Thoughts on the Grand Floridian Cafe?

My husband and I are thinking about having lunch here on our next trip and I was wondering what you guys think of the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We really want to hop over to the GF to check out the Christmas decorations, and we thought we would have lunch while we are there. Any comments?

Several memebers of my family had lunch there while my mother and I hadtea at the garden view lounge. They all enjoyed it very much. DH had the open face sandwich (earl of sandwiches?) and DS had the Chicken parmesan. My sis and her DF also ate there and enjoyed their food, but I don't remember what they had.

We eat lunch there at least once each trip. Menu is varied, food is good, service is fine and the restaurant is very pretty. The Earl of Sandwich is my daughter's favorite sandwich anywhere.

If the Earl of Sandwich is the ham with melted Boursin cheese over it, I agree that it is the best sandwich I have ever had! Of course, anything with Boursin cheese is great in my book. We had a great lunch there, and wonderful service.

jabrown40...that would be it...yummy isn't it? Ham, turkey, bacon on focaccia bread with Boursin cheese...I can taste it now.

We had lunch there on Monday and it was very good. We both had the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and a Melon Margarita! It was quite enjoyable. Our server was wonderful!

My only complaint was the hostess at the desk who took our name. She was a bit of a snot. She asked our last name(no one can ever spell it) and I began to spell it for her, she actually interupted me and said, "I think I can figure it out". Well, she was no where close (thus the whole purpose of my spelling it in the first place), so I corrected her politely and she acted quite put out over such a silly thing.

Definitely give it a try, it's a great place for lunch

We eat at the GF Cafe practically every trip, and we all like it very much! Food's good, the servers have always been really nice, and it's a lovely restaurant!
