Thoughts on what should replace House of Blue's at DTD??

Just not Splitsville. I can't imagine anything more lame...and isn't that the current rumor right now? Ugh. I hope that rumor is WAY off.

I would love to see Morimotos, Boathouse, or something along those lines.

Lucille's and Yard House are already all over Orange County. We don't need another one at DtD, IMO. Something more unique is in order.

Some folks are saying it might become a new location for the Rainforest Café and ESPN Zone, to open up the current area to be used for the new 4th Hotel. This will allow the Monorail station to be part of the new Hotel and blends into Downtown Disney directly. But that is forward thinking.

But House of Blues was designed specifically to be a music venue, and nobody is interested in leasing a large auditorium, so Disney has decided to tear it down to be able to have a blank slate for the future. The permit was filed to just demolish the property. No request was made to build something new yet.

My choice would be Morimoto (or another one of his restaurants - the one in Honolulu is unreal good) but that's highly unlikely. I like the entertainment at Raglan Road but their food isn't up-to-par. I'd prefer Frostbites way over Joe's Italian Ice but that's just a small place and this is a very large space. In-n-Out would be an interesting idea. They're used to handling huge lines it's just that they don't move very fast since they make everything ala minute. They'd have enough space to make a huge kitchen to work on many orders at once and create an interesting queue.

Frostbites would be nice. Green Crush would be great, too. Out of staters could get a taste of the fresh fruit we have year round.

I've heard Splitsville from more than one person who swears they have "insider" knowledge...whatever that means. I think Splitsville is kind of a ridiculous idea. High end bowling alleys are trendy, but that's about where their utility ends.

I would love to see a Japanese restaurant. Something like Morimoto would be great. I wonder if there could be a way to get a Morimoto restaurant scaled down like Wolfgang Puck Bistro at Citywalk so that it's more accessible to the average person.

I seriously doubt Splitsville. You already have Bowlmor Lanes at Anaheim GardenWalk and Lucky Strike Lanes at The Outlets at Orange. So the market is already being addressed.

I also doubt any type of "nightclub". One of the problems that Disney had with House of Blues was late night events. (Remember that some Grand Californian and Disneyland Hotel rooms overlook the mall.)

And then you now have the parking issues and the focus away from trying to get locals to shop/dine at DtD, and looking at the visitors market as the primary focus, especially families.

Also note, the Hotels make a much larger profit margin than the actual shopping mall, some report it is only breaking even from the outside lessors. (World of Disney and some other Disney owned locations are doing well).

I'm hoping we get a Japanese restaurant in that location.
Or reopen the one in PPH.

I'd like to see it divided into retail spaces. Once you've seen a movie and eaten in DTD you quickly run out of things to do there.

There's already a bowling/food place in GardenWalk and it just changed hands recently. Putting another one in DTD seems like a really dumb idea.
There are Yard Houses all over the place, agree with something more unique.
The only Famous Dave's near us left about a year ago, not sure why... maybe they would have better luck with tourists than locals.

I was hoping for something Unique, not just another chain........ and def not a bowling alley! lol!
