Hey ya'll!

Thanks for all the help on the transfers guys! I knew ya'll would come through for me.:thumbsup2 I think with DH helping me with the computer technical stuff, I can do it. Maybe even without him.;) I'll be headed to Hobby Lobby tomorrow. I hope they have the shirts I need too. Wish me luck.

Baby crying instead of sleeping. Gotta go.

Whew! It took me basically two days to do it, but I am finally caught up and there is just too much to comment on, except that YOU GUYS ROCK! So much help and support, fun and laughter, goodwill and big hugs. I'm so proud to know each of you.

This is totally off-topic (which I seem to excel at, BTW) but I have to give a huge shout out to all the mommies, daddies, teachers, babysitters, anyone who takes care of little ones. I spent most of my vacation with my 2 year old cousin, sort of a trial-baby run. She's quite possibly the best baby ever...no crying, no fussing. Sleepy? She'll just put her head down and sleep. Will eat anything, gives big sloppy kisses. If I could have fit her in my luggage, I would have. Besides this amazing disposition, having a little one absolutely made me paranoid, crazy, a big worry-wart. I was constantly afraid she would fall down the stairs, manifest an absurd allergy, choke on something, plug something into an outlet. It was so hard being responsible for a little one. I was so afraid all the time.

That being said, I never fully realized how tiring being in charge of a little one must be. I know, sounds so shallow. So those of you who have been taking care, loving, raising a precious little one deserve the biggest of thanks, the loudest of applause. What an amazing thing you do everyday. You need to be celebrated more.

I'm still trying to upload my pics. The wedding photographer gave me a rough copy of the wedding photos and I'm trying to go through and choose the ones I want to make into prints. Its taking forever.

I missed everyone! GL on the iron-on transfers. I never thought of doing something crafty for a trip...what a good idea. Something else to annoy the BF with...but he's been feeling sorely neglected so I think he'll put up with any of my crazy ideas just to be with me. What a trooper.

Thanks! DH really wants to do one too, so I'm thinking we might split the bill, and I'll do the dessert and let him to the entree. (DH is a great cook.) But, I'm kind of pushing him towards your gin marinade recipe. It looks so YUMMY!

I might do the dip anyway though, it sound like a really interesting combo, and so easy!
I would push him to make the beef w/gin & soy marinade, a great cook on your hands:yay:. I would do the dip since it takes no time and you'll have another recipe, and if you do a dessert you guys will have it covered:rotfl:

I think I'm going to make a banner for my siggie I Want a Hobby Lobby!, of course we know I can't do siggies:rotfl2: .

I guess we've been :chat: very chatty, but glad you caught up:). Your little cousin sounds so cute and everyone's dream, sleeps, eats no fussing:thumbsup2. Cant' wait to see pic's and hear more about the trip when you get settled. Don't worry, we realize you will need to catch up w/BF, I mean I guess we understand;) :rotfl:.
Running out to the market, talk to you later killer's!

Those transfers do sound easy. Do you get the transfer paper at Hobby Lobby? Would Walmart have them? The nearest Hobby Lobby for me is an hour and 15 min away. Do you need photo editing software?

I got my transfer paper at Michaels and they also sell the t-shirts (on sale for $2.50) Walmart might carry them in the craft section.

You do not need photo editing software unless you want to make changes to the image. You might be able to use Microsoft Paint, which everyone has in their accessories program, if you want to crop a picture.

Saw the warning about the web master shutting down all long threads for a while tonight. Have we decided if we are going to start a new one. If so, please be sure to let us all know where to find us.

Thanks for the heads up re: closing down of long threads. Webmaster Alex clarified it as being "10,000 posts or longer", so we don't need to worry. Can you imagine those mega-threads? Wow! But I'm so glad that we won't be affected (hopefully) tonight and tomorrow...we're still some 8,400 posts away from becoming a MEGA. I need to DIS! Been going through withdrawal...

This is taking forever-cannot get the thing to go to next page. I read 107 but it turned off when trying to get 108 and said it wasn't responding. I think (and we all know how much computer knowledge most of us have ;) ) that it's this board. Our thread isn't as long as many. The anouncement said 10,000 posts and we aren't that long.
We could call it Thread Killers United. Because we are now...but how would our killers who are away find us?
I had a stressful day with friend in the ER today (instead of the lunch we planned) so I cannot take any more changes now...:headache:
I'll check in tomorrow...hopefully we're not killed.

thank goodness we won't be shut down. When I first saw the thread, they didn't say what the cutoff number of posts would be. Wish they would have said so in the first place.

M&N

:drinking1 Take one of these and Dis us in the morning.

Not sure if this would include us but I wanted to make sure everyone knows just in case it does.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1698385

Wow, where did you see that?? I haven't really checked many threads, since as I mentioned yesterday or the day b/f I was having trouble. It was taking forever, and then saying it wasn't responding etc.

Hmmm, so maybe we just need to start a brand new thread with the same name???
Welcome back, Hope you enjoyed yourself. You will have to fill us in:goodvibes.

ER, what happened???? I hope your friend is okay:love:.
ditto, yes the boards ran slow before the 'upgrade', but we new we could get a fresh cup of coffee and come back:rotfl2:. Since the 'upgrade', aside from the first few hours, it is worse:sad2:.

thank goodness we won't be shut down. When I first saw the thread, they didn't say what the cutoff number of posts would be. Wish they would have said so in the first place.

M&N

What would we do if we were shut down:scared1:, I would sort of hate if we had to start fresh. dreamin, wasn't it funny to go back and read earlier pages when you were looking for magikitty? Now of course the time may come when we hope they do that b/c we are thinking I can't believe I posted that:rotfl2:.
Taking a look at what long going threads are doing to the boards?? Me, computer challenged could probably figure it slows it down, but I feel for those people they have so much time and a history together it would be a shame if it wasn't there. If that is going to take place, I hope they give them notice so they can print it out (like a manuscript) and have it if they want:goodvibes.

What would we do if we couldn't get on killers:confused3 :scared1:, do we remember how we were going in panic mode before the shut down, and that was only going to be a few hours in the middle of the night!

Hi all!

Hello to all the newbies and all you lookers.:wave2:
Come join the party!party:

Work and the weather and the kids have been keeping me busy and tired.
Was a high of 9 today. :scared1:

Went to the HSM on ice last nite w/ my daughter, neice, and sister (yes that sister). And from an adults(using that term VERY LOOSELY;) ) wasn't too bad. About ten big moves and 4 were falls BUT alot of the other stuff they did was insane! Playing basketball on the ice and all the other dancing things were good. Kept the kids entertained and they loved it and that is what matters to me.

The merchandice was big time $$$$$ but had to get then a couple of the lower end stuff. Even joked w/ the sis about puting the stuff on ebay and she found some of it on there already last night!

Looking into our trips in May and Dec this year. Going to take it easy in May.
So I pose a question.......
Has anyone done the Grand Gatherings at EPCOT? We have 8 people going in Dec and would like to do it. Anybody for the yeah or neigh?

 For all of you. Great to see this thread growing.

:welcome: back whgrn

:wave2: blame my sister I tried to find info on the grand gatherings four our trip in Nov but it's so hard to find anything. Seems like people don't talk much about them. If you find anything out, let me know.

disney54us-yeah, it was a riot looking back over our old posts. At least mine were because I was worried about fitting in here and not killing this thread too. :rotfl2:

And if shutting down these mega-threads helps these boards run better, I'm all for it. I mean after the first 20 thousand posts, how many people will start reading from the 1st page? Not many, I bet

:welcome: back whgrn

Awww, thanks!!! Canyon Ranch was AWESOME!!!!! For full details, go to my WISH Journal (link is in my siggie). It was truly a life changing experience!. To sum things up VERY briefly:

1) I am now eating as close to 100% organic as possible. Totally "clean" foods. I was already pretty good before I went, but much better now.

2) I have upped my exercise and included interval training to really increase my endurance.

3) I have made taking care of me my #1 priority. I'm not talking about pampering and stuff like that (altho it IS nice...). I mean eating right, exercising, getting the medical care and therapies I need so I can heal and get WELL!!!

4) I made an appointment with a Neuromuscular Therapist for this Saturday. I had my first experience at Canyon Ranch and the effects were amazing and immediate!

5) I am finally taking all the supplements I should have been taking for the last 7 years. My nutritional status is so far out of whack it isn't funny. I'm deficient in all sorts of things, starting with serious deficiencies in iron and vitamin D.

6) I had testing for food allergies and sensitivies. It is possible that many of my problems may be caused or worsened by eating foods that my body can't handle.

Like I said, MAJOR life changing!! The good thing is that my sister, who went with me, is doing most of the same things I am, so we can support each other (even tho it will be long distance support, since she lives in Turkey).

So that's where I've been. Had to go to the grocery store every day this week--I'm still working on the food plan! But I will say this--I'm NEVER hungry, with all the food I'm eating! Many times, I can't finish what I'm supposed to eat!!:rotfl:

Morning Killers---Cannot believe I'm the first one on. You Moms must be having a rough time with the kids this am. Just had to see where our thread was this am...on page 2...so we are still here. I did have to try 2 times to get us to show.
After ordering lunch yesterday, a friend had to be taken to the ER. She felt light headed, had pain in chest and felt like a hot surge went through her. The resturant people were so nice---called the ambulance, packed up our sandwiches, offered to feed the meter. It was hectic for my other friend and I to figure out what to do. I was praying and she was with our friend. Tried to call her hubby but we did get him after we were at the ER. I had to drive her car---Honda Element--I call it a toaster. My other friend came from a different direction so had her own car. None of us live in the town we were in but the hospital was about 20 min away and I used to live near the hospital so at least I was sure of the roads. I was worried when I was driving because I left the ambulance before it left and it was a while before it passed me. They did admit her but still not sure what caused it. She's my age--57. The other friend had a stress related heart attack in June, right after we retired. And she's not overweight! So needless to say, I was a little shaken up. I felt better when I got her car back to her garage and I got back to my house. When I called the hospital last night, she said her liver enzimes are elevated. I guess that could cause her bp to get low.
Anyway, thanks for listening. It's just another reminder that God's in charge and we need Him for the big and small things.

WOW!

You 'Thread Killers' must of been working overtime last night! :lmao:

hey everyone, i posted but it's taking forever, so i thought i'd try here at quick reply.

we're having a great time here in wdw and sadly have to go home tomorrow. we're missing the kids so i guess it's ok. can't wait to catch up! welcome back magikitty. i hope everythings ok with you.

:wave2: magsnden Glad you are having a good time.

M&N, :grouphug: and I'll keep your friend in my prayers that everything turns out ok.

Boards are working great for me this morning. Kinda strange to not have the time to get another cup of coffee while a page is loading. :rotfl:

Good morning killers, I was:crazy: when I could not get on last night. Was posting a recipe, thanks that thread has great recipes and my dip has been added to the 'wish list' so there may be hope:cheer2:. I might have to dble post since I have so many multi's to coment on and then I have to go back and delete smilies. So I just typed recipe clicked to submit and was going to come back to killers. It wouldn't click through (not responding), couldn't get on killers:scared1:. Figured I would try later, Had to do letter to crazy consignment shop owner:eek:, so she would finally pay me. (Story at 5 :rotfl:) Later in evening, tried to get on, through notification and then just regular way, would not let me on:headache: :scared1:. I realize this is a cult, someone wrote a thread about that, and I do believe that when I couldn't sign on, the little panic that took over we are addicted:rotfl:. Have to write quick, taking DM for re check for her eye and DD home sick again. I did notice that they moved the smilies around and if you go to more it give you a # count (check it out).

:welcome: Back, was wondering what happened to you!! Always loved the Dis on ice shows, yeah pricey still have those books but DD doesn't let me throw them out. Magikitty was on a grand gathering on her last trip. I remember her talking about it.

It is fun reading through the old pages. You see if they keep them one day, when I am no longer computer challenged and I can have cool siggies and use words like cute, paste, properties, upload in my regular vocabulary. Wouldn't it be nice to go back and read all those post w/you guys trying to explain to me how to do the easiest things:rotfl:. Why would you be worried about fitting in:confused3, I think we all have a fear of killing a thread:rotfl:, it's just one of those things that will always stay w/us:laughing:.
So glad everything is going well for you:goodvibes. It sounds great, will have to check out your journal later:thumbsup2.

Well so much for having a nice lunch w/friends. You must have been scared. Glad to hear she is doing better, and it was not her heart:goodvibes. I guess it's best they kept her and they will run all the test they need, Then she can feel confident when they send her home. Poor thing know wonder why you needed to go to sleep.

WOW!
