I had Covid in March.
I will be happy to get vaccinated when someone can prove to me that your vaccine antibodies are better than my naturally acquired antibodies.
I will be one of those scary unvaccinated people waking around without a mask when the mandate is dropped.
We followed all the protocols, masked as asked. I got Covid in February and isolated, my wife got it a few days later. We also have a 3 year old daughter, and after my wife tested positive for Covid, we got her tested for knowledge more than anything else, as she had absolutely no symptoms. She tested positive as well.
I was pretty sick for about 4 days with Covid, then it let up, but the congestion persisted. 3 days later, I felt pretty sick again, but had my taste and smell back. I was able to get a Virtual Dr.'s Appt as soon as that happened, they prescribed an antibiotic and cough medicine. I was literally completely better in two days. My wife had the same story. We would have never known my daughter had Covid.
I am military and a month later, they called me to get the Moderna vaccine. The reaction to the first shot was more severe for a 24 hour period than actual Covid. I had the exact same reaction from the second vaccine shot. My wife got the Pfizer Vaccine and had no reaction. I am happy we are fully vaccinated both naturally and boosted I suppose through the vaccine.
At some point when the vaccines are available to all who want them, we really must let people exercise their own personal freedom and choice and not stigmatize people for being wary of a vaccine that has not received full FDA Approval. I am happy that I am vaccinated. I feel completely comfortable not wearing a mask. I also do not begrudge anyone who has a differing viewpoint.
We go to Disney over Memorial Day, and I cannot wait to be able to have a nice adult beverage in hand, not worrying about stopping, distancing and pulling my mask down to take a drink. That is the one part of this whole deal that completely ruined the experience for me, the joy of just walking and eating and drinking in a theme park. It was so alien not to be able to do that. And the fireworks, please bring those back ASAP!
