Thoughts on renovated All Star Movies rooms?

So I saw some photos online and honestly I'm disappointed. They look really dark and closed in. No overhead lighting?? Big mistake IMO as the wall lights just don't illuminate nearly as well. Did anyone else staying there feel this way? We are going to be spending a fair amount of time in our room, and having seen photos, I'm a bit worried at how tiny/dark it may feel?

We just returned from 12 nights in a renovated room. I never felt like it was dark at all actually I think it was brighter than before.

It was DH and me and we really like the queen bed. Very comfortable. We never pulled down the other bed.

There are many USB ports and outlets which was a vast improvement.

I also like the glass doors on the shower. I never felt that the shower curtains were clean.

I wasn't a fan of the hardwood floors. We had dust bunnies roaming the room as housekeeping left a lot to be desired. I feel that rugs help keep down the sound as we could hear our neighbors.

I need to add that we were only in the room to sleep and spent most of our time in the parks.

Good to hear. We're a party of 6 sharing 2 rooms so we'll have all 4 beds in use. Though we can put it up during the day. We won't be there a tonne, but will be doing afternoon rests, on the party day we'll be hanging out at the resort.

How much can you store in the fridge?

There are shelves in the fridge that you can move around. It is larger than the ones they used to have. I'm pretty sure you can put a 1/2 gallon of milk in there and still have room.

When are you going as only 1/2 of the resort has been refurbished? Both standard cars rooms, both preferred toy story rooms and only 1 preferred fantasia room.

Not until September

Not sure which photos you saw, but I agree with the poster above, I thought it was actually a lot brighter than the old rooms. The wall lights put out a LOT of light. Also, the fridge will fit a gallon jug no problem with room to spare. It's a lot roomier than it looks.

We just stayed in a renovated Toy Story room a couple of weeks ago and didn't find it dark at all, and we were in a shady spot in general. There were multiple lighting options including the one in the murphy bed . Bathroom lighting was nice and bright and I agree that the glass shower door was nice. We didn't have a lot of issues with dust bunnies but I agree, mousekeeping wasn't all that. Many days they didn't come until later in the afternoon when we had already returned to the resort for a break/nap. We really enjoyed the refurbished room and would stay there again since the queen beds work much better for our family (all adults) than the previous doubles. Also, the TV for this size room was HUGE lol. The lighting from that alone provided plenty of brightness when it was on.

I agree, they are very comfortable and not dark at all. The bathrooms are a HUGE improvement and are very brightly lit!

We also just stayed for 7 nights in a renovated room a few weeks ago and we loved it! I had never stayed at ASMo before so I can't compare it to what it used to look like, but we didn't find it dark and all, there were plenty of light sources everywhere. The fridge is huge - we had 2 half gallons of milk in there, a carton of OJ, and a ton of fruit and we had no problem fitting everything! We really enjoyed our stay!

Awesome. Would we be allowed to bring a small toaster so that we can do breakfast in our room?
I'm not sure what's technically allowed, but we brought one along at AoA last year and had no issues (we also decline housekeeping though). We just made sure to unplug it after using it.

I personally didn't like the light on the wall. I found it to be way to bright and distracting.

We had a group of 3 in one room and I saw it was still rather cozy even with both beds down the whole time. I suppose it's a matter of how much of the room you plan to use/need. I say the one downside you might wanna look out for it a smaller closet space. Also the clothesline in the bathroom won't support much weight (if any at all). But then again we're not used to using those things.
