We always eat at either Pecos Bills or Liberty Tree when we are at the MK, but I wanna try something new! We're taking a trip next month and the budget is tight, so we need to keep it to counter service.

Love it? Hate it! Help a DIS'er out!

LOVE IT! We really enjoy CHH... They have great sandwhiches and the clam chowder soup is awesome (if you like clam chowder).

We didn't know it was even there until our Keys to the Kingdom tour. I had the best sandwich of my trip there. It was a vegetarian sandwich. We ate upstairs and the CM said that guests rarely knew there was an upstairs so there is always a place to sit. He also said that the bathrooms upstairs are usually the least crowded in the park.

:flower:

my dh and I LOVE IT! In fact, when I told my dh about the new MWY dining option - he said only if we can eat at CH! We always get one order of the combo ch/fish platter and one order of the chowder and share it all - it's way too much food! so much in fact, one year we took a funny picture of each of us with a bloated look on our face with the remainder of the food all around us - dorky I know but boy do we love that place!

I guess we are in the minority- we hated it. Cold, greasy, heavy food. Yuck!

We like CHH - the food isn't fried, and is healthier and less "heavy" than the rest of the outlets

I think the food is on par with all of the other counter service offerings in MK. The atmosphere of this place is what makes it stand out! Eat on the second floor if you can!

We love the Clam chowder. Just something different. They did do away with the bread bowls though about a year ago. Have mac and cheese for kids. We always hit here for lunch at least one day in the park.

I love it! We've eaten twice. First time I had the chowder in bread bowl, and ate the entire bread bowl! The second time I had the tuna salad sandwich and it was scrumptious! The seating is the best I've seen in a counter service place; it's divided up into small rooms, and the upstairs is usually not crowded.

DW and I love CHH!!! Our standard lunch when at the MK is a Chicken Fingers and Fries Combo with a Diet Coke. Lunch for 2 for under $10 - can't beat it!

Like you, addicted, we were stuck in the Pecos Bill rut....we tried Columbia and loved it. All of us found something we loved.....and we also found it a bit healthier than other places. And yeah.....eat upstairs...less crowded...better view of MK!

I like the vegetarian chili and eating upstairs to get out of the crowds and heat.

Thanks so much everyone! I'm crossing out Pecos and penciling in CHH. I'll let everyone know what we think when we get back. :)

I read a recent post that said that they had a wonderful chicken salad sandwich at CHH but according to the menus I have seen they offer a TUNA salad sandwich or a chicken salad (real) salad but not the sandwich. I even reread the review to make sure I was reading it correctly. I know it's a silly question but does anyone know if they have the chicken salad sandwich? I'm wondering if the poster of the review meant tuna instead of chicken.

Try cosmic rays. They serve the best marinated chicken sandwich in WDW. Features the same toppings bar as Peco Bills. :wizard:

CHH is our favorite counter service restaurant. DH and I love it and even the kids are happy there. I love the clam chowder (although I miss the bread bowls) and the tuna sandwiches. Upstairs is usually nice and relaxing with a nice view of Haunted Mansion.

CHH is really good. We ate there for the first time in August, 2004 and will return. It is especially nice to sit upstairs and get away from the crowds for a while.

We really like CHH. Have eaten there 2 or 3 times now and we've been really happy with it. The atmosphere is neat, and even if you eat downstairs you're still escaping the rest of the "World". And we ate there once during Easter week, so that is a fact. It's becoming better known, but because it's sort of hidden, it doesn't get the crowds that Pecos Bills, or Cosmic Rays does. Cosmic Ray has decent food, but we like CHH much better.

Our favorite counter service by far, we normally have chowder and fish or chicken but I tried the tuna sandwich last time and couldn't stop raving about it - I know it's only a tuna sandwich but it was such a nice change from the fast food we had been eating and it was delicious. It's always quite cool and you can get a table easily, so you can have quite a good break from the park without having to go full service.

Hmm..... maybe I should delete this and tell you all how awful it is, I don't want it to become the most popular restaurant in the park!
