thoughts on the Wish after MV

Is there nothing like Daisy's Delites?
Unfortunately no. The deck has the Cantina (tacos and bowls), Smokehouse, Grill (hamburger, hotdogs, chicken tenders), ice cream and pizza. The pizza is much better on this ship, no veggie pizza though which was strange. Other than ice cream, which closes at 10:30 and pizza, which closes at midnight, they close at 6:00.

Wow, how can they not have salad/fruit offerings in the Wish pool area...and no veggie pizza? We were on the Fantasy in June and most days I went to Fillmore's at lunch for fruit, salad, or a veggie panini. I was disappointed that they didn't open until around 11am (and weren't open late.). I remember getting a yogurt/granola thing at breakfast time at Daisy's on the Wonder/Magic...back in 2016/2018.

You felt it was worth it? Was it packed? I just don't want to pay a ton for it to be people soup.
We love the Rainforest, my husband especially spends HOURS in there in the heated chairs. So we always feel it is worth it.

It was PACKED the first couple of days, and LOUD because everyone was talking about the ship. ALSO, the "cast member only" exit doors in the outside section were not working properly from the outside (not locked, actually propped open one of the days) and people could just walk in from the promenade! Weird! We reported it to guest services and the next day maintenance guys were working on the doors all day. After that it got MUCH less crowded, LOL.

SOME of the breakfast stuff was self serve - toast/english muffins/bagels, oatmeal...
And a few random dishes at lunch were self serve. There were two dishes at the end of one of the stations in Marceline - grilled shrimp and chicken IIRC - that guests were able to put on their own plate. Not sure why these were different?

If you asked me on the first day of the cruise what I thought of the WISH, I would have told you I hated it. BUT after five days I decided that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Can't wait to go back at Christmas and we're hoping to schedule Spring Break on the Wish as well!

It is SO different from Disney's other four ships and it was REALLY hard to navigate for the first two days or so after cruising 23 times on the other ships that are all so similar to each other. We were frustrated! We kept running into dead ends and getting confused about which direction we were heading. There are only two sets of elevators on the Wish as opposed to three on the other ships. Once we came to terms with no midship elevators, we were fine and were able to find out way around no problem.

The Wish is BEAUTIFUL. The artwork all around the ship is varied and gorgeous and it would take days and days to just go around and photograph the artwork. Every time we walked somewhere I would see something new.

Our favorite parts of a Disney cruise are the spa (Rainforest Room), the shows, and the FOOD. Disney did not disappoint. The new Rainforest Room is soooooo nice, the new shows on the Wish were wonderful, and the food was just as good as ever! We enjoyed the new restaurants and menus a lot. There were definitely some hiccups but it was their first full cruise and they resolved most things by the end so I won't even mention them!

Here are my only downsides to the Wish:

1. The promenade on deck 4 does not go all the way around! We like to walk after dinner and you really just can't. The promenade goes up two sets of steep stairs to 5 and then 6 and then back down on the other side. And the other end doesn't connect together on 4 so you can't go in a circle.

2. There are a TON of bars/lounges on the ship but they all seem sort of small (same with the movie theaters - there are two now but they are much smaller). This particular cruise was mainly adults (seriously, we maybe saw a dozen kids total - I am sure it was more than that but not like a normal Disney cruise) and the lounges were SO CROWDED all the time. Hopefully this was just because of the population on board and won't be the norm.

3. The adult pool area kind of sucks. No shade, tiny sitting area near the pool. But with the addition of the outdoor Rainforest area, I don't see myself spending much time there anyway.

We took TONS of photos. If you would like to see a photo of something, please ask. I probably have it!

PS - being on a Maiden Voyage is pretty cool! We had swag in our room when we arrived and they left us goodies every night before bed too. Fun!

I agree 100% . Really was not sure I liked it all at first. The Wish MV was my 50th DCL (was on the MV of the Magic back in 1998) and I guess I am a creature of habit. I thought "this is not the DCL I know and love". but....after the 5 days I decided I did really like it. I would sail her again but probably not for awhile. I am looking forward to getting back on the other ships first.

I also took a ton of pics so ask away....the only areas I did not get to were the spa and fitness center.

A note on the fitness center. It has two separate rooms for classes. One had spin bikes and the other was open space for multiple uses. They now charge $20 for the spin class that was previously free on the other ships.

There were 2 recumbent bikes, 6 elliptical, 8 treadmills, plus 2 curved treadmills and 2 or 3 open striders. A good selection of weight machines and free weights.
