Thoughts on the Fantasy - Merrytime

Just a few quick notes. Only have Cell service today in Cozumel (through Verizon). iMessage without photos is working and gets to family back home. Haven’t needed to contact my travel buddy so not sure about using it for that.

Gingerbread house is beautiful. Had a tree lighting ceremony. Santa comes today. Characters are everywhere. Lots of photo ops, even late into the night, and hugs allowed.

No straws or drink covers for cold drinks but the hot drinks have lids. I brought my own smoothie plastic straw (for “floats”) and just rinse it out. Ice cream is pour your own but there is a guy there who keeps things tidy. No judgement.

Embarkation was a bit of a mess. Port building was full. Then on a screen they would put up what group was boarding but people in later groups were clogging the entrance. No real path was cleared for those trying to get in when their group was called.

Food has been good.

Cabanas seems pretty normal. Shrimp and crab legs. Etc. some things you have to ask for - maybe 20%?

Transfer from MCO Hyatt went great. Yes, my bags made it. We were on the 2nd bus. Not all buses are decorated on the outside.
At the Port, separate fast lanes for Concierge and Platinum. We were on the ship around 11:30.

DCL app is not really intuitive but once you get the hang of it, it’s good. Tells you what’s going on and the menus.

Walking track is popular. Ship very clean. Some amazing cabin door decorations.

We were on that cruise 2 weeks ago and I agree with most of your comments. We never asked for paper menus and were automatically provided them. This was a change from our August cruise when we had a hard time getting them. Maybe server dependent? Now if I can get my crew all healthy! I’m the only one that hasn’t been sick. My youngest was nearly hospitalized today following flu that has now developed into something else and dehydration.

We have to remind our server. Best to not have your cell phone on the table, I think! It’s just easier to see the entire menu and not have to scroll.

I was in Switzerland in October. Got sick the day I arrived home. Pneumonia to start. Took over a month to feel better, and that’s with a lot of drugs (legal ones).

Ship was been rocking more than I remember a ship to rock & roll and there is sort of a vibration. Like a heartbeat? We are halfway between aft and midship elevators.

Movies are Thor Love & Thunder, Dr. Strange, Lightyear, Disenchanted, Strange World and Black Panther Wakanda.

Our email said 8:50. But when I confirmed our being on the Hyatt list, they told us 8:15. We were on the 3rd bus. When we checked in, he said we would be on a mini-bus. Ha! It was the MINNIE bus!

Hung around the DCL tables (there are chairs) and left around 9:40. Arrived before 11.

3400 guests. 1000 under 18’s. Was told the Christmas cruise was nearly full (4100) with 2000 under 18’s.

Fireworks were great. Clear skies. Magic was moored next to us in Grand Cayman.

My friend said Aladdin was great with little topical jokes. Frozen was done “straight”.

Lots of elaborate pirate costumes (some available in the gift shop). We did get the red scarves. And the sling bag. And the giant round luggage tag. Maybe I will use it as a Christmas ornament? A few incidental items available. I will take photos when the shops open back up.
