The internet is a bad, bad thing. I just ordered a Roomba. I am so darn excited it may be pathetic. Between the cats and my own shedding, I need one! It says colors may vary...is there any chance of getting a pink one? I'm going to glue googly eyes on mine and let him go to town, cleaning everywhere he wants. Help me think of a name. I just hope the cats won't turn riot and attack.

We'll need a picture of it. I think we need a poll as to whether the cats will chase it or hide from it. We also need to get a list of names and vote. How about Ruby Roomba?
Saw a very short mention of threats in schools for today and they showed front of Bethlehem's school...didn't mention any names...on Phila tv channel 6 this am.
Just supposed to have a dusting tonight but it sure is cold...15 less than normal.
Going to a garden show today. Don't know why because I do not do my yard but thought I would get some ideas...at least get in the spring mood.

Good Morning Tkr's
I have time this morning to check since I can't go outside yet. At 6am we had a Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom situation in my greenhouse.

My neighbors let their declawed cat roam the neighborhood and it has decided it likes my backyard-lucky me a situation made worse since neighbor says it doesn't disturb them or anyone else.

Anyways, I have other critters back there too and lately something has dug under my greenhouse-not uncommon-I thought it was a armadillo. WrongO, it seems the burrow was dug by a skunk. The exact same one that tangled with neighbor's cat this morning while we sat mere feet away eating our oatmeal in the breakfast room.
So now, I can't go in the side gardens and can't go into the greenhouse to get my tools because the smell is awful.
I did give dear neighbor a 6am wakeup call to come get Smelly Cat(since it spends it's life in my yard I have renamed it)-hope it didn't "disturb" her.

We have got trailriders with horses and wagons plodding down the freeways, people who never wear boots and hats getting all gussied up for work and a huge cloud of mesquite/wood smoke eminating from Reliant Stadium parking lot from the Largest BBQ-cookout.

DH and I are going tonight to visit my BBro's BBQ team.arty: We love the team's sponsors-Lone Star Beer and Jose Quervo!

That might have been our local highschool that you saw on the news. All the threat rumors started at the school my DS and stepbrother go to. Right now, one of our local middle schools is evacuated because of a bomb threat. Scary stuff. I kept all my kids home today...just can't take the chance.

whgrn-I agree the notifications are all messed up again. I wish they could fix that.

Bopsmom-Rodeo Day sounds like a blast. Especially the BBQ contest. Do you get to taste test? If you do, I think I would spend all day there.

M&N...I think I will take a picture of the poor Peep in the microwave. It sounded like such a great idea--mega huge Peep! But he looked so sad. And oh so yummy at the same time.

Oh shmu, I forgot a soft drink in the Commander last November at Universal and that was a mess. I can only imagine how gooey big Peep car would make in that heat. But it would smell lovely.

My SIL told me her daughters school was also threatened today. . I called my DD's school and they told me all was quiet.

I don't get notifications anymore at all. Maybe it's AOL? I'm not too upset. I usually check my subscribed to list. And BTW---I only killed 4 threads this month! I figure it because I haven't been on too many other ones lately. And we all know Killers don't let other Killers kill!

Bopsmom - No doubt you're in Texas when ya get excited over a big BBQ. Sounds like fun though. I envy you going to a BBQ when all I see out my door is blowing snow and cold. Can just picture the folks in their boots, hats and scarfs. (Insert cowboy smilie here). I can smell the mesquite in my mind. Hope that smell drowns out your skunk smell.

Well, we have started planning a summer camping vacation to Denver and looking forward to it. It is nice to at least think about warmer weather right now. Anyone ever been there or have any suggestions of things to see?

I was in Denver in the 70's so I'm sure things have changed...but I remember enjoying going to the US Mint. Also went up Pikes Peak on a bus---the driver told us if we got scared, just close our eyes---that's what he does! Also went to Air Force Academy and an old town called Central City. If I remember correctly, the official mile high is at the capital building's steps. I also got to Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone on that tour. I love mountains. Rocky Mt High....

So, I'll save most of the comments, but I hope for angels watching over all of our little ones. Its a scary world these days. I've often had that thought about home-schooling and doing whatever it takes to protect DS. I just keep trying to remind myself that I'm doing my job by going out and living each day and not letting my fears stop me.

(Just added this edit - I wanted to make sure no one mistook my comment about the home schooling. I'm not opposed to the idea at all... I think you who do homeschool are doing an amazing thing... I don't know that I'd have the energy. But, I just don't ever want my reason for home schooling to be fear. That would be letting "them" win. If I decided to give it a try, I'd want it to be b/c I thought it was the best educational scenario for my child.)

I know exactly what you mean. I kept my kids home today even though today was probably the safest day to go to school the whole year. Our local paper posted a picture from our highschool today with a police oficer in a bullet-proof vest checking student id's before the kids went in. I did not want my kids to go to school to that. They are suppose to be safe at school and not armed police officers there. Thankfully nothing happened today but now I worry if today just wasn't the real day. Maybe the group that started all this really has something planned for another day. It's a sad day when you have to worry about sending your children to school.

lighttech-no explanation needed for me. The homeschooling thought has passed through my head about 100x this past month. But I know it would not be best for my kids. As afraid as I get for their safety, they love the social aspects of school. DD12 learned to play the violin and made first chair in middle school after only playing for 2 years. How could I teach her that when I don't have a musical note in my body. It's a trade off. I worry everyday when they school but they are getting what they need by being there.
