Anyone have any experience at Teppan Edo in EPCOT? Heard that its like a hibachi restaurant. Looking to go in June. How is the food and prices? Thanks!

It's a hibachi restaurant like a Benihana's. My kids (ages 6-15 at the time) really liked it. It's not super-cheap, depending on what you order. The portions are fairly large -- my DD9 and I split a meal. Everything is cooked in front of you. I think it is fun and a little different than a character meal in terms of having a little show. Unless you have 8 people, you will be seated with other families.

Teppan Edo has always been one of our favorites, but we don't have a hibachi restaurant near our home. It is one place my kids have asked for each trip since the first time we ate there.

Always a stop for us. Pretty good food. We have a couple hibachi's around us that are ok but this is better.

My daughter and I really enjoyed Teppan Edo (she was 10 at the time). We sat at the head of the table and we didn't feel crowded. I thought the food was delicious. The chefs all seemed to have a sense of humor and they engaged the children at their tables. It was fun!

It's not like a hibachi restaurant. It is a hibachi restaurant. Just like every single other hibachi restaurant in the US. Our chef at Teppan Edo even worked at one in my hometown before heading to work at Disney. (he told us when he learned where we were from)

I really enjoyed Teppan Edo. It was on the expensive side, but it was a great evening. I think one thing that you should consider is that you will be seating with other parties, unless you are a party of ten. So if you are not comfortable with that, be forewarned.

I like Teppan Edo. I've eaten there twice and while it is like an average habacci restaurant, there is Disney magic. I would definitely do it if you don't have habaccis near you.

Our boys 6 & 8 LOVE Teppan Edo. Its a must do every time we visit WDW. We prefer an earlier dinner ADR before it gets packed. Food has always been pretty good.

We've been there 5 years ago and LOVED it so much, I recommended it to my sister's family that we include it on our upcoming trip (we're traveling together). There are lots of similar type of restaurants back home, but Teppan Edo has that special Pixie Dust that makes it magical.

We love Teppan Edo and have never had a bad meal there yet. The food is great and the experience is actually more fun than our local hibachi restaurants.

It can be a bit pricey, and we've only ever used the dining plan there. I always get the Asakusa - steak & shrimp combo and that is around $35.

I'm so glad to read all of these great reviews. We're trying it for the first time in November. :)

We enjoy it very much. It is MUCH better than our local Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse.
Some complain that they don't get a salad and soup included. Some complain that they don't server fried rice. But fried rice is a Chinese dish, not Japanese. They serve a beef sukiyaki rice, but you can ask for plain white rice if you prefer.
We go most years.

I don't know if it is because our local hibachi is so great that I wasn't overly impressed? But, I feel like when it comes to hibachi you can't really go wrong since the food is cooked the same way anywhere you go. I should probably mention we were on the DDP when I went so I can't comment on "worth" but hibachi in general tends to run a little more expensive since you are paying for the "experience"

So, the food is decent, the entertainment, I feel I have better options when I'm at home. But, if that's not the case for you- it's definitely worth a shot!

Do they have any tables where you can sit away from the grill? DD LOVES Japanese food but won't sit by the grill.

The first time we ate there my older DS was fairly disappointed...he wanted to know where all the fire tricks were, lol...I explained to him it was a dsneyfied hibachi place and it was still fun and the food was actually pretty good! The next time we ate there it was at my older DS request. He loved the food there and he was ok with the show being not as good as the hibachi places near us. Teppen Edo is pretty much on our must do list in Epcot

This is a basic hibachi restaurant. It was fun and we enjoyed but it was nothing special. I found we had a better time at our local hibachi then we did in WDW
