Thoughts on which motel? Islander or America's Best Value

We are going in June for 6 nights, and we are either going to stay at the Anaheim Islander Inn and Suites or the America's Best Value Inn. The cost is pretty much the same, and they are right across the street from each other, both within walking distance. The Islander is rated #19 out of 114 on Trip Advisor and the ABVI is #42, but at the ABVI we can get a suite with a separate room for the kids at the same price as a regular room with a pull-out sofa at the Islander. Has anyone stayed at the ABVI and found it to be not horrible? We know they are both going to be simple motels and nothing fancy. We've stayed at the Islander before and been fine with it, but the room was pretty small.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I guess they are technically walkable but I wouldn't want to walk that far after a long day at the park. You might want to check them out on Google Earth.
I would also check out hotels on Harbor across the street from the parks entrance. Best Western Park Place Inn and Park View Inn (and many others) may be close in price to the ones you found and are MUCH closer.

That's a long walk! Almost 2 miles! Might think about using ART if you choose one of those two. Can't help with either though sorry!

We've stayed in that area and walked many times (and stayed at the Islander before and walked from there), so I'm not worried about that part. Thanks!

We have stayed at both and I would definitely choose the islander over ABVI. We had the suite at ABVI that you mentioned and were pretty disappointed with it and the motel overall.
We didnt have high expectations but our room was pretty worn down and the extra room was nothing more than a tiny room with a bed (no tv) and barely enough space to walk around it.

Thank you, that's good to know! I think the room at the Islander is probably our best bet.

Haven't stayed at either, but my experience is every best value inn we've stayed in has been terrible...

I wonder how the walk from Islander compares to let's say Boardwalk Villas in WDW to elther Epcot or Hollywood Studios?
