Happy Monday everyone! Here's my daily weather update: rainy and cold.

I missed so much! Here's what I can remember...

Pikester! So glad you found us! We're a chatty bunch, just jump on in. The more the merrier! I'm staying at the Pop for the first time in September--I'm looking forward to it! (I haven't stayed on site in over 15 years)

I love the name Colin Stewart. Very distinguished, if you ask me. Quite a romantic name...all the girls will be sighing...."oh, colin!"

How'd the prom and birthdays go?

Looking forward to all the pics and trip reports!

Good forward thinking whgrn! Hope all the food came out super yummy--they sound so good. Esp chili on a day like this! Good luck on the surgery on Thursday. Do you have a laptop? You can just Dis while you're in recovery!

How's the DD baseball going? Still number two here...I had to drop a starting pitcher coz he's been demoted (is that the right word?) to the AAA, but I have to wait b/c of some waiver thingy. I don't know what that is at all.

How's the expectant mommies doing? And the stuffed animals that won't listen?

Ran into TERRIBLE traffic on the way to the airport on Friday night. Absolutely stopped on the Triborough bridge. Luckily, Dad's flight was delayed too, so it seemed to work out okay.

Got the new Birnbaum guide! Was a little skeptical coz it was so thing, but the pictures and colors are great! The bookstore clerk asked if I was going to Disney World--I said yes! And he asked when? And I sheepishly answered "September". Ok, so I'm a little TOO enthused about my trip...

The party went well this weekend. Eight 6 yr old boys running around the house with glow sticks...um, I mean lightsabers. I think they had a blast, but the DH and I were Here are the Ty Fighters we had.

whgrn- Good luck on the surgery. Did you share what type of surgery it was? Now stop taking care of those who will take care of you and recover soon.

Pikester- My sons are about the same as yours - DS10 & DS6. Are yours into Star Wars like mine?
lighttech - Are you a Nascar lighter too???? Do you have an "in" for Nascar tickets?

Pikester...Glad to see a new Killer post. Just join in whenever. You don't have to say much. Somke chat more than others. As you read back, you'll see there's great support here. Dec is a wonderful time to go to DW. The decorations are fantastic. The Osborne lights are out of this world.
Pepper: Your ticker is much better. Now we don't have to worry about your baby too. Great response to Beaker about the text messages. How was the game?
Lighttech: I'm glad those stuffed animals finally went to sleep. I think I probably blamed mine for things when I was little too. I had a huge collection. I think Colin Stewart is such a strong sounding name...definitely Dr. Colin. After 35 yrs in schools, I can say Colin does not have bad memories. Believe me there are names I would never have given a child. Just think...you can say you got to light up those famous drivers. I thought some were going to light up after yesterday's race. Great wrecks...

I think I hit most things. I was to meet friend for lunch but she's got a bad back. So now need to decide whether to go and splurge or eat a WW meal. It's rainy and dreary here too. You know that song Rain days and Mondays is true...

Morning all, I will not say good morning. Recieved a email from dreamin
she has been banned for life.
As you know, Her last message here sounded like a goodbye, and I, as usual was confused. Had not been on much and was trying to play catch up. From a few things she posted there were 'crazy' things going on. I really had no clue, the little time I had to go on I was reading this thread and my recipe thread. Seems she posted a opinion that she agreed with what people were saying about all this craziness and banning and when she hit her refresh button it said she was banned for life.
She wanted you guys to know she sends her and loved being part of this thread and the friendships that we have all come to have.
I am very dishearten about this and still so so so .

dreamin in pa- Me, DH, DS10, DS7, my mother and father will be staying at Pop from Dec 7th-Dec 14th. My family of four will be driving from NH and my parents will be flying. This is our second trip to The World. We went in December 2006 and we stayed at Pop. On that trip it was my family of 4, my mother and my nephew.


disney54us- Can't wait to join in. I think I need to go back a few pages, well, maybe more then a few so I can catch up on what everyone is posting about.

Everyone here has been very welcoming. I usually don't have much to say but when I do; I'm glad that there are people here who are willing to listen.

I better go start reading.

So many funny post, I've gone back and read and it's funny to remember Thanksgiving time was fun we were all talking turkey and food. When the upgrade was done we were all in a panic as if we may never find each other again. The move to the Community Board when we were all scared and hated not being on pg 1. So much history, from a bunch of thread killers. Births, deaths, illness, happy times, proud moments about our kids and of course talk of the almighty world and disney magic.

What's up dreamin? Are you gonna get banned for something??? What is happening?????

Yup, rainy and cold here too. What happened to our nice spring weather?? Oh, wait, rain IS usual April weather. But not this cold!

Kitty, I DO have a laptop, but I don't know how much use I'll get on it. I have to lie in bed for 5 days, can't sit up at all. So maybe, maybe not. Certainly not gonna be easy!! We'll see though. i thought after my shoulder surgery I'd be out of commission for a couple weeks, and it didnt' happen, so maybe I'll get lucky again? And the food came out great! I had some tortilla soup yesterday. Oh, did someone want the recipe for that? Here it is!

2-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 15 ounce cans black beans, UNDRAINED
1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
2 15 ounce cans diced tomatoes (one or both can be with zesty jalepenos)
1 cup salsa (mild, medium or hot--your choice!)

Place chicken in crockpot. Cover with remaining ingredients. Cook 8 hours on low. Remove chicken, shred, return to soup and mix well.

You can sprinkle on cheddar cheese, serve it over rice, or dip it with tortilla chips. Or just eat it plain!

This freezes very well, either in individual portions or in a big one. I use low salt everything (except the tomatoes with zesty jalepenos and the salsa), but that's up to you too! The original recipe calls for 2 chicken breasts, but I use 4 because I need more protein. Again, up to you!

I understand that some persons are troll, but disagreeing is commonplace and not totally unwelcome. Oh goodness, I'm so disturbed by this. Can we do anything about it? Can we campaign to have her reinstated?

BTW, the cupcakes are fabulous. I'd have to make a batch of my own--I'm a Star Wars fan myself. There's a new feature length animated Star Wars movie coming out in August about the Clone Wars. I saw about 10 minutes of it at the Comic Con. It looks fantastic. Its loosely based on the cartoon shorts a few years ago. I'll be there!

Pikester, in the last two years, my BF and I have gone to WDW during the winter holidays. Wonderful, stunning decorations. I loved the Candlelight Processional in particular, I recommend it if your family likes the Nativity story. BF is going to miss the Osbourne lights this year..I play the video of it for him so he can "relive" it. Make sure to visit the other resorts---the life size gingerbread house at GF is incredible! You're going to have a wonderful time!

I have no idea what's going on, Yeah we should petition, it seems and again having not been on I really don't know much but I don't think that would help. I thought Dreamin's last post was a bit mysterious too, but I thought I had just missed something. Do you think that they gave her notice and that she knew she was going to be banned? There has to be a thread about this somewhere...its just not the Disney spirit just to wipe out a whole bunch of posters like this. I'm so distraught. I mean, people from around the world, different backgrounds and experiences are on her, of course there's going to be conflict. But isn't the variety a good thing? And isn't the point of posting is that you have something to say? And that you should be able to say it?

Wow, really crazy to think about. I hope a full explanation comes out from the moderators. I think if we are to lose our friend, there should be some reason behind it.

Rain and Miley Cyrus. Has everyone heard the latest??? All over the TV this morning her pic for Vanity fair mag and she has a silk sheet covering her???? Hello she is 15 with a fan base of little girls and a Disney Channel star. Gosh there goes another one getting to big for her britches and acting way older. I wish this 'stars' would realize the slide downward they take when they think they get to big for just a disney show. Where are so many of them now? I know April showers bring May flowers, but I have April flowers and would like some sun, its so dreary!!!!

All things considered, the rain today is entirely appropriate.

I saw the stuff on Miley Cyrus, and the two photos that have gotten everyone talking. I think its sad that we can't appreciate the beauty of a young woman without her having to take her clothes off and sexualize her. She is a gorgeous girl, and from what I've seen of her previously, seemed to have her head and her act together.

Some news coverage claimed that her parents were there with her at the shoot and knew entirely what was going on and gave their consent. This disturbs me also. Miley garnered fame on her wholesomeness and pesisted in presenting herself as a regular girl, someone that millions of other little girls could look up to. Sadly, I think they still will.

Some persons are blaming the photographer but I think the fault lies with Miley and her parents. They are entirely aware that the image projected by her will affect her credibility as well as her sales. I'm not happy that Annie Leibovitz thought this style would be appropriate for a young lady, but ultimately, her parents should have put their two cents in and exert some control.

I guess I should disclose that I have been a Vanity Fair subscriber for years. I find their expanse of subjects and consistently well written pieces makes it one of the best magazines out there. They have covered other young stars in the past, and have done it with what I would call tasteful photo spreads.

Agree, It is her parents who should be making the right decision. I saw the photo's and of course they are beautiful, but a 15 year old girl should not have been photographed like that. But lately she even dresses to old for her age. Not to say sleezy but to grown up looking. what looks good even on a 17-18 year old can be to 'old' for a 15 year old. Shame just seems the more and more a superstar she b/c's the more there is that she needs to make a statement and apoligize to her fans.

I'm baaaccckkk. Games went great. They made it to the championship game then lost. Oh well, I think it is great they made it that far. That is a long drive to Lynchburg. geeze.

Dreamin' is gone? Now that just makes me sad. I don't know what is going on, and I don't think I want to. The DIS is my happy place and I hope to keep it that way.

I am very sorry to hear about Dreamin' though. She is a nice lady, and I will miss her late night posts.

Hi Pepper! Glad to hear you had fun at the games this weekend.

I have a question re: my very far away trip in September. I've recently stayed at timeshares in the Orlando area so we don't have maid service. When you stay onsite, I know you're supposed to leave a tip per day for service versus leaving one big tip at the end coz you may not have the same person doing your room everyday. So, how do you do this? Do you leave an envelope everyday? Do you put something on the outside so they know its their daily tip? (and what do you put?) Or do you just leave money on the dresser and hope they know its the tip?

Just want to tell everyone to watch which treads you post to. Many have misleading titles now and they will pull you into some place you don't want to go. I think a lot of innocent Disers got caught up in this last one, including one of our own. Don't want to lose any more of us to that.
It is a shame that there were so many trolls out there. Hopefully most of them are now posting elsewhere.
