I had checked the boards daily and posted many questions about our trip, so I wanted to post a few comments after it is all over:
1. We breezed through security after I read all of your suggestions about packing and going through with kids. We put our baggies with liquids and our baggies with medicine (including liquids) in the bins, and everything went through without any issues. We had a good security agent who did not require the kids or me to go through the puffer. Our girls got the biggest kick out of taking off their shoes.
2. We made the decision to check the car seats, and, of course, they did not make it to MCO. Delta handled it well, and I got to go behind the desk to pick out our loaners. Our seats had not left Cincinnati, but they sent them down the next day, and a delivery service brought them to us.
3. I foolishly waited to get a few things together until the very end, and it made check-in at the airport very harried. A word of advice--have everything ready to check except the car seats. If you are using a new car seat travel bag, try it out and stretch it before you get to the airport.
4. I went back and forth about renting from the airport or using a shuttle, and I decided to try Enterprise and save $$. Our other res had been with Alamo, and the line was horrendous, just as I had read about on these boards. Taking the shuttle was a breeze; we never had to wait for one. On the return trip, we returned the car and all took the shuttle back to the airport. We had time to get everything situated, and it was nice just to pull everything off the van and check it.
5. We wore our LMGHs, but we didn't see any others.
Thank you so much to everyone on these boards. If I had not read all of these wonderful tips, our trip would not have gone so smoothly. Thanks again!
