Hi again Disney54us!

Well, spent the weekend in NYC with my group of friends and family, and all I can say is I'M TIRED! It was so good to see everyone again and to have fun (we attended the Comic Convention and saw a show of the Kids in the Hall), but I am nursing a headache and am just dragging today. And I didn't even drink! I think my aging body just couldn't keep up. I'll try to post pics later on when I get them from my sister.

Nope, we managed to miss the Pope, but I got free street parking. My cousin was supposed to see him, but he left the barricaded area to get water and they wouldn't let him back in! His wife was furious at him! But she did get to see the Pope drive by...

BTW--I attended a panel about the new Disney film Wall-E and it was just adorable! I can't wait to see it. It looked so good. They also previewed the Prince Caspian, and the boys who play Prince Caspian and Peter were there. It looks good too, and I loved the first movie!

Hate when multi quoting goes awry!!!! Congrat's on your first paying landscape design job!!!!! Way to go. My herb question was and I feel funny asking I know you've been busy. If you had any herb seeds left??? Planting season has finally sprung, okay it did and today feels like fall:confused3, so no big deal if your to busy didn't want to duplicate though.

Oh my gravy, I thought that had been sent off already:headache: (no smiley thunking forhead with palm of hand) Just checked DH's desk and there it sits. It will be on the way.
Don't worry about duplicating- I need reminders all the time.
Sorry to have made you ask.:upsidedow

Hi everyone!!! I don't want to risk multi-quoting only to have it disappear so I'll just comment on everything. :goodvibes

wvgoofyfan-Welcome back. And so sorry about your loss. :grouphug: I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Bopsmom- :cheer2: A paying job dong something you love. Good luck and tell us how it all turns out. WHAT!!! You would tell on me? :scared1: Gee, and I thought we were friends. And I did pass along the one you posted on here so you are guilty of helping her cheat too. :rotfl2:

disney54us-whatever happened with the neighborhood kids must have been pretty bad if DH was fuming too. Now my mind is imagining all kinds of horrible things. Give your DS a :grouphug: from all of us.

D&DDisney-You must be so happy so be able to get outside finally. I can't even imagine getting over 100" of snow. How much for patio furniture? :scared1: That is outrageous. Is it coated with gold? :rotfl:

M&N-:wave2: How was your weekend?

MagiKitty-Sounds like you had a fun weekend. I saw the previews for Wall-E when we went to see the Hannah Montana movie and it does look good. And I'm sure my kids will love it. Do you know when it is suppose to hit theaters? I saw the previews for Prince Caspian too. DD12 is excited to see that one. She saw the first one with my dad and he'll take her to see this one. It's their special thing to do. :goodvibes

One year I got letter from the state saying I had not sent in my tax papers. I had someone do them for me but instead of mailing it I put it in the folder in my filing cabinet. Thankfully I did not owe anything but.....

Dreamin must be waiting for her phone call.

M&N-How'd you know? Am I that predictable? :rotfl2:

Bopsmom-I almost forgot but I think the animation program is only offered to the Y.E.S. program participants. I'll find out more when she gets home. It sounds like a pretty cool program and wish I could do it myself.

DD called early tonight. Everyone is totally worn out from being in the parks from rope drop until pretty late at night. They've gone to evening EMH most nights they have been there. They did the animation program this morning and they got to draw a pictures of Pluto. When she gets home, if it's ok with her, I'll scan it and post it for all of you. During the class, they also got to learn about Walt. Of course, since she is my DD, she said she already knew everything they talked about. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: Maybe I've done my job too well. :rolleyes1 They spent the rest of the day at Hollywood Studios. Jackie said the crowds were much smaller today and she got to ride TOT 3 times. :woohoo: Tomorrow is DTD for some shopping and they finally come home.

It was kinda a bad night here. DNeph's dog got hit by a car tonight and passed on. Their dog escaped from their yard and while they were out looking for him, they heard the accident. DNeph was with them while they looking for him and unfortunately saw the dog in the street after it happened. Poor kid was hysterical and rightly so. SIL and my nephew came up here while my brother took care of what needed to be done. We were able to at least get hm calmed down enough that he could at talk. Broke my heart to see him like that. :sad1: Bopsmom, even though you sent all those wonderful seed cards for my kids, I gave him the one of the morning glories to plant for his dog. I hope you don't mind but I wanted him to have something beautiful to remember his dog by instead of the image he has right now. And if you all don't mind, could you send a little pixie dust his way?

Dreamin:How sad. pixiedust: I know I wouldn't want to have seen it either. I'm sure it was a rough night. You were so sensitive to share your seeds. :flower3: I feel bad for the driver too. I hate it when a squirrel runs out in the street.
You can never do your job too well for your kids. I bet she's going to tell you lots when she gets home. I'm wondering how long that 1st conversation will be? Then later she'll say...I forgot to tell you...Then when you all go down again, she'll be pointing out places and telling you more stuff. It'll be cool. And why did you even ask if we wanted to see her drawings...:confused3 ...That's like asking is the sky blue? Of course!!!

My mom fell yesterday. She tripped on a space between her patio and yard. Thankfully the neighbor was out with her. She said she banged her head and bent her glasses. She scraped her hand and arm. She was shook up but didn't want me to come. She said she has bruises today. She has 2 knee replacements and that's a problem but she says one has bruise but feels ok---stiff but it works. She was changing her sheets when I called her this am. I said that didn't need to be done but she said it did so I guess she's ok...very stubborn too!

I've got to go vote after lunch. I'm going to change my walk route to go. I'm taking ID though. My mom heard they were checking that in some places. It is a beautiful day so weather should not keep people away.

Not that predictable! Just a Mom!
I wish DD and I could both do that program too:thumbsup2

I hope you don't mind but I wanted him to have something beautiful to remember his dog by instead of the image he has right now. I don't mind at all! I think it was sweet of you and I hope he finds as much solace in plants that I have always found.

pixiedust: pixiedust:   pixiedust: pixiedust: from both DD and me.
I am so sorry for his loss. :sad1: How old is you nephew? Does he live nearby?

Make sure he plants the seeds near something for them to climb on and where your SIL will want morning glories for a LONG time.
They re-seed like crazy.:)
In the late summer or fall when the seed pods develop and dry tell him to pick them off and save them for the next year. I use a ziploc bag and keep them in a drawer in the kitchen (dry dark place) He can do this for years or make his own seed cards to share with his friends or family or any of the neighbors along his dog's old walking route.

I haven't got anymore cards right now-my helpers would rather swim than help me right now.
They have stripped my strawberries though:scared1: so I will have to make them "work them off" and get them back on the task.

Happy Earth Day
:hippie:

Morning.

M&N-I feel bad for the driver too. He did stop and offered to help if he could. I know there are plenty of people who wouldn't and that would have made it worse. That must have been scary with your mom but she sounds like one tough cookie. Sending warm thoughts her way.

Bopsmom-DNeph is only 5 and yes, they do live nearby. Thanks for the tips about planting them and the idea about saving the seed pods for other years. He'll like that idea. I think this weekend, I'll head on down to his house and give him a hand with the planting. Thanks again.

Well, it's been a dramatic morning here. DD has called 2x because she had lost her wallet. I mean she had lost her wallet 2x in one day. Most of her money and her id was in it. I didn't care about the money but when they flew down, security did check everyone's id before they boarded. Thankfully, both times, the wallet got turned into lost and found with everything still in it. Let's just say, as of right now, she is not allowed to hold her wallet.

Anybody else having a stressful morning? :rotfl:

Happy Earth Day everyone!

But wow, reading the last few posts, I demand a do over.

dreamin...so sorry to hear about your Nephew and the dog. It is quite traumatic, but it sounds like it was dealt with as appropriately as possible. The seeds were a nice idea. Its hard to have something like an accident happen. And your DD was very lucky---twice! I think you need to get some needle and thread out and attach her wallet to her!

M&N...so glad to hear that your mom's ok! (I guess, relatively). Sounds like she's a great woman--you can't keep her down! Hope her bruises clear up quickly. And you get to vote today--yeah! The entire nation will be watching. I find all this interest in politics so exciting.

Bopsmom...you grow your own strawberries too? Yummy! You really have found your calling.

I think Wall-E comes out in June. I got to see about 10 minutes of it and it just made my day. I may have better luck dragging BF to see Prince Caspian, but he doesn't know that he's going to see Wall-E too....

I am very excited for my Chinese Chicken salad lunch. Its so fitting to the glorious weather we're having. Dad's coming back from his extended vacation on Friday--I hate having to do all this driving when gas is so expensive. After this, NO ONE is going anywhere anymore! (Not until I leave in September anyway...)

Hope the day gets better everyone! and stop to smell the flowers! :flower3: Big hugs...

I just had to gloat a bit. (I know, its unbecoming). I've moved into third place in my fantasy baseball league! I don't even know what I"m doing!

I know its just got some of the boys in a tizzy. They know I'm sports-challenged.

BTW---does anyone know what "utility" means on the baseball team? What should I be looking for? I've just been putting random guys in that spot, the ones I feel bad for benching.

Does this mean you don't have to be smart to watch baseball? :rotfl:

I think a utility player was one who could play various positions. But then I'm a Phillie Phanatic so I really am not smart. :lmao:

I got a Milky Way after I voted. There's 2 bars in 1 package. They said our ward may have 50% turnout---good. But they only have 1 machine. You could do paper. I cheated and drove because I needed stuff from the store and I had to pass the school on the way. I am going for the walk and NOT eating the candy bar (today).

Since there are two bars in the package, if you ate only one, it would only be HALF as bad...

Congrats on voting!

Hi everyone, I'm back!
Just finished catching up while doing :laundy: and burning popcorn.
Welcome to TBDave and welcome back to wvgoofy fan
D&DDisney sorry to hear of your DH's job worry.
Lots of children growing up quickly. :teacher:
MagiKitty I can't tell my DH about your success at fantasy baseball. When we left he was in last place. He checked when we got home and there was a lot of moaning. :sad2:
I plan on doing a trip report after I download some pictures.
My trip was fun but my DD had a hard time while house/pet sitting for us. First a long distance friend was diagnosed with cancer. She was notified that he died and suspects he committed suicide. Then a couple of days later she lost her job. :scared1: I suspect I may have to move her back home. :scared:

DL55 - Welcome back from vacation. Glad you had a good time. I was wondering how you were. Sorry to hear what your DD is going through.

Milky Ways for votes???? That's bribery - but yummy I bet.
Do us proud PA voters!!!

Happy Earth Day to All!!

Welcome back DL55! Glad to hear you returned safely and that the trip was good. Looking forward to your TR. So sorry about what your DD is going through. What a loss. Big hugs to her in this trying time...

pixiedust: for your DD. You go away for a relaxing vacation and come back to stress. I think Whgrn's tag is 'this is sooo not the life I signed up for'.
Maybe MagiKitty will give your DH some tips! Trip report with pictures sounds good. (I hope this is a diet coke can!)

BTW---cannot open the Milky Way---would eat both! (insert Smilie eating chocolate) I know there are volunteers for the other half but you're not here.

:welcome: BACK DL55!!! Glad you had fun on your trip and sorry to hear about what is going on with DD. When you have time, I'd love to see some pictures too.

MagiKitty-up to 3rd in your fantasy baseball league. :woohoo: Way to go!!! I do fantasy racing...soooo, do you know anything about racing? I could use some help breaking the top 10. :rotfl: :goodvibes Love the needle and thread idea for DD wallet. Much better than my idea of velcroing it to her forehead. :rotfl2: But seriously, we are going to have to come up some idea for her not to lose her wallet. So far, we've thought about getting her a new purse that has a key ring attached on the inside and then getting her one of those wallets on a chain like some guys have. We have seen cute dainty girls wallets like that. This way she can still get at her wallet but not run the risk of losing it.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts for DNeph. He's still young and has alot of questions about what happened. And you all know SIL, she's not exactly the sharpest knife it the block. I just hope she doesn't try to gloss over his feelings and never mention their dog or anything. Going to head over this weekend and help him plant some flowers in this dog's favorite spot our in the backyard.

DD is officially on her way home right now. She's suppose to call when the finally land. Won't be soon enough for me.

:welcome: BACK DL55!!! Glad you had fun on your trip and sorry to hear about what is going on with DD. When you have time, I'd love to see some pictures too.

I prefer hot glue or staples:thumbsup2
I threatened DD with one of the biker wallets with the big chain hangin' down. She was terrible about leaving her purse:sad2: -wallet and cell inside- all over the place. She has gotten better though.
DD is officially on her way home right now. She's suppose to call when the finally land. Won't be soon enough for me.
I hope she has a safe trip. Tell her she will have to write us a TR:thumbsup2

Wow, the threads have been busy!!! Life has gone beyond busy for me and has entered in to what I like to call "Arrggg mode" I even made a thread ha ha. It made me giggle and made me feel less stressed, so I hit "submit"

Beaker (new guy...remember him?) Is BEYOND strange...good worker, but weird.

Working on the companies 25th Anniversary party for Sept 20th. It is going to be a huge gala with employees from all over the country coming. How did I get this honor? Being the person that plans the local holiday parties for the past 12 years and everyone wants the party at the beach...

The party on top of a quadrupled workload, a Sr. VP that seems to have lost his village (get it village idiot hee hee), and my "inherated problem employee" has made my life almost laughable. I will be ready for Disney World when it comes.

Did get a bit of bad news yesterday. I have been expecting it, but it still stings. My Grandfather (last living Grandparent) has bone cancer. The Dr's have called the family to visit. We are heading up this weekend on the way to DS baseball tournament. Gonna be a tough day, but we have all come to grips with it. Even my Grandfather has, he is ready. Okay on with the mulit-quotes:

hey everyone!! Loving this weather. :goodvibes

pepperw23-looks like you've been keeping this thread going by yourself today. :rotfl2: Thanks for the info on the baseball. I used to watch alot with my dad when I was a teen. I bet closing is filled with all kinds of pressure. I don't think I could deal with that kind of pressure. Keep us updated on his team. I'd love to hear all about it. You're going to disney You're going to have to fill me in on the cabins. Especially the transportation there. I imagine it being very hard and time consuming to get around. But I think it looks very rrelaxing there.

You are very welcome. Love to talk baseball!!!

I will fill you in on the cabins for sure. I have heard the transportation is tough, but we are not in any hurry, heck we will be on vacation. Relaxing sounds good about now. ;)

Just saying hi real quick. DS is outside playing while DH does some yard cleanup. so, I've got a few blessed minutes to get some work done in here. Its my last Sunday before the big birthday party, so I have a TON to do. I actually think i need to make a quick list b/c I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and just bouncing from task to task instead of completing anything.

Hope all is going well (I haven't really read to catch up.) Guessing I'll be MIA until after the party next weekend... unless I get a lunch break pop-in at work. So, take care everybody!! And, see ya' soon!!

PS - If y'all hit the magic number while I'm away, somebody please PM me w/ our new thread location!! Perhaps Threadkillers RE-unite?? :cutie:

Almost time for the big day. How is the planning coming?

Well we went from bumping to busy killers!!! So much to comment on and busy weekend myself. Not all good more drama w/neighborhood kids and DS, but this time it went a little to far.

I'm not going to multi quote so doing the best from memory:laughing:.

Pepper congrat's about your son!!! He has served you proud!
Lighttech<>>>> It's a boy, you'll have fun taking their GF's to lunch and shopping! Congrat's and love to the healthy baby. We will be waiting your arrival:banana:.

I think we all agree that if we get busy, don't worry about catching up! We would just rather have you back and joining in:goodvibes

Ha ha, I am totally playing catch up and messing the thread all up. Bet I will have to log in again. :lmao:

Hey everyone! I would say evening but it's really morning.

disney54us-awww, what happened with DS and the neighborhood kids? They did something worse this time? I'm imagining all kinds of things and it's making my blood boil and I don't even know what happened. We're here if you want to vent.

lighttech-the never-ending laundry problem. Oh, I hear you on that one. Never thought about being a nudist. I figure the world would never recover from the sight of me walking around naked. :rotfl: :rotfl2: So unless some heaven sent miracle happens and I wake up with a 21 year old's body, I'll be doing laundry every single day of my life. :laundy:

DD called a little bit ago. They went to Magic Kingdom and still very crowded. It sounds like she had to skip alot of things because the lines were so long (Peter Pan had a 70 minute wait). She never even made it to Adventureland today. She did get to ride the Haunted Mansion and said since they redid it, it is much better. She even jumped a few times. She saw Wishes for the first time and surprisingly wasn't very impressed. I think she is shocked by the crowds. She's spent alot of time looking for hidden mickey's and just checking out all the little touches in the parks. She is loving looking for hidden mickeys and asked me to get out our book on them tonight to give her some clues for tomorrow at Hollywood Studios. They are having a competition on finding them. We don't have to tell that mom gave her a heads up on a few of them, do we? Tomorrow morning, they get to do the animation class and I'm sure she's going to love that. From what I understand of the class, it's part history on Walt Disney and part on the actual animation drawing. Sounds cool to me.

Ok, just need another minute of your time to brag. If you all don't mind that is. I think Jackie (DD12) has finally realized how much time and effort I put into our vacation. She's gotten spoiled by what I do for our vacations and after seeing what happens when you really don't have a plan down there, I think she gets it. We've gone on the family vacation while it's been crowded but she never realized it before. She understands why I alway make us get up early for rope drop. So, while a not proud mom moment, it sure as heck what a "proud Disney fanantic" moment.

Night! See you all in the morning.

Brag away!!! I am glad she appreciates you and all you do. I bet your next trip is going to be even more magical!!!! I have really enjoyed reading about her adventures. I know you are glad to have her coming home now though.

Gosh, last I posted here was so long ago.

Our family has not done so well this past winter. I got bad news while I was at WDW in December and my stepfather passed away from cancer end of January. I think I have been in a real funk and have not visited the boards since forever until just the other day when my sister booked a trip to WDW this November.

So here I am again, trolling the boards for info for that trip and remembered the thread killers....I don't think I have time to go back and catch up so I'll
just jump right in here and say hi again to all!

Amazing to see this thread up to 224 pages....You all have been busy and hope you all have been well.

Have a great day all! Enjoy this beautiful spring weather! Finally! spring has sprung here in WV

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Welcome back to the TK. We missed you.

Hello everyone! Just a quick shout out to say "hi!" and good day! Now I have to go back and play catch up....Happy Monday everyone!

Ok...caught up now! So much to chat about!

First off, welcome back wvgoofy fan! I'm sorry to hear of your loss, though. I completely understand the need to take some time and just readjust. And yes, we're still here! So good to hear that spring has hit you too...the terrible winter has been a hot topic on here. But it seems that we may be out of it! Hope you continue to join us.

Magsnden...so good for you to check in. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs to you all.

Lighttech...congrats on the little guy! I too hope for my own little princess one day, but if I get happen to get a little prince, that would be so joyous! And two brothers are just so cute, watching out for each other and being best buddies.

Bopsmom! What a great opportunity! Isn't it weird the way life works sometimes? You will be a fantastic landscaper. Keep us posted on the job as it progresses. I'm fascinated, I'm trying desperately to be a good "mommy" to my herb planties, but I must admit I'm not very good at it!

dreamin...sounds like you raised an amazing DD. So glad she's having a good time. Tell her we're all jealous of her fantastic trip! It really will make for fantastic memories.

Pepper....congrats on the new plans for a trip! Thanks for the tip on the book, I have an older version of it that I"m using. I actually went to the bookstore on Friday and got two different books. Not really any info I didn't already know, but they have that new book smell and it just makes me more and more excited. Your ticker looks great!

Hi there disney54us!

You are very welcome. :goodvibes Very excited about the trip. Oh, I saw your other post, congratulations on third place!!!

I love the new book smell too!!! :rotfl: I like the old book smell too, but that is a conversation for another day. :rotfl:

Y
Love the ticker! Your trip will be fantastic.
I don't think we have a limit on how many brags we can have a day. ;) I don't have any kids so I'll let you use some of mine. We need to hear about the good kids so we don't get depressed about the future. All we hear on tv is the bad. The good kids also need to hear the bragging---positive reinforcement. Glad parents stressed school.

Thanks! I try not to be one of those "braggy Moms" but sometimes I just can't help it ha ha.

The good teens are out there, they just never make the news. Sad really.

Hi Everyone,

The weather has been sooooo nice here (70s and sunny)that I have spent every moment I can outside. My tulips are coming up and I've started planting other flowers and I got my tomatoes and seeds yesterday. It's so nice to see new life after 100+ inches of snow this year. I've been out on my patio and LOVE IT!!!! Looking at getting a patio set, but WOW are they expensive. Between $400-800 for a basic one. Ouch! I could buy indoor furniture for that price - and get more use of it.

Pepper - Congrats on the new ticker! So happy you'll be going to Disney in 4 mo. Can I travel in your suitcase?

My DS has his birthday this weekend. He decided on Star Wars but I didn't want to make an all black Darth Vader cake. The guest frown upon those dark stains on their teeth: So I'm going to try turing cupcakes in to a bunch of Ty Fighters. I'll keep you posted.

Ahhhhh spring. Just makes you wanna smile. :goodvibes Absolutely you can travel in my suitcase!!! :rotfl:

The birthday sounds cool. Ty fighter cupcakes what a neat Mom you are. Would love to see the finished product.

M&N-How'd you know? Am I that predictable? :

Welcome back!!!! I am very very sorry to hear about your bad news. We are hear for you if you need us.

If I missed anyone I am sooo sorry, I am interested in what every single one of you have going on...I'm just not good at the whole multi quote thing.

Dreamin- For some reason I deleted part of my quote to you...oops. Here is the jist of what I said:
