I just found out that one of my very best friends has HIV...he is the first and only person I know to ever contract it and he doesn't even know that I know. Please just keep him in your thoughts for me.

Stay strong for your friend. It's not to make light of a serious diagnosis, but the treatment approaches available today are far more effective than in years past.

Don't forget to take time out for yourself as you support your friend.

I have a close friend who is poz.

Make sure he finds a good specialist, gets on the right meds, and takes his meds regularly. Things are much better these days than they were in years past!

So sorry to hear this about your friend. I shall pray for your friend. At the risk of sounding snarky though, with something this personal and devastating for your friend, it's your friend's personal information to tell and decide who gets to know. Whomever told you this should not have. I guess I'm just a little pissed on behalf of your friend. Sorry if that bums you out. It not about you, but about the person blabbing personal/private things about your friend...you're a fine, caring friend.

The person who told me is one of our very very closest friends. We've all known each other for years and years, and I have since heard it straight from the affected friend. I understand your concern, but the relationship that the three of us have is close enough that the affected friend would not have minded that I heard from someone else.

So glad to hear that. Hope you all have each other to lean on thru this scary time for your friend. I wish for your friend to only leave this world when he is good and ready and super, super old...lol. For you. give this one to your friend for me.
