal, and his bone age is not delayed, it's 11, which is how old he is. So he will always be small. Problably gonna max out at about 5'4". I've not told him, and don't plan to. But I'm thinking it's a good thing he'll never be bigger than me!

I need a drink. Oh, wait, I forgot. I don't drink.

Maybe I'll start...

whgrn-since you don't drink, I'll have one for you. I hate to have one for no reason at all. jk. Seriously, I remember the first time DS did something like that. He didn't verbally call me a name but right before his mom was suppose to pick him, he wrote on a piece of paper (nice and big) "Michele is a b**** " and left it on his dresser by his door when he left. Ooo, was I hot when I found that. Couldn't do a darn thing about it then and there...but that might have been a good thing.

I don't know where we went wrong either. He has always been treated the same as the other kids. Between us adults here, he is their step-brother but that word has never been used in our house when we speak of him. He has always just been their brother. He has the same basic rules as oldest DD but he continues to break them. And yes, he blames her for what he does too.

I can't offer you any advice about DS. You know my story and I am the last one to give advice on this situation. I do have one bit of advice to give though....when you are banging your head against the wall, don't do it too hard....it hurts after a while. :rotfl:

 Hugs for you guys! You two sound just like my parents when they discuss my sister. She is now 31 (I am going to be 35 in 13 days!). They always say they don't understand where they went wrong since they raised both of us the same way. Just remember that you two are doing your best.

My sister said the same thing--we were good kids, how did we manage to raise these unbelieveable BRATS?????

I have a crazy busy day. I'll try to get on here tonite, if I dont' fall asleep first!
