Thoughts on Narcoosee's?

Just a bit nicer than park attire. You could change into a skirt or dress, but it isn't a requirement. Men could easily arrive in slacks or dress/khaki shorts and a polo shirt. Ties, jackets, etc. are fine but not needed. Neat and fresh are probably bigger than what you are wearing.

When we went we cleaned up in our room before heading over:
- Mom dolled up in a skirt ensemble, sandals
- Grown daughter wore slacks, shell/casual top, sandals
- 6yo boy in sneakers, khaki shorts, short sleeved button down (he wanted to dress up!)

We felt comfortable and in place dressed that way. By the way best meal or the trip, by far and our other meals were good.

We ate there on the last night of our holiday, in August 2008. It was absolutely wonderful. We are from the UK and our daughter had phoned home for her 'A' level results that morning and found she had a place to read medicine at Oxford University!!!:yay: I rang the restaurant in the afternoon and they gave her a special menu and brought her a special dessert! They put us at a table with a magnificent view of Wishes and the food was fantastic - all in all the perfect end to a wonderful first trip to Disney World.

Great Restaurant, Great Views, Great food and Great Service. I would recommend it.
California Grill is my Favorite though at WDW.

I loved Narcoosee's! We went there for our anniversary-just mentioned that when we made our ADR's and they gave us a personalized menu and did cool things with the desserts we ordered. I have a review in my trip report-link in my sig. As for dress: Dh had a button down and khaki shorts. I had khaki capris and a nice shirt.

Tramp&theLady gave a pretty good description. Service has been an issue at Narcoosee's a couple of times that we've dined there. The surf and turf was quite ordinary and the lobster would win no awards. It's also a noisy restaurant due to the wood floor.
It's fine for kids (the fireworks see to that) and there is NO NEED to dress up unless you want to. T-shirts and shorts are fine--the only items not allowed are swimwear, swimwear cover-ups, tank tops on men, torn clothes, or t-shirts with "offensive" wording.

all the great reviews make me extremely happy...i little nervous about his before, but I think I will give it a try!

Steak is pretty good. Maine lobster is horrifically overpriced if you're paying out of pocket -- especially these days when there is a surplus of lobsters and grocery stores here in the Northeast are practically giving lobsters away. Worse yet, our last few times, the lobsters have been small and very tough.

The restaurant is very loud. For most of our visits, we've had good service. It's fun to walk out and see the fireworks. They did personalized menus for Dad's 80th birthday dinner, which we held there a few months ago.

Due to the poor quality of the lobsters, we're skipping Narcoosee's these days.

Hi ~ bumping for personalized menu info. Thanks! :grouphug:

Personalized menus are now at the discretion of each restaurant. There is no way you can know if you will get one. You need to mention when making your ADR that you are celebrating something and hope the restaurant acknowledges it. We are celebrating our 20th anniversary next week and eating at signature restaurants each night and we do have it noted on our ADRs at each locations. We did choose Narcoossees as the restaurant for our actual anniversary as it is our favorite. We hope we get a personalized menu celebrating the actual day, but if we don't it's no big deal. Once upon a time you could arrange this in advance, but it got out of hand, so now it's the whim of each location what they want to do.

Narcoosses is our favorite place, but we are trying many new ones next week, so we'll see if it remains our favorite. The surf and turf is just so so, but everything else is outstanding esp. the appetizers and cheesecake. We've had the same server 4 out of 5 visits over the past 2 years and hope we get her again!

Also wanted to note that while tee shirts are accepted I've never seen anyone that casual here. I usually feel underdressed with dress capris and a nice blouse and sandals. Hubby always in dress shorts and a button up shirt. But most folks are dressed up here. Definitely cruise casual.

Thank you for explaning all of this ~ now I understand. :worship:

Congrats on # 20 ~ we celebrated ours on 6/17. :bride::groom:

We love to dress up for dinner so DD & I already have our dresses chosen for that dinner & DS & DH will probably wear polos & khaki's

I have never had any problems with Narcoossee's being a loud restaurant. I actually found it to be very quiet during the three trips there we have made to date. You'll also fine excellent service and food! It is our absolute favorite restaurant! :)

I agree. Granted we went once, but it wasn't loud, the service was really good, and I actually really liked the lobster. It is pretty expensive since I've had lobster for $20 in Maine-and that included app, salad, and everything, but it has to do with where you're having said lobster. It's great if you have the DP!
