What's the consensus on the new "Stitch's Great Escape"?

We thought it was REALLY bad...kinda boring actually. We picked up FP's for all of us (incl. ds (5) and dd (6.5) and I'm so glad we didn't stand in a long line for it. All 4 of us were pretty disappointed. I just thought it was a total waste.

Several days later when we went back to MK, I saw a huge line of people waiting to get in and I was so tempted to yell, "don't waste your time"...but I realize that wouldn't be fair, that everyone should decide for themselves.

But just curious...are there a lot of you out there who also found it not that great?

They didn't have it when I was there in 2/02. From what I understand, they did away with the Extra-terror-estrial to put this ride in its place. I loved the extra-terror-estrial ride. We will probably do Stitch just to check it out, unless many people respond to this post about how lame it is.

I have heard so many similar reports. Can you please tell me, do your children enjoy the Stitch movies or tv show?? My ds (5.5) is a HUGE fan...and he is SO excited for this ride. I keep telling him that it takes place when Stitch is naughty....and try to describe how he'll be in darkness at points and hear/smell/feel Stitch around him. I guess we're going to have to do it...and just hope he isn't scared...or disappointed. But I would be interested to know if your kids are into Stitch cartoons at all.

I really loved the attraction but then again I really love stitch. It was boring compared to some other attractions but it was fun. But as I said my opinion is biased.

My kids are 15 and 11 and not really into Stitch, but then again, they are not really into the whole Disney characters any more, but still love all the animation and the whole Disney experience. It is so much more enjoyable that trying to run from ride to ride as you do in most amusement parks.

Actually, my kids both really like Stitch movies. But given some of the other attractions we had visited, and given that this is a NEW attraction, I guess we were just expecting so much more. There were some episodes spent in complete darkness so I think any child who is afraid of the dark, might find this a bit unnerving.

We enjoyed the attraction and, after the lights went up, noticed that many children (8-12 y.o.) around us were laughing and enjoying it as well. Make sure to fasspass it as the attraction takes a long time to load, present the show, exit the first group, and bring in the next. We still had to wait about 15 minutes with the fast pass. For the record, I have yet to see "Lilo and Stitch", but I've got a good idea what it's about.

We had no wait to get on, and none of the 5 of us enjoyed it. My kids are 12, 9, and 5, and all like Lilo & Stitch. They weren't scared, but didn't enjoy it at all. There were a bunch of screaming kids, though just not mine :-)

We went on it twice last week, and personally I thought it wasn't bad at all. It's an ATTRACTION... not a ride.. Take it for what it is. The story development was in line with the characters and the special effects weren't bad at all.

My 9yo was scared to tears going in, we had to force him to do it, but halfway through he was laughing and begged us to do it again (which we did 2 days later). Our 12 yo also enjoyed it.

I don't know why everybody hates it so much. Maybe they waited in line. We never did. The 1st time we were at EMH in the evening (from 12am-3am) and walked right on. Second time we Fast Pass'd it and again walked right on.

We enjoyed it. Take it for what it is... an attraction! If you go into it expecting a thrill ride you're WAY off base.

Lame. Myself (38 HUGE disney fan), my dh (40 and a fan but not like me), my 7 yo DD and my 4 yo DD did this last month. Me and my 7 yo had ridden it when it was AE and LOVED IT! Mind you she was 5 at the time. Stitch was disappointing. The special effects weren't nearly as realistic as AE. We Fastpassed it and I'm glad. I wouldn't go on it again and my kids wouldn't either. No kids were crying though when we were riding it. It isn't really scary at all. Lots of giggling going on. Only ride I've ever been disappointed in with Disney. Not very well thought out at all. Almost as if they were trying to capitalize on the Lilo and Stitch movie but it was too late and not good enough. I don't see that the ride will last very long. A couple years at best.

Again, it is NOT a RIDE!!!

Anyone know what they're planning to change?? Hopefully it's the puke smell! Stitch does so many disgusting things....I would think they could come up w/ a better one than that! :rotfl:

They switched the alien with Stitch, they made the whole room smell like puke, instead of a scary alien breathing down your neck, you've got an annoying creature laughing and spitting at you.

I'd say that's about it.

:rotfl:
Well, technically, they made it smell like chili dogs... But I have to say, it was not a pleasant smell!!

I never saw AE, so I can't compare it. My opinion of Stitch is that it would not be worth the wait. DH and I used FP in December, and walked out of there saying, "Boy, I'm glad we didn't have to wait long for that one!"

I have no plans to go on it again unless DS (6yo) REALLY wants to in a couple of weeks. :sad2:

It isn't a vomit smell. It is a chili dog burp. But it is still a wretched stench.

We did the attraction twice in December. Once a CM came to a child to check on her--I could see the flashlight. But the family stayed for the whole show. I did not like AE and I had read some really awful things about the attraction. I found it to be above my expectations, but still not great. Although it is not on my "must-do" list, I would do it again if I was tired, it had no line and I wanted a cool place to rest. Guess this is Tommorowland's Tiki Room.

Again, it is NOT a RIDE!!!

I don't think there is such a need to differentiate between "ride" and "attraction" In fact, even with an attraction one is, in a sense, going on a ride. "Ride" doesn't have to mean moving. It can be used as a phrasal verb like, "riding out the storm" or "going along for the ride." Perhaps it can also be viewed as "taking our imagination for a ride"

Just a thought.

I was able to experience this ride during it's "soft" opening in October. I was disappointed. It was exactly like Alien Encounter except that instead of a huge and scary Alien, they have a huge (and to most little kids) scary Stitch. This a very loud, wet and dark attraction.

I wouldn't wait in line for this ride.

It is the oddest thing...but hearing how bad it is makes me want to go in and check it out for myself! We are going for enough days that we'll venture in once. Probably won't want to eat :sad2: anything afterwards from the sounds of it!
