Hello everyone! I just caught up on everything...I'll try to remember what I can (I should just learn how to multi-quote already...)

Shmu! So sorry to hear your DD was so sick. Understandably you were crazy worried. Glad to hear that she's on the road to recovery. Did she manage to go on her mission?

M&N and Racetrack....fantastic meet! It sounds like you had a wonderful time. How was the weather for you? Looking forward to the pics. And thanks for thinking of me and my BF--we'll have to discuss another side-trip to Hershey. It sounds like lots of fun!

Lighttech...glad to hear the little one is kicking you around. Just take it slowly and somehow everything gets done. Give the little guy an extra hug.

Pikester...that recipe sounds delish! Of course, I have neither one of those ingredients, but they're one my shopping list! Big congrats to DS on his major accomplishment. What a great job he did!

Pepper, sorry to hear DH and DS aren't going anymore. Busch Gardens in Va? Or Fla? We went to the Va one last year---it really is a gorgeous park and some really crazy rides.

whgrn....I LOVE Target. Nice that you were able to get all the camping stuff taken care of. Have you figured out if your River cruise is still ok? Enjoy your time with DS. Must be so muc fun.

Did I forget anything? I'm sorry if I did....I'll get you again.

Kim....5% really sucks. Pardon my language. I don't know how the economy is affecting persons in tipping, but 5% is really below average. Especially if you've been told you're an amazing waitress (congrats on that by the way!). I can only hope the the summer brings out the best in people and tips begin to get better.

My weekend was fantastic! The wedding was gorgeous, we had perfect weather. My high school girlfriends and I had such a blast being together. The bride just glowed and we all cried together when standing up at the chuppah together. The groom is wonderful and is completely ok with the fact that although he married one, he got the rest of us three for free! We partied way into the night, and even tolerated the mosquitoes. I had entirely too much to drink, and am still paying for it today! But what a wonderful time and I am just so happy for my friend and her new husband.

I too have so much to catch up on, and I have few days until graduation on Saturday. I've decided to get the twins their own fridges for the dorm rooms. I know, not the most exciting graduation gift, but something they're going to need, and something I can get delivered.

talk to you later everyone!

Happy summer all!!!!
margaritasmile1.gif
Time to sit and enjoy a margarita!

Who's with me tonight?

Love the smilie too. Happy Summer.

So, I could make them with just a plain ol' blender? Everyone always talks about how great those margarita machines are and it's the only way to make them. Though spending a couple of hundred just for an indulgance seems outrageous to me. I'll have to go pick up a blender and give those a try next week.

Thanks about the 18. M&N posted that with the 88 though it was because he's going up in flames and not flaming hot like KB.
1.gif

I thought your DD told me you had a blender and the dog didn't like it. Did you just get it?
I am sorry I showed you the flaming numbers---especially after this week's race. :rotfl:

Hope everybody is enjoying their Saturday. DD is still asleep but she never threw up yesterday and she was able to eat some chicken noodle soup. She will be just fine for her trip.

So glad she's better.

The guys are back! DH went as support for DS10 so I didn't have to worry about the both of them. DS10 did the 200 yard swim/2 mile bike/1 mile run in 30:48. He finished 14th out of 24! Whoo Hoo! He was the second to last in the swim but gained during the bike portion. This was his very first event. We'll see what he gets to do next.

What is this smilie doing? Is it suppose to be naughty or something?

3.gif
to your DS10. Don't get in a bike race with him!
Now you know why I ask Racetrack about smilies...We won't report you. ;)

Just wanted everyone to know that I've emailed my picture to Shmu for the Flat Tker meet at Disney. I took my own picture (held the camera out in front of me :rotfl: ) and DH showed me how to load it on to the computer. I attached the picture file to an email and off it went. I did it! I did it! I did it, did it, did it! :woohoo:

 Who else needs to get with us? We may not have had you with us in 'flat body' on Sunday but we did feel like you were with us.
6.gif

DS takes stuff from everyone and never puts it back, so I'm forever looking for things. If I can't find something, I ask him. Even if he didn't take it, he always seems to know where to find it! Today I told him I'd pay him $10 if he could find my missing earring (my FAVORITE pair, one's been missing for ages). Darned if he didn't find it! One was in my drawer, which I knew, and the other was in my jewelry box. I probably saw one at a time and thought it was the one that wasn't missing! Well, it's worth the $10 to have my earrings back! And he was tickled pink to earn the extra $$.
I soooo know where you're coming from with not finding things right in front of you. I have no one else to blame it on though.

DH watched the Nationwide series yesterday on the internet because it was in MILWAUKEE - just a stone's throw from our house. DS was glad because Carl Edwards won, but he DIDN'T DO HIS BACK-FLIP. Such a bummer.

He said it was in respect to racer who died in crash in NJ earlier. I think it was because he was too tired from truck and then Nationwide race and needed energy to rush back to CA for Sunday's race. Racetrack---don't read this next sentence. Kyle was smart to cut back and concentrate on the most important race. OK Racetrack---you can continue to read. :)

Hello everyone....I am pooped.

I have a question. The tips that everyone is getting at the restaurant are terrible. Does everyone think that it is the economy and people are not tipping like they should or are people just freakin cheap. I am talking about 2 out of 3 people tipping about 5%. This is happening to everyone not just me. There are those few that will tip 15-20%, but not many.

I hope you were able to get unpooped.
3.gif

Post a thread on community board and ask other servers how they are doing. Ask people if they are tipping less. I really think some don't tip as much at a buffet but less than 15 is getting cheap unless the service is bad. If I get something wrong with my food or such I don't blame person who brought it. If I have to beg for more tea/water, then the server is at fault but even then I try to see if they have more tables to serve than normal or if another table's large order just came out or something else like that.

I think alot of these people are visiting from out of town and are trying to keep within their budget. I work in a very nice restaurant and the buffet it 25.99. The service is always good, so good that I hear the whole life stories of the people at my tables. They like to talk and I am willing to listen. Being friendly gets more $$$. I had a woman tell me Friday night that I was the best waitress that she has ever had and that she used to be a waitress. She also told me she knows how hard it is and then she left me a $5 tip on a $75 dinner bill. I am so sick of cheap people. We have to tip out 2% of our SALES so when we get bad tips, it really hurts.
Kim

They need to budget tips too. I know from reading cruise line threads on tipping, some are just cheap or think the world owes them service! You just keep that smile posted on your face and then kick the garbage can when you have a chance. But not too hard or you'll hurt yout toe.

Friends having good husbands are important. I have one that I'll never understand why she married him. Glad you had a terrific time at the wedding. I think the fridges are great and practical.

Yes, I made a new friend at Hershey. I'm not talking about Racetrack either. Her DD5 was holding mommies hand and just grabbed mine too as we walked to Chocloate World. I guess she figured that anyone who would sing along and howl with Little Red Riding Hood song in the middle of HersheyPark wasn't all bad. So this smilie is for her.
23.gif

Racetrack and I decided what happened at Hershey, stays at Hershey. :lmao: She's going to post some pictures I think. It was really weird waiting to meet an invisible friend. As I was waiting, a person came up to me asking if I would take a survey. She wanted my age, how many years I've been going to the park, who I was with, their ages. Well, let me tell you, they were not easy questions...the who I was with part. I did tell her I didn't really know who I was meeting. :rotfl2: I did then explain I was meeting someone I met on the DIS Boards. I don't think she had a category to punch in on her little computer screen thing for that. I don't think we were followed or anything like that. ;)

I guess the hardest thing was what to call her. She has sooo many names! Also it was funny trying to refer to some of you with your screen names. It was a beautiful day too. If anyone can carry on a conversation with roller coasters flying by us, we sure did. After meeting her, I just cannot understand how she can cheer for #18!

Too funny....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sure...you and your "invisible" friend are here. I bet she would have thought you were nuts? :joker:

What does a person who cheers for #18 look like?

Can't wait to see pics of this! Racetrack...you've got to post some.::yes::

I didn't say what Racetrack looked like. I said after meeting her, I could not understand how she could cheer for #18. I was not implying looks. But now that you mention it, she had a kind look, was sweet, understanding, quiet. #18, on the other hand is arrogant, boastful, haughty, superior acting...And yes, we did discuss our racing choices. There are some people we both like. :)

Boy, am I tired. Been reading Kim's Cheap People thread. It's 10 pages long. I knew there would be some exciting comments made. There really wasn't much from people who are servers now though. I've also been responding to 2 friends who are emailing me in between.

I got this strange letter from the state retirement system about money I have to pay back to them. It makes me sound like I tried to get money that I wasn't entitled to. They do not send a statement to me every month. I am supposed to get 100 every month above my retirement amount for my insurance that really costs over 600 a month. They are saying I got too much but I do not have to pay it back all at once. They'll take off 100 at a time until they get their money back. Well, it looks like I only owe them back 100. And you really could not prove it by me because I have no record of it anyway. Why don't they just say they made a mistake? I'll have to call them tomorrow I guess. Plus, isn't it awful that it takes over a year for the state to figure out how much money I should be getting a month anyway?

I guess Mondays are slow around here...you can forget your tip since I didn't get any service!

Been really hectic around here today. I think I mentioned that things were getting bad between DB and SIL. They have only continued to get worse and I feel very conflicted about what it going on. Believe me, I love my DB. I mean, he's my brother you know. And you all know about SIL. She can truly drive me insane and alot of times I just want to shake some sense into this girl. But I feel so bad for her right now. I'm trying to keep her from doing something dumb and not react out of anger at my DB. And believe me, if I was in her place, I would be just as angry. I just want her to realize that she needs to put their little boy first.

MagiKitty-Sounds like you had a great weekend too. I am so looking forward to my dad's wedding. I know it's going to be wild but in a good way. Won't be doing much drinking (we will have all the kids there) and we've been nominated as designated drivers. That's ok. My stepmom's kids are much younger than us and I know they will drink way much more. Rather would play it safe.
I'm still trying to get those pictures uploaded for you. I'm working with plain ol' dial up service and it moves slower than molasses in February. I"m hoping by tomorrow.

pepper-sorry DH and DS won't be joining you for your trip to Disney. It won't be the same but it is D I S N E Y!!!! And Busch Gardens sounds wonderful. I haven't been there for years but I have great memories of it. I keep meaning to take the kids there but something else always comes up. How's your dad doing? Did he ultimately decide to switch doctors?

Kim-didn't get to SIL about the tip business (see above). I'll try to ask her when things calm down a little.

M&N-Of course, they can't say they made a mistake. If it's run by the state, they can never be wrong. Sorry this is happening. It sounds like it would be a big pain you know where to get it straightened out. Hope the phone call to get it straightened out is quick. :lmao:

I guess all you east of me are in bed...just had a nice thunderstorm. Didn't hear a lot of rain though. I think it was headed more north than east. I had already watered my hanging plant. I have to have my jeep in for service tomorrow so I have to pick out a book to take along and read. I'm going to Hershey on Wed again. It's the only day they are not calling for possible thunderstorms. These friends like the roller coasters but won't do the pirate ship. :confused3

I do need to get to bed. I had too much caffein yesterday :hyper: (Coke slushie on way home from the park) and could not get to sleep until after 3)

Racetrack - sorry things are getting worse w/ DB & SIL. I too feel bad for the little boy. So sad. Prayers that things get better.

M&N - Hope you know I was just funning w/ ya about what a #18 cheerer looks like. It was just so funny to read that you expected Kyle fans to be...how shall I say...somewhat like him. ;) I still do hope one of you posts some pics of your weekend. :hyper:

Good night all! See ya tomorrow.
19 days until our camping trip - Yeah!!!!

M&N, there you are. By the time I got on earlier, you were gone. Livvie loved the smiley. She had to eat dinner at the computer just watching it. I know, bad mommy letting her eat at the computer but she was in a bad mood from being overtired from yesterday and I just wanted her to eat. Oh, by the way, you are now the "candy lady" and she insists that is you and her on the see-saw. Don't try to argue with her because you will never win. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the prayers for DB/SIL. They both need to look at the big picture and that happens to be my nephew right now. Oh, and I am working on some pictures from sunday. It's just very slow going with this computer. But to tell you the truth, I only got one pic of us together. I was having such a good time, I didn't even think about pictures.....even though she is a Jr. fan. :rotfl2:

Ok, I hope you all don't mind a bunch of pictures even though I only managed to have 1 of me and M&N taken. Sorry, I was busy chatting away and didn't even think to stop and take a bunch of pictures for all of you.

Well, here we are. And with one of favorite kinds of candy...Peppermint Pattie. Chocolate and mint, what's not to love.
miscellaneous219.jpg

Livvie with the Milk Duds. She loves any type of character she can meet. She has never been scared of any of them.
miscellaneous217.jpg

My 2 littlest ones waiting for the big splash of water when the flume boat comes down the hill.
Copyofmiscellaneous196.jpg

And how happy they were after they got sprayed by a good amount of water.
Copyofmiscellaneous198.jpg

Alexis (DD7) enjoiying the ferris wheel.
Copyofmiscellaneous192.jpg

MagiKitty, these are a couple for you....

This is looking down the hill at the park entrance. It's kinda steep and the only one that can't be avoided. Other than that, all the other steep hills can be avoided if you don't mind missing a few rides.
miscellaneous221.jpg

This is the newest roller coaster they built. It ascends the hill at a 90 degree angle (flat on your back) and has quite a few inversions. Rode it 1st thing in the morning and only waited about 20 minutes.
Copyofmiscellaneous183.jpg

This is part of StormRunner. One of my favorites. Launches you much like the way Rock-n-Roller Coaster does.
miscellaneous201.jpg

Lightning Racer. Wooden coaster with 2 tracks. Race to the finish and lots of fun if you have enough people to split the group between the 2 train.
Copyofmiscellaneous190.jpg

Hershey's version of the monorail. :rotfl2: Actually, nice and relaxng. You can see most of the park from up there and they do go out to the "real" chocolate factory (M&N, correct me if I'm wrong)
miscellaneous200.jpg

And lastly, this is part of the water park that they built for this year. It is included with the price of admission and seemed to have alot to do for the whole family.
Copyofmiscellaneous191.jpg

Oh, and M&N might not have known how I could be a Kyle Busch fan but she hasn't seen me while watching a race yet. I can be all those words she used to describe Kyle Busch. She just hasn't seen it yet. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yeah! Pictures! Wow, you guys had some beautiful weather and even more beautiful kids! I do not know what I was expecting, but after those pics, I WANNA GO TO HERSHEYPARK! ::yes:: ::yes:: I'm glad you had a great time all around. And thanks for that pic of the hill. If that's the worst unavoidable one and early on in the park, we should get through it just fine.

And sorry about DB and DSIL....its so hard to know when you let things work themselves out or when to step in, especially when there's a little one involved. I'll say a little prayer than everyone realizes what's going on and who should come first.

D&D's going camping! How long are you going for? I hope you have great weather and an even better time. I only went camping once, in British Columbia, and while it was gorgeous, we did do it "lite" and stay in a hotel at night.

I have to giggle a little bit. Nephew is in Kansas City for a national scholastic competition. I hope he kicks butt! He called me when he arrived. He wants to go to the Chicago/Doobie Brothers concert this weekend. I told him I would love to go with him, but if its going to cause trouble for him with the Evils, I didn't think it was worth it. He said he's already spoken to his parents and that its a go. Yeah! I've been wanting to go to this concert for ages! Can you hear it? "If you leave me now, you'll take away the very heart of meeee....ooooh, no, baby, please don't go!"

Grey and chilly here today. May rain this afternoon. I just don't know how to dress myself for this weather. Good day all!

Thanks again everyone for the prayers for my DD. She bounced back quickly and is in West Virginia on her trip.

    YAY for the pictures:banana:

So is this the first official TK meet or has some of us met before and I missed it?

The pictures I'm getting for Flat TKers are looking great.

Looks like we all have a lot of family stuff going on, good and bad.

OH, I didn't even realize it but it's going to be me and DH alone again this weekend. DD will still be in West Virginia and DS is going to Maryland for a karate tournament.

This is the second time this season. Seeing how the kids have ALWAYS been with us since we home schooled, this is a big treat.
DH even said he is trying to work out his schedule so he doesn't have to work on Friday. I told him maybe we can go to Stone Mountain Park. We use to date there all the time and he proposed to me on top of the mountain. I'll take pictures if we go.

:hippie: :hippie: :hippie: :hippie: To Everybody.

Have a great day and I'll try and check in again tonight.

Quick everyone! My husband David Cook is on the View! He did begrudingly admit he's seeing someone...how cute. He doesn't have to tell the world about us quite yet....

Oh wait, was he talking about the OTHER GIRL? That Kimberly Caldwell? Ugh, I had blocked her out...darn. I guess he's entitled to having some fun without me.

He's singing next after the commercial! Woo-hoo! :cool1:

Wow, the pictures are great. The rollercoaster ones make me :scared1:. I refuse to ride those big ones, Big Thunder is about all I can take. Sounds like you had a good time.

Ok, I hope you all don't mind a bunch of pictures even though I only managed to have 1 of me and M&N taken. Sorry, I was busy chatting away and didn't even think to stop and take a bunch of pictures for all of you.

Your kids are adorable!!

I don't understand why parents have to be such jerks when all it does it mess things up for the kids. There IS such a thing a being a grown up and being mature about it.

I LOVE Chicago! I LOVE that song! I can just hear it now...

Thanks again everyone for the prayers for my DD. She bounced back quickly and is in West Virginia on her trip.

Praise the Lord!!! Hope she has a great trip. And hope you and DH have a great date!

First of all---great pictures Racetrack! They are so clear. I took a few but with a disposible camera. I'll have to download these. If I get brave, I'll see if mine can scan and open a photobucket account. (right name?)

Racetrack
M&N - Hope you know I was just funning w/ ya about what a #18 cheerer looks like. It was just so funny to read that you expected Kyle fans to be...how shall I say...somewhat like him. ;) I still do hope one of you posts some pics of your weekend. :hyper:
Good night all! See ya tomorrow.
19 days until our camping trip - Yeah!!!!

Racetrack and I discussed our teasing and how everyone seems to know it is just teasing. That helps make it more fun to watch and get involved in. You have to have someone to boo!
12.gif
(Notice shades...) I go through it all with Johnson and Gordon fans---we have to be kinder now since we are on the same team.

M&N, there you are. By the time I got on earlier, you were gone. Livvie loved the smiley. She had to eat dinner at the computer just watching it. I know, bad mommy letting her eat at the computer but she was in a bad mood from being overtired from yesterday and I just wanted her to eat. Tell her that I'm glad she didn't so too high for me on the see-saw! I told her I would send her a smilie. Glad she liked it.

Yeah! Pictures! Wow, you guys had some beautiful weather and even more beautiful kids! I do not know what I was expecting, but after those pics, I WANNA GO TO HERSHEYPARK! ::yes:: ::yes::

Super Auntie---saves nephew from the evil ones. Reward---concert.

Cannot stay on. Patrick is in the shop. I was waiting but they gave me a car. There's too much to do to him. 5 yr checkup, some p word is leaking slightly, one brake is soft and a lot of other stuff to add up to over $1,000. I knew I put that tax rebate in the bank for a reason. Really, I haven't had problems with my little Jeep so I want to take good care of him since he's paid for now! So the 2 months I haven't had payments and my rebate should cover most of it.

Am I doing ok on the positive attitude?

OK, nice picture...but who's who????????

Your kids are adorable!!

It is a quiz. Who has a season pass? Who has a refillable cup? Who is retired and thus older? Who is who?
And I do agree---her children are adorable. Except when DD5 was picking on me! :lmao: She was just playing-giving me little nudges-making sure I was ok. I think I passed. :cool1:

whgrn-ooops, I guess I forgot to put down who is who. I'm in the green. Are you all ready for your trip?

MagiKitty-Yeah, that's the only unavoidable hill. There is also a zoo that is included in the price of admission but we didn't get a chance to go this year. Kids chose to play in the water park. You know, if David Cook didn't want to talk about his girlfriend, maybe he WAS talking about you. Maybe he didn't want the paparazzi swarming around you and interupting your life.

Shmu-so glad your DD is better. :cool1: A date weekend with DH....I'm still waiting for that to happen here. :rotfl2: This was the first Tker meeting that I know of. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

Kim-I wanted to take SIL mind off of what is going on with DB for a little so I asked her about the tip thing. She said her tips have been bad lately too. So maybe it is the sign of the economy. :confused3
