We (DH and I) are going to see Mickey and the Gang in January with my DD, DGS, SIL in January. Our purpose to celebrate DGS, 2nd birthday and 1st trip to Disney... Staying 4 night POR, with DDXDP.

Check-in - We are locals so after naptime we will be checking in around 3:00 ish
Dinner - T-REX - We are hoping that Planet Hollywood so switching might be a option here.

Day 1 - This is DGS actual birthday so Big Plans today.
Breakfast -8:30 - Chef Mickeys
Lunch - will be QS if needed
Dinner- 6:45 - Be our Guest

Day 2
Breakfast- 8:30 - Hollywood & Vine Disney Junior
Lunch - 12:35 - Sci Fi
Dinner- 7:10 - Teppan Edo

Day 3
Breakfast - 8:40 - Tusker House
Lunch - QS where ever
Dinner - 6:35- Corral Reef- DH and I will have DGS all to ourselves as DD and SIL are having date night.

Day 4/ Check Out

Breakfast -10:25 Crystal Palace
Lunch - QS
Dinner - Right now we have Morimotos but DD's not sure about it... So we are looking at Portobello, or somewhere else at DS...Or even somewhere in one of the parks - maybe Tutto or Chefs of France,

Since we are local we are going to stay all day on check out day.

I feel some ADR's are sorta close in the time frame, but we are doing character breakfast more for the character interaction than anything, and all the picture taking who will have time to eat.... We all don't really eat a lot in the mornings, so I will say we all most likely will be eating on the lighter side.

Thoughts and Suggestion... Please and Thank you

Day 1 - This is DGS actual birthday so Big Plans today.
Breakfast -8:30 - Chef MickeysGreat choice, esp. with a little one
Lunch - will be QS if neededSeems you will be at MK, any of the QS here are pretty good. Bear in mind, you have some big meals planned, so catching a snack is a great way to keep moving and not be stuffed
Dinner- 6:45 - Be our GuestI have only done lunch here, food was OK, theming is outstanding.

Day 2
Breakfast- 8:30 - Hollywood & Vine Disney JuniorN/O
Lunch - 12:35 - Sci FiI need to give it a try again, in all fairness, we went once, had just driven in 10 hrs, so we were tired. I wasn't overly impressed. 50s PTC is our go too at HS
Dinner- 7:10 - Teppan EdoN/O

Day 3
Breakfast - 8:40 - Tusker HouseN/O but friends love it
Lunch - QS where everFlame Tree BBQ is our fave QS on property
Dinner - 6:35- Corral Reef- DH and I will have DGS all to ourselves as DD and SIL are having date night.N/O but friends really like it

Day 4/ Check Out

Breakfast -10:25 Crystal PalaceAnother great one with a little one in tow
Lunch - QS

So we are looking at Portobello, or somewhere else at DS...Or even somewhere in one of the parks - maybe Tutto or Chefs of France,Morimotos is getting some rave reviews, but if you are at Epcot, can I suggest Rose N Crown, Biergarten or San Angel Inn. If Tutto or Chefs is a must, Chefs would be the better choice

T Rex actually scared my daughter a bit when she was 2, but she ended up fine (keep in mind A.) boys may be way more into the dinosaur thing and B.)She is a very cautious toddler).

Chef Mickey highly disappointed me with both food and service. Characters were good, but not close to worth it for us. We were much happier at Cape May. Be Our Guest I have only been to for lunch (no Beast and it is a quick service), but the food is really good.

Never done breakfast at Hollywood and Vine, but lunch has been surprisingly good and the characters are great (they have little dance parties with them as well as meeting).
Also never done Tepan Edo, but that could be a good one for a kid. Biergarten is also a really good ones my kid loves.

Tusker House we have never had a chance to do (though keep in mind basically the same characters as Chef Mickey), but I have heard nothing but great things about it.
Coral Reef has been ok food (nothing special), but the aquarium is really cool. Never taken our little one there, but she would probably love watching the fish (she's a big animal kid).

Crystal Palace we have done for breakfast multiple times (mainly to get to the park early). Good food and fun characters.

As for Morimotos, I loved the place, but we went for lunch. My daughter liked the food and liked the "jellyfish on the ceiling."

Possible other ones you may want to consider could be Ohana if he is a big Lilo and Stich fan or 1900 Park Fare at breakfast is really good too (though may get some character overlap from Crystal Palace). But overall sounds like you guys will have a great trip.

T. rex would be my only concern. My kids would've been freaked out at 2yo at that one. Have a great trip!

Notes are bold, please expand to see them all. Thanks!

Dinner - T-REX - We are hoping that Planet Hollywood so switching might be a option here. I agree with a PP that the PH of the past was not fabulous at all, but I am looking forward to the new PH menu developed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri. I also agree with other posters who mentioned how loud T-Rex is. Some kids are just fine with it but others may not be. As an adult who does cafeteria duty at a middle school, it was way to loud and chaotic for even my tastes.

This looks like a great day! I like how you've put some flexibility in with the optional QS.

Day 2
Breakfast- 8:30 - Hollywood & Vine Disney Junior
Lunch - 12:35 - Sci Fi
Dinner- 7:10 - Teppan Edo
Sci-Fi is great if you stick to burgers, fries, and shakes IMO. Even though the day is full of TS ADRs, you've done a great job picking things that will be interesting to the children.

Day 3
Breakfast - 8:40 - Tusker House
Lunch - QS where ever I like Flame Tree and Yak & Yeti CS.
Dinner - 6:35- Corral Reef- DH and I will have DGS all to ourselves as DD and SIL are having date night. Another good pick for entertainment during dinner

I have never been to any TS at DS, so I am no help with this. However, I know that Biergarten at Epcot is great. There is interactive entertainment during dinner and kids were encouraged to get up and dance when I have been there. The atmosphere is lively and a bit loud... and more kid-friendly that Tutto or Chefs.

A nod to Parks and Rec? I loved that show!!

Wow, I would love to do the DDXP some day! My only hesitation is the young age of your DGS. At 2, there is no way my 2 boys could've sat through that many TS meals and behaved well. But...you know your kid and what they can handle. I think you've done a great job choosing places that are of high interest to a child.

This begs the question....why are you not doing character lunches rather then dinners?

To me, it either makes sense to downgrade the DDP or eat at more opportune time and use your mornings for meet & greets in the parks when wait times are low.

The dining choices aren't really to me liking but my biggest "issue" would be spending more money on a dining plan on meals you won't really eat alot and how much time those meals would require.

I know it's probably not a big help and you would literally have to rethink everything (which I don't expect you to do), but those are my thoughts.

Hope it all goes well and you guys enjoy!

From my perspective....
I would not do deluxe with young children, never mind adults. It was just too much time, way too much food for us. We only do basic dining plan when we choose it.
I really feel like Deluxe is for true "foodies" and those that are there for long trips where time is not a concern.
I mean each sit down be prepared for 1-1.5 hours!
As an aside, My little niece was scared at T. rex, years ago...and that may be a consideration??

Whatever you decide I wish you a magical visit filled with wonderful memory making moments!

Op here,

We have taken him to Rainforest a couple of times, and he was fine, just sorta looked around, and did a lot of pointing, he is very busy and observant, but laid back kiddo... if that makes any sense. He loves Dino's so we will have to see, most likely one of us will hang out with him in the store or outside, until the meals arrive.

This trip is totally about him, so that was my focus.
I have to agree to some degree about the DDXDP, but we are not a stand in line to see the character kinda family. Maybe if one has no-one in line then we might jump in. The only time was when my adult DD wanted to meet Gaston... we waited only like 15 minutes, but it was so worth it... One of the best character interaction I have seen. Plus this way we can sit down in the air-conditioning, see the characters, and get something for everyone.

I might mess around with some of the times more, maybe moving some breakfast to earlier and dinners to later...or maybe lunch.... Oh my...here I go again... :D

We took our DS to Trex at 2 yo and he loved it. Wasn't frieghtened at all. It is different for all kids.

He might be fine at TRex in that case. I'd keep it and try it out! To be safe, i would probably ask NOT to be seated in the ice room. Thats where most of the noise comes from. :)

Your ADRs look great! Chef Mickeys is a fun way to kick off his actual bday. The character interaction is wonderful here! Plus who doesnt love the fab 5!??? :) Tusker, Sci Fi, Teppan Edo, Crystal Palace are all my fave places to eat. Great choices. I wouldnt change anything to be honest. I even like how you spaced out the breakfast and dinner times far apart. It all looks perfect if you ask me!
