My family will be in Florida in January for my husbands business. We thought we would spend 4 or 5 days at WDW but don't want to spend a fortune, especially just after Christmas. We are considering the ASMo, have never stayed there before. Last 3 trips stayed at the Caribbean Beach resort (loved), Polynesian(loved) and Port Orleans French Quarter(ok). We spend almost no time at the resort basically sleeping and dressing, and our kids prefer the parks to the pool so we usually spend a couple hours one afternoon at the pool. I would appreciate any thoughts on this resort.

They're cute and clean. A little small but like you said you are at the parks most of the time. I don't think you'll be disappointed, it's got a lot of Disney magic. We love it!

DH and I stayed at ASMo for 1 night before transferring to CBR for 9 nights. We arrived early and decided to check it out, with $49AP rate we figured we couldn't go wrong. DH loved it, he is just a kid at heart and thinks the theming is great there. He played with the popcorn light fixture for 20 minutes LOL. I liked it OK, much prefer POFQ, rooms are pretty small. One sink in the vanity area. I would definetly stay there again if it was there or offsite, you don't spend that much time in your room anyway if your'e only there for a 4-5 day trip, you'll be in the parks most of the time. The only thing I REALLY didn't like about it was the bus stop. I'm use to benches and a covered area. There is no covered area with seating, you just pick up the bus in front of the main bldg where the food court, registration, and shopping is. As long as you don't have a long wait for a bus it's ok, though, but I have RA and need to sit when I can. Also, there are tons of kids there. I love kids, had a couple of my own and have 2 grandchildren, but I like peace when I get back to my room, too. But it is Disney, and was not a bad experience for us. I really liked the food court there, one of the best of the resorts I've visited.

If its just you and your husband I would stay at All Stars Music.
I have stayed at all 3 all stars and it seams to me that Sports has a lot of teens, Movies has a lot of under 9 year olds and Music seems to be middle age people and less little kids and teens. Also it is in the middle of the bus run. JMO..... I have stayed here perhaps a dozen times ask for the Jazz building.

For a bed and cute atmosphere, the movies is great. The only problem with the movies is that it is last in the bus line, so your last to be dropped off and may stand when being picked up. We stayed at the sports and movies, and I preferred the movies decor by far, but I loved being first to sit on the bus and get off at the sports. The only real negative I saw with the all stars was the poor service/long wait in the food court. For a basic place to eat with free transportation, they are great.

I am sure that I am in the minority, and I haven't been the All Star Sports in eight years, but I will never stay there again. If I can't stay at a moderate (at the very least), I won't go. I felt that sense of Disney Magic stop as soon as we walked through the entrance. The room was too small for our family of four. My family goes for the atmosphere of the resorts, and not so much the parks. We enjoy all of Disney, but the feeling I got from the CM's was, "You folks are lucky to even be on Disney property, and this is all you're getting for what you're paying." It just didn't feel the way a Disney resort should feel, and we haven't been back since. For what you will pay at a value resort, you can stay off-site and have much better amenities. If you are not staying in your room that much, being off-site shouldn't matter that much.

Love the All-stars. Not as much as CBR, not enough to pay 110/night this october, but love them as a good value. Movies is fun, but we (dd,6 and me) loved Music. Correct comments about the busses, we tend to drive to parks, except MK, from there. I do prefer the moderates bus stops. Service was every bit as good as other resorts. When we got to Music this december, at 1am, after delays and snowstorms, the CM got up, told us to wait a minute, waddled to the back (she was easily 9 1/2 months pregnant!) and came back with a couple of Bug's Life beanies for my dd for surviving the trip! Neve had anything like that happen at a moderate or deluxe.

We like the AS resorts just NOT the Sports. We stayed in Sports a couple of years ago. It was great overall we had our 1 year old DD w/ us so we liked the food court. Liked sending DH down for food and ate in our room. I didn't think the room was to overly small but we did have a king bed corner room. We enjoyed walking through all of the AS resorts and looking at all the icons. If you can get passed the bus situation it is okay we found that 50% of the time we went to the other AS to pick up but the other 50% of the time the bus was to full and they called to have another bus sent. We are actually staying at ASMovies this Oct. We had booked AKL but can't wait for those darn AP codes to come out and will NOT pay almost $300 a night for a room.
Overall AS are a great resort if you don't need all the extras the deluxes have. ie... sit down rest., room service (you can have pizza delivered). It is a nice fun resort. I just have to add if your kids are little ones I strongly do NOT suggest Sports it tends to have the more noisier ruder older children. During our trip our 1 yro DD was hit in the head w/ a football and the teenager who did it didn't see anything wrong w/ it! Also there was usually some drunk men at the pool side bar fighting about the sports game they were watching!

At theSports there were benches and a covering to wait for the buses. I am sure there were at the Music and Movies, too.

We have only stayed in the All Star Resorts. It might make a difference to you because you've stayed in "better". However, we are quite content to stay at the All Stars. There is bus service. We've gone in Feb and Sept and NEVER had a problem with the buses. We didn't have to wait long at all. There were times when Movies got their own buses and didn't have to share with the other AS's. The room is clean, a little cheesy :) but my daughter would be upset if we stayed someplace besides the Dalmatian building. I really think that when you look at all of the resorts the All Stars are most appealing to the children.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, and we are doing so in January.

ASMo is wonderful! We just returned from a 9 night stay and had wonderful service, great busses, and had a wonderful time. Usually we don't spend a lot of time at the resort but this trip we really relaxed our park touring so we spent more time just hanging out. I have to say that in all the trips to the All Stars this time we had the best CMs and maid service.

The pools seemed bigger than the other All Stars and there was a lot more seating available. My only complaint was that there isn't enough shade. My son even got to close the pool one evening.

Having stayed at all the All Stars I love the theming at Movies. They took all that was good at the other two resorts and stepped it up a notch.

We rarely had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus. After park closing there was a seperate area for ASMo while many times Sports and Music shared a bus.

Three years' ago, on our very first trip to Disney World, our family (DH, DS, DD and myself) stayed at All Star Movies. We thought it was great! We spent most of our time at the parks rather than at the resort, but we did enjoy our time at the resort. My two kids were in the arcade just off the main lobby every chance they had. They loved playing the games. We were there during Thanksgiving week and the bus service was excellent. The only time we had more than a few minutes' wait for a bus was when we were trying to leave MGM after Fantasmic. I've often seen the All Stars compared to a Motel 6, but I think they are much nicer than a Motel 6. I've never seen a poolside bar, an arcade, a laundry, gift store or a food court at a Motel Six. The rooms aren't huge, but I thought they were fine for the four of us and we had a lot of luggage. I'm sure the moderate and deluxe resorts have many more ameneties than the All Stars, but I don't think you will be disappointed. The kids will love it!
