Thread Killers Untied! (no Tker left behind...)

I took my kids out of school for our last trip in November. They missed 3 half days (teacher conference week), and then they were off Thursday and Friday for Teachers' Convention. It's frowned upon, but not forbidden.

Well, I guess so many parents do that, the district finally got smart. This coming year, they have the whole week off!! So I think we will go to Turks and Caicos that week--it's about 40% cheaper than going over Christmas or Easter break.

Has anyone done a Disney Cruise over Easter break? I was thinking that might be something to do in the future. I don't think I'd want to do Christmas--too cold then.

We're off to my parents' house this afternoon for a BBQ. It will be good to see them. I'm bringing Daddy his kilt--he has to model it for us!! We're having burgers, corn on the cob (from Whole Foods, NOT Jersey corn yet) and salad, and Mom found some fresh strawberries at the farm stand near them. I'm splurging the extra 126 calories to have the burger instead of a chicken burger. It will put me over by that much, but it evens out over the week so I decided it is OK. I think I'd really have felt deprived if I couldn't have a burger on Memorial Day! Is that dumb? Oh well...

Hope everyone enjoys the day, stays safe, and stops to remember why we have this holiday in the first place. God bless our troops--past, present, and future, as well as living and dead. "Greater love has no man than this: to lay down his life for a friend"--our scripture verse from church yesterday and SO appropriate!

Caribbean isn't too cold in winter but everything is expensive over Christmas vacation! Everyone deserves to splurge once in a while (just don't let the splurge last a month. )

Good evening everybody. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. We just hung around the house and took the kids to the oceanfront to walk around for awhile.

I noticed that the thread didn't move that much over the last couple of days. I guess people were busy. I know that pepper was sick. Hopefully she is feeling better, but maybe not because she has not been on. I am not sure who else was sick, but I hope everyone is feelng better.

I guess it is back to reality tomorrow for everyone. I am kind of glad because I am hoping to hear some good news about a job that I interviewed for. I want this job very much. Wish me luck everyone.

Good Morning! Just stopping by to say hello.

It is a warm and windy day here in NH. This is my first time wearing shorts for the year and ! What the heck! I think I gained a little over the winter . I need to get back to walking everyday (Walked for 40 minutes today). I've got from now until Dec to be ready for all the walking I'll be doing at Disney.

Yep, 6 months of walking should get you ready for Disney.

Loved your doggies!!! And I could listen to you talk all day. I wish I could have heard the birds but I am the one who was just at the hospital. Can't hear hardly anything but DH did get a kick out of watching me put my "good" ear up to the computer speakers.

It always amazes me how good they can be 1 week and how bad they can be the next! You would think as a chef they would have to have some consistancy.
