Let me know what you think of Ohana. I am considering dropping Spoodles (my BF doesn't really like meditteranean food) and booking Ohana instead. Please share your thoughts, good and bad.

I haven't been to Spoodles yet, but we have 'Ohanas. Lots of meat coming at you fast. If you have kids they will enjoy this place. There is entertainment, usually someone singing and strumming a guitar. Authentic songs.

The meat is cooked over a fire pit in front of you. Very tasty.

If you time it just right you can enjoy the electrical water pageant, or the fireworks at MK from the Poly.

We are going back this vacation as well, husbands orders.

But get a reservation, this place is popular!

Hope this helps.

I have been to 'OHana a few times and I enjoyed it.
DH, D Adult S and I had a window table on a past trip. Our view over the lagoon to Cinderella's Castle was wonderful. During dessert we were able to watch Wishes and we saw the Electrical Water Pageant too. It was great.
'OHana is relatively noisy. The main room is a large room with many tables. There are intermittant things for the children to do, and that makes it noisy. It didn't bother us at all.
The food is good, not great, in my opinion.
I would go back and I would recommend it.
Have a Great Trip.

Dh preferred the food at Spoodles over Ohana...I love them both.

Ohana is so good!!!! The bread pudding is just worth going!!! The pot stickers and wings are so good!! I love the salad too. The dressing is yummy! The whole meal is just so good!

Ohana's is pretty good. Last time we ate there I was pregnant and not digging meat very much, big mistake lol.
It is a lot of meat! And it has a smoky flavor. The kids liked the singing and the over all coolness of the place.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE OHANA!!!! This is my absolute favorite meal at WDW. There are so many options everyone is satisfied! And it is like going to a buffet without ever leaving your seat.

The salad is tasty and fresh with a vinegrette dressing and the bread is very good as well. The chicken wings are to die for with a yummy smoked honey bbq type sauce (if I knew the recipe I would be in heaven). Plus, they offer steak, shrimp, pot stickers, pasta, veggies and some yummy desserts! Best of all, if you like something you just ask them to bring out more. This is a must do on every vacation!

love it love it love it!! We love Ohana's it is a must for all of our visits. Never eaten at spoodles so can't help there, but i don't think o hanas will dissapoint.

I second these comments! O'Hana's is amazing! I have never been so full as when we waddled out from O'Hana's! The food is amazing (LOTS of Meat) the service was great and the entertainment is just plain fun! We were there right at 5pm when the restaurant opened and my girls were able to participate in all the fun! A must do at least once! We plan on going back on our next trip in 2 yrs!

I know many who love 'ohana but I am NOT one of them.

In our experience, the service has been lousy multiple times and the food is ok. But the service has been SO SO bad, we will not be back any time in the near future.

People tend to either love or hate this place. If it is somewhere you want to try, go for it! I hope you have a great experience :)

Here you go Princess Jo - you are officially in heaven! BTW I've made these and they turned out yummy. My b/f was impressed - I made a whole Ohana dinner - wings, salad, shrimp and beef - I didn't attempt the bread or the bread pudding but we ate at Ohana two weeks after my attempt and he said he couldn't tell a difference between what I made and what we ate at the restaurant.

Ohana Wings:

1 Tbsp kosher salt
1 Tbsp Paprika
1 Tbsp granulated sugar
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp granulated garlic
⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
2 pounds chicken wings and drummettes

Honey Coriander sauce:

1 Tbsp chili powder
½ tsp ground ginger
1 Tbsp lime juice
1 Tbsp ground coriander, toasted
½ cup low sodium soy sauce
1 cup honey
2 Tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup water

1. Combine salt, paprika, sugar, black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, granulated garlic, and cayenne pepper in a mixing bowl.(whisk to break up clumps of dry powder). This is the wing seasoning.

2. Take the wing seasoning and combine with wings and drummettes. Toss thoroughly to coat wings evenly.

3. Line cookie tray with parchment paper. Place chicken on tray evenly spaced out. Let marinate for one hour in fridge.

4. Preheat oven to 475 degrees F. Cook wings for 35–40 min or until outside is crispy and internal temp is at least 165 degree F.

5. While wings are cooking, begin sauce with lime juice, soy sauce, and honey. Combine these ingredients in a non-reactive pot.

6. In a separate bowl combine chili powder, ground ginger, and toasted coriander.

7. Lightly sprinkle dry ingredients into wet and whisk constantly to avoid clumping.

8. Heat on stove top to a boil and let simmer for 1 min.

9. Combine water and cornstarch. As sauce is simmering add cornstarch and water solution. Continue to simmer until sauce is thick.

10. Keep hot until wings are ready. When wings are done, be sure to drain well and discard the fat that renders off. If not, The sauce will be runny and not coat well.

11. Combine the wings and sauce in a clean mixing bowl and toss thoroughly to ensure even coating.

12. Serve hot and Enjoy!
Also you may garnish with sesame seeds. Use a mixture of black and white sesame seeds.

Had dinner here three times and every time it was WONDERFUL! Lots and lots of meat!

I've eaten at Spoodles too. Steak, Shrimp, Pizza....there's all kinds of good food for the pickiest eaters....this was in '06 but man, it was really good back then!

We went for the first time this last Christmas and we loved the place. Mind you we were prepared for the meal based on everything I had read here. We expected the restaurant to be loud, I requested a window seat (didn't get it but close enough) and asked for only small portions of meat. We decided to skip the turkey but the CM insisted I try a little bit. And of course it was dry and terrible. Our server came around with the turkey first, pork, steak and shrimp. We skipped the pork and had great steak and shrimp. We liked the pineapple bread, the chicken wings were sticky and yummy, and both the kids enjoyed the noodles. (they switched from potatoes to noodles. The noodles are a little plain but DD loved them so much we had to get another plate. They have sauces to dip your meat in but we only really like one of them. We walked out full and have it planned for our summer trip. DH asked me why this was only our first time and insisted we add to the list for all of our trips. It is worth a try at least once!

As far as Spoodles, used to be one of my favorites, last 2 times I have been disappointed. Will not return.

Love the sides at Ohana's, to much dry meat for my taste. Breakfast is good though.

Here I've given the dinners 2 tries, and I won't be returning. I'm not a big meat eater and find this restaurant a little pricey for just sides.

I know everyone loves this restaurant. It's always packed.

Can you get seconds on the pot stickers and the wings? In case our kids don't love the meats so much.:goodvibes

I really like Ohana, it's become an every trip must do. It is very loud and there's a lot of activities going on. If you are looking for a quiet meal this isn't it.

LOL - Whispering Canyon is one of our favorites - so we are ok with a loud atmosphere! Ohana sounds like it's right up our alley based on the responses here! We are both meat lovers and like this kind of boisterous surrounding. Did someone mention that they have live music? That would be great as well!
