Help!... Do I have to remove my "Thread Killer" title? Every time I post on another thread, someone else now comes along and says.."I see you're a thread killer and I didn't want this thread to die, so..."
It's kind of giving me a complex. :o

Why don't you invite them to our thread and maybe they'll understand?:thumbsup2 :surfweb: :cheer2:

:bday:disney54us party: :dancer: Hope you had a great time!

Somehow i missed the post... I tend to skim when I come back on if there's more than a page or two (whodda thunk there'd be multiple pages in just a few hours way back when on page 1)... So

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Posting to post my 300th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I NEVER would have thought that I would be into Disney this much. At this time 1 1/2year ago I was the BIGGEST DIS HATER you'd ever seen. I wanted nothing to do with Dis or the trip but one day on our trip in 06 .............. story later. My sis (hence blame my sister) is the one who opened my eyes up to alot that is involved with Disney. And I can't thank :thanks: her enough cause it's given me a 2nd childhood to enjoy with my family.

:disrocks:

I'm intrigued by the "thread killer" complex on other boards. Are they mean about it? Or are they friendly? Maybe they're scared....you know, the bearer of bad tidings. I agree, invite them on in. I actually have not received any comments on my thread killer banner yet. I've also invited some people over but no one's taken me up on my offer :sad1:

Try the chili! I actually made it last night and it was yum yum good! I actually kinda think it was better as leftovers for lunch today. Definitely a keeper recipe!

I love birthdays, I'm celebrating my 26th (wink wink) AGAIN next week!

M&N...I may have missed you, but drive safe and have a fantastic time!

blamemysister...congrats on the 300th!

Happy Belated Birthday, Disney54us - now you're a teenager! :rotfl2:

As for thread killer comments, if it hasn't happened to them, they wouldn't understand

Nobody is mean - they just stop talking to you! :rotfl2: Or you find yourself posting.. "anybody, anybody?"

That's if they talk to you:banana:, or do they totally skip your reply and address the person who replied the same thing (after yours), to them as if what you just wrote is in invisible ink:confused3.

Thanks, about the chili, I agree, I always like those kind of things better the next day! That's why I would make it for my Halloween open house the night before. I feel that way about lasagna, (misspell) etc. I just think they need time to settle and the flavors blend.

Now, now don't be a Thread Killer, you have to let us know when next week is you '26th' b-day!!!

Thanks MAGICFOR2 for the wishes on my very special teen age b-day:rotfl2: .

Disney54us-if you wouldn't mind, could I get that chili recipe too. We just love meals like that on these cold winter days us north. And the fact that chili is great as leftovers is even better...one less day of cooking for me.

Well, we finally found out when we can take vacation next year. We had to wait on my dad to get his week's vacation approved. We are going for Thanksgiving next year. That is actually the week we wanted since I will have 4 kids in school by then.

There will be 12 of us all together from the ages of 5 to 56. My dad hasn't been to Disney since 1999 and his fiancee and her kids have never been there. And to top it all off, my dad's fiancee has put me in charge of planning the whole thing.:scared1: So if anyone has any advice about big groups at Disney or Disney at Thanksgiving, please send them my way.:goodvibes

p.s. where did everyone get those thread killers banner?

Hey ya'll!

Thanks for the recipe Disney54us! It looks good and I'll be sure to try it soon. Tomorrow I'm planning to bake cookies with my DD and a red velvet cake. Yum!

dreamininpa- Someone pmd me the thread killer banner. I would be glad to send it to you if I could figure out how.:confused3 Someone more computer literate than me will be happy to send it when they see your post.

Looks like you and I will be in the same boat cause we are planing to take all of my in laws next xmas and they have giving me the honor of doing it all as well. :headache:

But like my sis would say you wouldn't like it any other way cause they don't know half of what is there and any of their special requests can be handled, but then anything more than that makes you look like a hero. And they'll appreciated it any way cause they will be SO overwhelmed.:scared1:

As for the sign I'll se what I can do.

Check you PM and enjoy any questions just pm me. Wow, 12 all together :dance3: , you can do all of those special things, that you need at least 8 or more. Look into the 'cruise' boats that are out on the lagoon for illuminations, and they do that to at MK. If you go on the WDW's site after clicking awhile I think they have a area where you can click and they list all the different special events that large parties can book. I think they started that a few years ago. I think we are going to try to go at the same time:yay:. We have never been for Thanksgiving, usually go right after. Since Thanksgiving, comes out late, my b-day a couple of days after and then your into the beginning of Dec., we thought well if we go in right before we cover it all! I'm a DVC member and booking has become more difficult in recent years, so I'm hoping I can get in:goodvibes. I think it would be fun to be the 'event planner' for the family trip:cheer2:. Blame my sister, you really could become the "hero" of the family, as long as they like what you planned:laughing:.

Good Saturday my friends! Am finishing up some holiday decorating and planning to seal up some packages to mail out later in the week. Brisk but clear up here, but may get some real snow tomorrow.

Wow, you guys are brave! While I love the idea of a huge group of people on vacation together, I can't imagine the logisitics of it all! We usually just travel as BF and I, and I get to do all the planning and that's fine with me! I look forward to watching how these grand plans shape up.

BF and I were talking last night and he's given up on visiting WDW every three years. He said if we can do it on budget and well planned, we should try to do it every year. I think we may try to stay onsite next time, hopefully at a time with free dining. I'll have to crunch some numbers out. If you go through Disney or AAA, you can pay in installments, right?

While we may have to give up the holiday decorations, (something quite dear to our hearts) it would be great if we could go when the parks are open later. I'm giddy just thinking about visiting EPCOT again!

This past trip we joined some other families for a Wishes cruise and it was amazing! It felt so luxurious having a private boat with piped in music and snacks. The view was absolutley breathtaking. Would love to do it again if we had the opportunity. I think you guys, if the wallet permits, try to do it. Its a wonderful experience.

Good grief, miss one day and there's 3 pages.
:cheer2: Congrats AUdisfan for earning your ears.
:bday: disney54us. I've always suspected your age was over 13 (I see that 54 in your user ID) :rotfl2:
I don't think I could handle plans for 12 people. My family doesn't communicate so everyone would be upset 'cause I didn't know what they wanted to do. Please let us know how it turns out.

Maybe we should change the thread killer banner to "Recovering Thread Killer". Then maybe people wouldn't treat my posts like the plague. :rotfl2:

Thanks everyone who suggested Photobucket! Its making my trip report so much easier. I'm being able to put in a bunch of photos, and I originally didn't think I'd be able to add any. (I originally didn't think I'd even HAVE a trip report.) I feel so savvy. :surfweb:

Wow!! Good news on the changing BF opinion. I wish I could convince DH to visit more often.

As far as staying onsite goes... check it out. We never thought we'd be able to afford it, and it turned out to be a better deal than staying offsite when all was said and done.

Also, check out Disney Visa. I signed up for one specifically for this trip, and they do 6 month no interest financing on "select vacation packages." It helped immensely, AND I wound up w/ a code for a discount on my hotel stay from them.

Disney54us-I got the pm and thanks. A winter storm is heading our way on Sunday so that will be perfect meal. Cool that you are thinking of going around the same time. We went in August of this year and just didn't care for that time of year except for being able to go to the P&PP.

I'm not too worried about planning for 12 since 6 of us are my family. That's the easy part. And 5 of our group have never been before so even if I don't plan perfectly, they will never know. But my dad might be the small problem...he thinks he knows everything :rolleyes1 and for once I just might have him beat.

MagiKitty, I'm gonna look into one of those firework cruises. They seem to be something that will wow everyone in our group.

We are home!! we flew into JFK last night at about 9:30. it is definitely nice to be home, but i don't know what happened here, i woke up to snow and ice and all!!!! yesterday i was sweltering (sp?) in florida and last night FREEZING!!!!

well we had an AWESOME time! even with all 15 of us (if you recall). the kids got to have a couple of "magical moments," nothing major like dream fastpasses, but we did NOT need them anyway! that is the week to go my killer friends!! let me tell you, if you can manage it, you MUST go the week after thanksgiving. we walked on almost everything, like space, splash and the other mountain (i forget :confused3 sorry), everest (the kids wanted to go 2 times in a row, so we did), kali (again twice in a row) - and get this, my 3-year old went with us twice, got soaked both times, and TOTALLY LOVED IT!! also rockin roller coaster - walked on! i don't know about any of you, but that has NEVER happened to me.

ok i better get downstairs, i hear my son got right back to his favorite hobby, emptying the dishwasher!!! he must be so happy, he hasn't been able to do that it in a week!!

That's awesome!!!!!!

We were afraid with my daughter when we went in April this year. She was 5 and just made the 42" mark for the bigger rides. She went on them all. Tower of Terror, Test Track, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Sorin, and she may just make the Space Mountain min (teaching her to stand tall). With the 2 yr old he went on the rides that he could go on as well. That's what makes it so much fun to see the expressions on their faces. They even let him sit in the driver seat on the go karts.:car:

Magikitty there is also a site called mousesavers.com who will tell you everything you need to know how to save and whatever specials are going on. That is where we got our tickets for the parks. Definatly worth a look.:thumbsup2

Magsnden..Welcome back! So glad to hear your trip went well. A few of us are working on Trip Reports at the moment, learning together. Maybe you could write one too! We just learned how to post pics successfully this week. I feel like computer kindergarten 101.

So funny, I WAS just on Mousesavers, looking at the info there. Great minds think alike! Between the Dis and Mousesavers, I should be going crazy in a few days. So much to know, so much to consider! BF is pretty much on board for a trip on 2008. Yah-hoo!

Woke up to nearly three inches of snow! Am giggling because right now, the weather guy is assuring me that the commute tomorrow will be pretty rough, considering the snow/ice WILL START later this afternoon. Can't he take a look outside? Its already here! Am so not ready to go out and shovel...
