Thoughts on Latest Trip

Just a quick one on our latest visit...Overall we had a fantastic time!

Highs

Weather - superb! In the 90s for the first three days. Only had 10 minutes of rain (and yes, we were stuck outside in it!)

Food - excellent meals everywhere we went. Highlights were The Cheesecake Factory, Tony Romas, Outback etc. Also fast food at Panda Express!

Universal/IOA - outstanding as always. Harry Potter was good, although not as good as I had expected. Rip Ride n Rocket was the favourite.

Queues - since everyone was visiting Harry, we had the park to ourselves for 2-3 hours after opening. Everything else was walk on in IOA.

New Spiderman - outstanding since the upgrade.

Good flights both ways (though very turbulent on the way back)

Lynx buses - fantastic; although we did have one day where the timetables were meaningless but we got where we wanted to go.

Out of Heathrow and on the coach within 40 minutes when we came home.

Lows

Queues for Harry Potter were bonkers and the whole area was rammed.

Shopping - no bargains for us. Found things were were looking for were cheaper back home.

Sounds like a great trip overall. We were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the food at Panda Express on our trip in 2010. It has become a firm favourite of ours.

i agree about harry potter - the place was insane.
the main ride is great from what i understand (i can't ride it because of motion sickness), but the rest of it was a bit of a let down.

I still can't understand what the big deal is about that wand shop.

We only waited a few minutes in line for it (we went there first with rope drop), but had i waited any longer than that i would have been very very annoyed.

i agree about harry potter - the place was insane.

The main ride didn't make me sick at all, which I thought was weird as Spiderman makes me a little iffy and The Simpsons makes me decidedly green!
We didn't do the wand shop. No interest in that.

Sadly, no...
I think we're done with Orlando for a few years at least now
