thoughts on early March

Well, my one time DL trip has been over for about 3 weeks and I've already decided I am going back. The problem is...when should I go?? I was originally thinking November/early December after Thanksgiving. But I am going to WDW late September/early October, and I should probably space the trips out better.

So then I started to think early March. I don't think most spring breaks will be going in the very beginning of March, plus March 2 is my 30th bday, and I think it'd be awesome to spend it in DL :wizard:

I've spent the morning reading through some of hydroguy's threads so I have a good idea about the temperature (sounds like it could go either way) and the fact that the hours will be shorter and some things may be getting rehabbed.

So basically right now I'm looking for personal opinions.

The first week of March should be right before Spring Break. I hear the crowds are nice then, and the hours short. We went the second week of March this year (first week of Spring Break season) and it was very crowded (more so than the week before Christmas was for us). Some long-term refurbs (the Matterhorn comes to mind) were still happening even during Spring Break. The weather wasn't too bad, a little on the cool side, but we didn't have any rain. I wish we could have gone the week before!

We were there March 1-4 this year, it was great! Crowds were not bad, especially in the morning. We were there on a weekend - I imagine it would be even less crowded during the week. Weather was gorgeous - just right during the day and threw on a sweatshirt at night. At that time of year they will only have fireworks on the weekends (though they were canceled both nights we were there due to high winds above) and there will more than likely be some big rides under refurb. There were 3 or 4 refurbs when we were there, but apparently it wasn't a big deal because I can only remember two - GRR and Matterhorn. I would definitely go again the first week of March!
