Wow, I leave town for a week, and come back to changes like crazy.

Hope everyone had a great holiday and is off to a good start on the New Year. I've had laryngitis for going on five days now - great way to be when visiting my sisters and other assorted family members.

I managed to find my way to the new location, so hopefully I can get caught up!

We had a quiet New Years. Kids were so pumped up. We each ate our favorite meal and then played games until ball drop. We had a balloon drop at our house too. We dumped a big box of balloons from the second floor. It was cute. Did some fireworks at midnight and then got the kids to bed. The best part is they slept until 9am the next morning. They've never slept later than 7:30 before. Tomorrow will be the hard part. Waking them up for school. I dred that moment.

I don't remember I think I blocked it out ha ha. Yea, Ours was pretty quiet too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your balloon drop idea!!!

My big excitement was watching some guy jump a football field on ESPN. DS (19) decided to spend a quiet evening in the sports room with his girlfriend since she was born at midnight Dec 31 in 88 (second baby in NC that year..pretty cool haha, and DD (16) spent the night at a friends who had a (supervised) all night party. So the "stress" ended earlier than I thought for me. YAY!!!

Ha ha. I saw your PM today when I got back to work. I guess because I didn't log out of Yahoo before leaving work it didn't tell me you had messaged when I logged in from home. I am sorry...and here I pride myself on answering all my messages at work haha. We use Yahoo, believe it or not, to talk to a lot of our vendors. So much quicker. (I didn't want you guys to think I slack all day on yahoo at work haha.)

As I was hitting submit to my above post, our phone rang. It was my brother in law letting us know that my FIL called and wants the family to meet at his house on Saturday to discuss the results of his lung tests (they found some spots in a routine checkup) Kinda scary since he is normally a tell it like it is guy.

Just trying to round up lots of prayers for him.

Hopefully he is just going to give a "Close Call" speech, but early prayers never hurt anyone.

I'm sorry about the root canal, Pepper. I've never had one but DH has so I know it's no fun. As we say here in the South, "Bless your heart!"

I've said a prayer for your FIL and will continue to remember him. Please let us know how it goes.

NY eve we invited the neighbors to come play Wii-it was too funny. After awhile the kids went upstairs to watch movies and left it to the adults-we were getting too rowdy for them

Hi, my DS knows how to do that! One more thing to add to my list of what to learn in 08

disney54us-I think I can answer some of your questions as to why we were moved, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong. In my opinion, it appears to me that they want to keep the welcome board as a place for new users to get pointed in the right direction to have their questions asnwered. We can still pop over there and help new users and even point them to our thread. We all know how it feels to start a thread and just have the replies stay at 0.

I also think we were moved because we had become quite chatty about things that weren't always Disney related. I think the community board is more for chatting about anything and I guess we kinda fit there now too. As to the difference between the Welcome Board and Community Board, I don't know. Except the Community board has way more threads and it sure can make it harder to find ours.

But all this is just my opinion on what happened. I could be totally wrong.

Well, the one day I don't get on the computer Threads get moved! I had no trouble finding you as I always use my subscription list. I'm partial to our original title as the words "Thread killers" are in a different position in the title, making it easier to differentiate. But I'll go along with the majority (as if I could do anything anyway )
We spent New Years watching the parade and then football all day.
I gave my DH a Nintendo DS for Christmas. I wasn't sure he would enjoy the games we bought. Every time I would look around he was playing. I noticed that he took it to work with him. I hope he doesn't get in "trouble" (children.... )

I know, quite shocking.

Well, Good Morning everyone. I'm still going to the welcome board and we are still listed there (just no post count) but if you click I can still bring up board. Seems like everyone had a nice NY's. Made dinner surf & turf, and watched the ball drop and went outside w/ DS banging those pots. NY's day made a late brunch for DM and her friend. other then that very relaxing day (I love those!). I would love the soup recipe, getting cold and I have a ham bone left. For those of you who are not the make it yourself type just want to let you know the Mickey wreath is on sale for $24.50, was tring to use a pts. card that was to expire on the 31st. so I went online to check what I could buy. Didn't get to choose anything, so now I have to see if they will extend the date . From what I've been reading, everyone is having the same problem w/notifications and they are still working on that. Hopefully it will be up and running soon.

Morning everyone!!! It is sooo cold here today. I hate the cold. And yet next week, they are predicting temps back into the 50's. I just can't take changes like that.

Have a little news to share. DH and I were invited to go to Vegas in 2009. And with no kids. We have never been before though both my parents have gone multiple times. They say it's nice. Has anybody else been there? I know it's a long way off but it's never too early to get the ball rolling.

how's your tooth doing? even though i am a dentist i have had more root canals than i care to admit. usually the next day is the most sore, and after that you should be better. sometimes though, there is no pain at all. i truly hope that's how you are today!!

I hope I get the same luck or for my bookings later in the month. We want to go during Christmas '08. I have never done a day-to-day. I hope I get it right.

First time in 10 years, that I did it this way, but with more and more members and more people booking day to day, I figured especially with Thanksgiving, that I better join the crowds and go day by day.

dreamin in pa Las Vegas is fun! I just love all the lights. We check out the hotels. Some have free a show in front (Bellagio, Treasure Island, Mirage).
