Hey killers!

Lighttech - how can I be here when QVC has yet another Bare Escentuals show on? I cannot tear myself away when it is on. I did think about you when I was watching it.:thumbsup2

So, I have to tell ya'll about the first day of our trip to WDW. Get ready, this could take a while.

So, we get up at 3:30 am and DH and I have the sleeping children in the car by 4:15. We head off down the road, hoping to be at WDW soon after lunch. We get on the interstate about a mile from our house, and....THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT ON THE CAR!!!!!. Can you believe it? We had just had the transmission "fixed" (on our 1 year old vehicle) a few days before we left, but obviously, they missed something.   We managed to make it back home with only 1st and 3rd gear working. Put the kids back in the bed and give DH a couple of blood pressure pills. So, DH gets in his truck and goes to the dealership where we had it "fixed" and is waiting there when the service manager arrives. They say they will send the tow truck and a rental car right away. DH comes back home, comes inside to have breakfast, and then goes back out to the garage to unload our car. All of a sudden I hear words that haven't been used around our house since DD was born and we started acting like responsible adults. The tow truck came and took our car with all our stuff still in it without even knocking on the door to say "Hey, I'm here to get your car." It's not a repo mister!! Let us know you're getting the car!!! Holy moly, I thought DH really would stroke out then. So, we call the service manager and tell him to call his tow driver and get him to bring the car back so we can get our stuff, which he does. By this time it was about 8 am and DD is asking approximately every 3 minutes when we're going to WDW. Finally, about 11 am, the rental car gets there. This is almost the time when we planned on BEING THERE! So finally, 7 hrs after we originally tried to leave, we're off to WDW in our considerably smaller rental car with no DVD player. I have become really spoiled by the DVD in the car, since I'm not very good at the singing songs and playing car games thing, I need it. If we thought the previous 7 hrs were not fun, we were about to really have some not so good times in the next 7 hrs it took us to get to WDW. But, we did finally get there, and that's what counts.:goodvibes That was definitely the low point of our trip. I'll tell you about the highlight tomorrow. If ya'll want to hear.

Later killers!

OMG!!!! Of course I am sure now you can laugh about it. Something similar happened to us but we were at Disney when our tire went flat. Disney staff was amazing and it did not even dent our vacation

Well, DS has a baseball game so I am off. College ball starts waayyyyy too early. It is only 60 degrees out there...cold for a baseball field.

see ya later!!!

Afternoon! Rainy here again. And tomorrow is suppose to be very windy.

lighttech-I would ask DS each day what he did in daycare and if it seems like he is spending alot of alone time, then I would look into a couple of days at a regular daycare. Are the other children near his age too? Does he say if he plays with the other children at all? I know he's young and it's hard to get answers sometimes. Could you maybe ask the sitter what they did during the day, you know in a totally nonconfrontatonal way? Maybe she just needs ideas on activities to do with the children. I know, I'm not much help but it's all things I would think about especially if he does like where he is. I know what you mean about other people comming on here and figuring out who we are. I refuse to tell SIL about this place. As far as she knows this is only for "Disney nuts" to talk about the parks. :lmao:

Audisfan-Oh man, that is so horrible. I hate cars, car repair shops, etc. Everytime we have to get something fixed on the car, it seems like in a few weeks something else goes wrong. It's a conspiracy for more money out of us. :rotfl: But please, tell us the highlight and get this picture out of our minds.

blame my sister-:wave2: nice to hear from you again. Come back and visit more often.

disney54us-:woohoo: :yay: your're over 13 now. I'm not too sure about the siggie thing, I'll have to go back and look at mine to see what it says. I do know that I save any pictures I want in my siggie to my photobucket account. I can resize them there and then copy the the "img" link into my siggie. I am so not looking forward to the kids driving here....though with DS, I might not have to worry about that for a while. And it honestly is the other drivers you have to worry about. As long as she stays very aware of those other nuts, she'll be great. :car:

I'm off for now. DD6 wants to fill out her valentine's for school. I'll up-date you later about the school situation.

Its a lot of help, actually. Thank you. Just talking about it here helps me solidify things in my own mind. Yes, there is another child DSs age, and he just adores playing w/ her. She's not there on one of the days he's there, and I know he misses her. It is hard to get straight answers, but we do try to ask. We just don't want to get him saying what we are afraid of if its not true. You know how adept kids are at picking up on what they think you want them to say. What I really need to do is win the lottery so I can just stay home!!!

MagiKitty - I'll have to remember to be specific about how much though!

Disney54us - Good luck w/ the driving! That must be a stressful. But, there are inconsiderate nutty people whether you are walking, driving or riding a bike. She just needs to be careful. That must've been so weird seeing her on the road!

Almost forgot -

AUDisfan - I just discovered Bare Escentuals this year, and I LOVE it. I got the TSV we had a while back in the little green and pink bag. I never used to wear foundation, but since DS, I have terrible circles. (I'm one of those people who doesn't have to miss much sleep to look extremely tired.) I hated putting on thick coverup and I LOVE their bare minerals stuff.

I just saw a thread on the Welcome Board posted by lovetoscrap. It is about the looong threads they a piecing and then locking:confused3. It said they would have to SHUT DOWN THE BOARDS:scared1:, to do this. It did not say what time or how long. It was posted at 2:48Pm today.
Figures:sad2:, I just get back on the boards and they are going down. Bye killers

Don't despair. We'll still be here tomorrow. :surfweb:

AUdisfan transmission down on a 1 yr old car?!:scared1: :faint: :furious: Glad you were still able to go.
disney54us don't know why you can't fix your siggy :guilty: Computer maintenance is usually done late at night. :)

My kitty finally showed up after 4 days. :wizard: Couldn't tell you earlier because our mouse died. My DH dropped my vacuum and broke all sorts of pieces off it so we had to go out and buy a new mouse and vacuum. I WAS going to use my birthday money on new walking shoes for WDW. :sad2:

I'm so glad your kitty showed up!!! But, you're going to laugh... I thought you couldn't tell us b/c you were distraught that your pet mouse had died!!! I'm so glad that wasn't the case... I'm kind of under the weather and a little slow today.

I know its late, but if any of y'all check in before midnight, I just got a great tip. Go to Walgreens.com. You can order a "family pack" of photos online (have to upload the photo to their site just like snapfish or photobucket or whatever.) If you enter the code VALENTINE at checkout, it will be free. If you use in store pick up, there is no tax or shipping, so you really get a free pack of photos. (1 photo, but 4 4x6 copies, 2 5x7s and 1 8x10.) From what I understand, the code is only good for orders placed today though.

Hope this makes it to some of you all in time!

'Night.

Hey killers!

Finally made it back.

disney54us - I didn't forget about your recipe, but we never ate at Olivia's. In fact, we were so far from the Hospitality House, that I only went back over there once after we checked in. However, I do have the phone number for the kitchen at Olivia's from when I called about ordering a cake. I'll pm it to you if you want. If you call them maybe they could send it to you.

lighttech - love , love, love the BE. I was just looking at some stuff on QVC.com. Think I'm gonna have to order.:thumbsup2

dl55 - I'm so glad your kitty is back. It took me a minute to figure out what kind of mouse you were talking about too.

Okay, so we did eventually get to WDW. We had a great time even though it was hot and way more crowded than I expected. Apparently there is some sort of law in Louisiana that says that if you're not staying for Mardi Gras, you must go to WDW.:rotfl: Man, there were lots of Cajuns there! Anyway, the highlight of our trip wasn't anything exciting like winning the night in the castle suite or dream fast passes or a room upgrade to a 2 bedroom castle view suite at the Poly. Although, I kept hoping for all those things. The highlight was my 1 yr old DS getting his 1st haircut at the barber shop on Main St in the MK.:lovestruc He was just so sweet and so cute sitting up there getting a haircut in my favorite place in the whole world. I'm tearing up now just thinking about it. He is the worlds sweetest baby and a real cutie patootie too! he never cried or fussed, just sat there looking at her like "Just what are you doing back there." I wish, I wish, I could post a picture, but my ancient computer just can't do it. There was a wonderful woman working that day (Penny) who saved the hair for me in a tissue with some Mickey confetti and sealed it with a Mickey sticker. We also got a certificate that says he got his first haircut there and a pair of Mickey ears with "First haircut" embroidered on the back. It was just a wonderful experience. So, not to worry killers, that is the memory that will stick out in my mind from this trip, not the car thing. Although, I think the car makes a great story! Now that it's over.

Later killers!

Audisfan-oh my, that is just so precious. How I wish I could have had something like that done with DS. It brings tears to my eyes just hearing about it. That certainly make the car trouble seem so little now.

Ok, now the school situation here. Still no word from the school district and I'm pretty ticked. But stepmom's oldest son works for school district so I'm going by what he says for the moment. There has been a threat made against the school district and the police are involved. According to him, the supposed day of the threat, it is opitional to send you children to school. And there is suppose to extra police presense, including K-9 units, at the school where the word first came down. Nobody knows if this is a hoax but until I know otherwise, I don't think I will be sending my kids to school that day.

hey killers!

audisfan - that is the greatest story with the haircut and DS. my nephew got that great mickey ear hat, and certificate. when we were there in november, my son never had a haircut (believe it or not. he was about 17mos), but we just couldn't get over there. now i'm so so so sad that i didn't do that. it would've been so special. how nice that you got to do that with your DS!!

i still couldn't figure out what kind of mouse died. i'm pretty slow sometimes.

i'm going to go check out bare essentials. when i had my hair done for BILs wedding, that's what they used. this is really embarrassing, i never wear make up so i really don't know how to put it on! :guilty: will i be able to figure it out?

ok much more to say, but my son is waking up now. not bad though, 8:15.:woohoo:

Oh I didn't think I couldn't do it due to maintience, I can't do it b/c I'm computer challenged:laughing:, just need a good reason other then my lack of skills. Glad kitty is back:yay:, I too thought you lost your 'pet mouse':rotfl2:.

:worship: :worship:, thank you yes if you would pm me the number that would be great!!! Did you like being that far from Hospitality?? Some people love being back there (especially if they come in with a car). It makes them really feel like it's their 'home', others like to be near HH. I love the story about the H/C how sweet and what a great memory you will have of the first Haircut:cloud9:.

Okay, so much for communication:confused3, Sorry but this is crazy, hoax or not they need to address the situation w/the parents!
My DD's school just started w/Honeywell (one of those companies), I received a letter that you can imput your email address cell # home # even other #'s like grandparents or babysitter (for younger ones). Then you select how and what you want to be notified. It is everything from weekly updates to if the school went into lock down. I set the account up and put her cell number for text notification for lock down, I know they are not suppose to have their phones on them but they do and if some nut case is roaming around I want her notified. Anyway, the thing is that you can click to test it and the email came through in about 5 min. the text took 20 min or so:confused3, So much for quick notification!

Been using it for a couple of years, I like it well enough, sometimes I think I need more, you know I'm not under 13 anymore:laughing:, It is very quick, and you don't feel it DD uses it, got my DS using it. So try it, you'll like it!
I think we all though DL's mouse died as in pet:rotfl2:.

Hey killers, while I was dis'ing away DH has the Travel Channel on they are doing a WDW show right now all about Animal Kingdom,. This is EST 9:20.

It was on 9:00 am Disney's Animal Kingdom, then Disney's Cruise Line, then, Disney World Undiscovered. I checked my guide and it doesn't look like they are repeating it today, but maybe they will show it during the week. If I remember correctly you have Direct Tv and DVR.
:rotfl2: :rotfl: No not my son (I didn't think of that when I used DS) I meant my Sister:rotfl2:. It's 3 easy steps as the infomercial says.

i just came up to post because as i thought about it, i figured out you must have meant your sister. that's funny though!

AUdisfan First haircut is a wonderful memory :cloud9: Glad you still had a fun time. :goodvibes

I agree that "DS" can be confusing at times. :upsidedow
I missed the Disney shows  Although I probably could recite them word for word.

Hey ya'll!

I hope everyone is having a great day. It is beautiful here.

magsnden - you could definitely do BE. If you buy the get started kit like I did, it comes with an instructional DVD. It's really easy. We have a small store here that sells it so I went there and they helped me decide on a foundation color and gave me instructions there as well. They also sell it at Sephora if you have one near you. We don't, which is probably a good thing. You will love it if you try it. Very light weight. Go for it!:thumbsup2

disney54us - I'm going to send you the numbers now. I didn't really like being way over on Turtle Pond Rd. It was quiet and peaceful and we had a ground floor room on the golf course and the pond, which was nice, but I like being close to Hospitality House. It's easier to get to the store and the take out food service. When we go in Dec, we'll be staying at VWL which is our home resort and my very favorite. We just stayed at OKW this time to save on points.

Well, time to go do :laundy: .

Later killers!
