Thoughts on the New / Almost Complete DHS Entrance

This is sort of a random post, but just something that’s been on my mind. We all like to post about the problems created by infrastructure construction, but we rarely discuss the results of the years of dealing with construction walls and other annoyances that we’ve all encountered just getting to the parks at times.

Visited DHS this past weekend and the front entrance construction is nearly complete, except for the walls around the Skyliner station and a few small things left to do.

I was never really a fan of the old DHS entrance - the bus stops seemed cheap, the whole place felt like it was oriented oddly, rather unsightly security stations, etc.

But now - with nice wide walkways throughout, dedicated security structures, lots of security lanes, the multiple transportation methods in the front plaza area with people coming and going, the Skyliner breezing by overhead, the front entrance music playing throughout.... it all just has a really positive buzz/kinetic energy that I had never really felt before when entering DHS.

I know it’s ‘just the park entrance’ but I think they did a good job with DHS and I look forward to future entrance changes at the other parks as well.

Oh good to hear! Be there soon! Dd insists we do SWGE this weekend . Oh boy ....

And they were tight as well. If there was a bus already parked at one particular load zone and if you didn't turn the front wheels exactly right, you either clipped the corner or had to back up, which is a no, no, and try again. That corner took a beating over the years.

Fess up, how many times did you hit it? 8-)

Love the new bus stops! And the new restroom building... very convenient. The way it all blends together now and the new wide walkways... awesome!
Can't wait to see it all done when we are there in November. The skyliner will be up and running. :) :)

Looking forward to seeing the completed project. It was a mess in May, but you could see what the final project should look like and it seemed like a big improvement.
