Thoughts on Animal Kingdom

Oh, nice tip. Did not know we could get food from Tiffin's at Nomad, we had just planned to have drinks there. Do you typically have to wait at Nomad or do you go right in?

You can usually go right in; there's seating on the inside and outside, and it's a lovely spot to cool off. A word about the Tiffin's menu; depending on the day and/or server, it may just be the "small plates" portion of Tiffin's menu, or the whole menu. When we went it was just the appetizers, and side dishes that were available from Tiffin's, but Nomad also always has its own small plates menu available all the time, same quality as Tiffin's offerings.

That will be fine for us. I looked at the Nomad menu and thought it might be a bit limited, though not enough to deter us from giving it a try at brillig.;)
Er, I mean, lunchtime.

We loved AK on our 1st two trips. This last trip in November, I don’t know what happened, but we all agreed it was just kind of blah. I always said the park always felt so “alive”, but the last trip it just felt kind of dead and unexciting.

Of course it has some of our favorite attractions...FOP, Lion King, EE, and Safari, so those made it worth going.

If/ when we go back, I’m interested to see how the park is, and if we just hit it during an off period last time.

My family loves AK probably more than any other park and disagree with some of your comments, however thats what great about Disney, there is something out there for everyone. I DO agree with your statement that the park feeling a bit unbalanced. While we do enjoy Dinosaur, I feel like there needs to be another headliner on that side of the park to draw more crowds away from Pandora, obviously even with TSL opening FOP is still the most popular ride on property. There is no "weenie" for Dinoland and that Hester and Chester's carnival section with Primeval Whirl is indeed "Horrible" and chiropractor inducing. I would love to see Dinoland get some more love and maybe an expansion to Kali River rapids. Planet watch was never my favorite, but I know Disney is throwing around ideas for its future... apart from those 3 gripes, AK is quite nearly a perfect park in my opinion.

AK is by far the best Disney park. No comparison.

Lion King is the best show in any of the parks. Everest is the best coaster. And Safari is the best ride.

Enough said!

I love Ak but I completely agree about Dinosaur! To think we got stuck with that stinker as a promo for a failed movie!

Another vote here for family favorite park!! We have loved AK since the beginning and Pandora really just added to it!! I did enjoy Indiana Jones better at DL but I still enjoy dinosaur. I do love primeval whirl, Safari, EE, Kali( do this in the afternoon late before we head back to the resort) and all the shows!!!! There is a lot of walking and I agree dinoland needs more of a headliner to draw more that way. I know AK doesn’t always get a lot of love on these boards but it is usually our only 2 day park ( May have to change that next trip as we will only have 5 day passes and SGE will be open and we have not seen TSL)

We can walk for hours in AK without even going in any rides.

The ambiance is so care-free.

The food is awesome.

The safari ride? Better than South Africa imho! plus you can ride it 10 times and get 10 different experiences.

Yep, another vote for fav park here.

While not our favorite park the girls manage to keep busy for 2 days each trip at Animal Kingdom. I think AK has some of the best if not the best restaurant selection in the 4 parks. The only area my girls might agree with you is Dinosaur. They have put that ride on their banned list.

AK is my favorite park. So much to do and see . Heck just sit and watch the gorillas for 30 min. Just gotta take it slowly and enjoy

I think that's the key. It's a park you have to work your way through at a leisurely pace and really just take in the atmosphere and enjoy all that it offers.

It's not a park for people who want to just plow through like a team of commandos rushing through the rides and leave. Those types of people will not enjoy it the way we do.
