What's wrong with ice cream for dinner? Of course it would be better with hot fudge. Next question...will she wear what was picked out tonight?

I like ice cream for breakfast better. Super Bowl Sunday tradition around here. (don't ask...) And I remember when I was a kid, Mom would take us to Friendly's for lunch, and she'd just get a big bowl of ice cream--no "lunch". When I did it the first time with my kids (and let them do it too) they thought I was the coolest mom ever!

Oh no, no, no. She doesn't know what kind of mood she will be in tomorrow. She might wake up in a happy mood and want to wear nice bright colors to "reflect" that. Or it might be a dark colors day because her BFF didn't text her 20 times before she got out of bed. :rotfl2: Oh, the drama!!!

No, she's not like that at all. And she doesn't have texting enabled on her phone. She's happily wearing what we picked out last night, and even handed me the brush to do her hair! (which needs washing, since she didn't go in the pool last night due to TOM.) Oh well, can't have everything!!:lmao:

Racetrack- Cool pic!!! I hope today (or yesterday...I'm so behind ha ha ha) is a much better day.

Hmmmm, Ice Cream for breakfast....works for me!!!

Just stopping in to say hello.

Have a great day everyone!!!

I know I still owe pictures of Prom, I have been ooba lazy lately lol.

even though I'm not keeping up, I'm trying to pop in and say "hi!". At least I skim the last page while I'm here... sort of still in touch.

Great Old Tyme Photo!!!
I've been wanting DH to do this for a while, but it hasn't panned out.

Just popping in to say Hi. Lots going on here with DB and SIL. I'll fill you in later. Have to get back to playing councelor.

Consider me "popped in" too. Great day out there. Gosh, where has the week gone?

Great picture from Dorney. Always wanted to do one of those too.

Mmm....ice cream! Sounds perfect!

Good luck, Racetrack! :thumbsup2
TTYL!

Hello everyone! Today was absolutely beautiful! Sunny skies, cool breeze. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Had to sub for a second grade teacher today. The kids were great. We had a fire drill today! I have never subbed during one of those. Thank goodness the para that was in the room helped me out.

I was a little worried today when my kids bus hadn't arrived home from school at it's usual time. I ended up getting a call from DS10 around 3:10p, which is 20 minutes later then they get home, telling me that the bus hadn't even arrived at school to pick him up yet! I asked him if he wanted me to come get him and he said sure. By the time I got there the bus had just arrived. Figures! DS10 and the teacher on the play ground told the bus driver that I was picking him up so the driver let my DS7 off to wait with his brother. I usually bring my kids to school because of the fact that sometimes I am working there. But, I let them take the bus home since it goes right by our street and sometimes I don't work in the school. Pick up time at the school can be a real mad house during "Walker" dismissal so it's easier to just let them come home on the bus. We are like the 2nd or 3rd stop. I ended up finding out that the reason they were late is because the bus hit a parked car! Somebody parked there car where they shouldn't have at the school and BAM! Kids were all Ok.

racetrack18kb-Picture is really cute! Me and a friend had our picture taken like that back when we were Juniors in high school. I think we were either dancing girls or hookers. I can't remember which! :rotfl:

I remember the first time my Mom and I had ice cream for dinner at Friendly's Restaurant. That was so cool!

Pikester-I worry so much when my kids are late from school. DS couldn't care less how late he is coming home, it's like a game to him. Thankfully DD isn't anything like that. If she is going to more than 10 minutes late, she'll call home. Our elementary school is like a mad house to when it comes to drop off and pick up times. There isn't even a teacher's parking lot. I just walked DD6 to school. Much easier since we are only a couple of blocks away anyway.

I never did like after school bus duty. The walkers and car riders were called first. Some parents would park on the street and walk over to the door to pick up the kids...not the way it was to be done. That put more traffic where the buses pulled up. But the parents didnpt want to get in the car lines. Then you get the parent running in to pick up their kid before the bus was called. We did have a good system---if it was followed.

It was a beautiful day here too. I think it got up to 87 but not the humidity.

My friend in Orlando had a scare. The house 4 doors down got hit by lightning Tuesday. She said there was a big hole in their roof. Another nearby caught fire. She lives in a gated community near Sea World.

Wow! Did she say if anybody was hurt? I sure hope not. I love watching the lightning but it scares the heck out of me. It's just so unpredictable.

Really nice here too. A little hot, but I think w/ all the baby weight/hormones, I'm going to think its hot all summer. Definitely nicer than the sudden 98degree heat wave we'd been having.

Goodness! I hope everyone was o.k.!!

I'm w/ Racetrack. I love to watch storms, have since I was a kid, but the make me antsy now.

Well, I'm no where near caught up. I've basically just skipped ahead to the present day. I'm only popping by anyway. DH and I moved 8 fairly major pieces of furniture out of the house last night so the Salvation Army could come take 'em away today (hand me downs and some things I had inherited that no one really needed.) Since lifting isn't quite as easy as it used to be for me, I am still pooped. Totally took it out of me. I've got an early Dr. appt in the morning, and then have to go in and do my 10hrs of work, so I'm crashing as soon as I can tear myself away from here.

I'll see if I can't work backwards and catch up some over the weekend.

Racetrack - Since you are here, I'll do a quick rundown for you and M&N.

We did Hershey Sunday (in the 98 degree weather! :faint: ) and had a blast. I can't update too much on rides since I'm not allowed to do most of them. And, we all kind of focused on DS anyway. (It was really great... he's a "Kiss" this year by the measurement, so he actually got to ride a few of the bigger rides and had the time of his life.)

DH did hit the new roller coaster and said it was good. But, Lightning Racer is still his favorite (we're both partial to wooden coasters) and I think he was more impressed w/ Storm Chaser (runner? can't remember) than w/ the newest.

The water park was fantastic. We hung out a little there last year, but it wasn't really warm enough. This year we spent a good bit of the morning there. Its so much cleaner than other water parks, and they have 3 separate areas. 2 for kiddies and 1 for everyone. Then a few separated slides that are just for adults. The area for everybody is a lot of steps and just water coming from everywhere... kind of like a giant tree house w/ water gun ****y traps. DS got the idea right away and had a blast dumping water on everybody down below even though he couldn't go on most of the water slides that take you back down again. (On one side, they do have a few smaller slides for the little ones. They are red... seems as though they've color coded somehow.)

One good tip though, as you leave the waterpark area and head towards Lighting Racer, if you go to the left, just past the Ferris Wheel, there is a new building that is bathrooms and changing rooms. Its MUCH quieter than the ones right by the waterpark.

Also, bring some cash-o-la. They don't do lockers the same way anymore. Its an all day locker rental, and I think it was $10/day. We stashed the camera and wallet in MILs locker and took our chances w/ everything else. Nothing else was really worth the $10 :rotfl: .

The basic layout hasn't changed, but they did get rid of the two tube slides that used to be right across from the rapids ride as you entered the water area. That's where the new coaster is now.

Those are the major things I can think of for the moment...

... unless of course you want to know the one place in the park where they sell beer! We thought it was an alcohol free park all these years, and then found out that one place does offer a few choices as long as you drink it on the premises. DH was :yay: . Its not a huge part of his day if we're there, but I do imagine it was quite refreshing on a almost 100degree day of extended family fun. :rolleyes1

lighttech-one question, if you are still here. How big would you say the lockers are? Enough to shove some t-shirts and shorts into? And of course the cell phones and wallets.

The way our elementary school is set up is the teachers parking lot is also where the buses come in and drop off kids. Kind of like a tear drop. The buses come in and out at the point. The fat end of the "drop" is where the school is and the busers get dropped off. The front of the building faces a street (School St.!) that is one way during school hours. Parents who are dropping off or picking up are suppose to park along this street. NO parents are suppose to drop off their kids in the bus drop off area. Do they listen? Heck No! That rule is only for other people! It is a really important rule this year because there is currantly an addition being added to the school and because of that we have no playground. They have temporarily fenced in the front lawn and have to use part of the parking lot as a playground. It does not matter how many notices they send home asking parents not to drive in there. They same ones keep doing it.

M&N-I hope everyone was OK. It probably scared the bejeezis out of them! We had a police officer in Concord, NH who was struck by lightning. He wasn't directly struck but a bolt hit near him and sent a shock up his leg and through his body. He thought his taser had malfuctioned or something.

Darnit. Site slowed down so much I lost my multi quote and replies... oh well, I was back on page 48 anyway. Probably would've been so out of date anyway! :rotfl2:

I didn't actually see the lockers this time, MIL ran back and put our stuff in while we waited in line w/ DS to get into the kiddy area (not a long wait, but they can only let in so many people at once, so you do have to get in line and wait for a few people to leave.) Last year, if I remember, you could fit in a pair of sneakers and your "dry" clothes a wallet, and probably another small bag (think fanny packish size.) But, I don't know if they've upgraded in some of the newer areas or not.

Sweetheart, you should NOT be moving any "fairly major pieces of furniture" these days!!! Gotta take care of the little bean!

OK, page 50. I give up. so much for in bed early.

Racetrack - You were one of the multi's I lost. Good luck w/ DS. It stinks that his Mom won't take responsibility. So much for "it takes a village." Good for you for sticking by him.

Magikitty - Accidentally deleted the first part of your quote. Too lazy to fix it. :faint:
But, we ate at Crystal Palace and LOVED it. I had read a lot of reviews referencing the food poisoning thing too... major heated debates on here. It seemed like some people loved it, some hated it, some thought they had been poisoned, some thought they'd never eaten better food. DS loves Pooh and friends, so I decided to chuck it all and try it. We had a great food, wonderful service, and characters who really catered too DS. The little character "parade" they do around the restaurant is a little loud, but you only see it once while you are there, and its too cute! They let all the kids wave their napkins and march around the room in a circle behind Tigger, Pooh, etc. The reviews are defininitely mixed, but I give it a big 'ol thumbs upski.

Here it is.....:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

My 1000post!!

Just had to come back to my favorite thread to do it. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Have a great vacation Bopsmom!!!! Sorry I missed your "can't sleep" night.

Can't wait to see those prom pics. Ahh Prom...seems like only yesterday.:rolleyes1

Here is an update on my Dad:

.

So glad for positive news so far. Still keeping you and yours in prayers. I think your Dad's attitude is wonderful, so good for him, amazing and admirable. I bet he's a really wonderful man.

Well, for everyone I missed or haven't gotten too. I hope all is, at the least, going relatively well. I'll keep working thru these pages... and 'night to everybody!

lighttech-if the lockers are the same size, we'll most likely need 2. No problem, at least I'll know ahead of time. And whgrn is right, you need to take it a little easy with moving that furniture.

I know, slap my wrist. I'm such a stubborn little thing though...

But, honestly, I should reassure you. I forget you guys don't know everything about me (you know so much its scary! :scared1: ) I'm very in shape (upper body wise anyway... can't seem to ever get those thighs and bottom in line) from all the lifting and such I do at work. Dr. is onboard w/ my continuing my work as long as I don't go overboard since my body is already conditioned to do the lifting. (He always says you shouldn't start anything new, but if you've already been doing it, go ahead, just use your common sense.)

So, I watch myself about climbing ladders, since I know my balance is off. I try to take it easy when I can, and I try to be VERY aware of my body and how I'm feeling.

Last pregnancy, I was working the day before I went into labor w/o any official "work restrictions." I had some self imposed ones, and the guys I work w/ were pretty good about helping when I needed it. But, trust me, my little guys mean the world to me. I promise I wouldn't do anything considered risky. (Plus, we pulled all the drawers and stuff out first, so the shells of the furniture aren't that heavy anyway, just awkward.)

Thanks for caring though... I can always count on the TK'ers to have my back. :thumbsup2
