Thoughts about Cirque de Soleil La Nouba

It is worth every single penny. And honestly, there is not a bad seat in the place.

We went about 4 years ago, and I think we are going again in August. Our two kids are a little older than when we saw it the first time, I thought it was be neat for them to see again as teens. I think it's definitely worth seeing, at least once.

I will be the dissenter. My husband and I did not like it. Kids, 7 and 5 did. It was not bad, but in my opinion no where near the caliber of the other cirque shows and nothing that we hadn't seen at our local circus for much less. It seemed very variety show and worn out to me. Now if tickets were half the price I would say it was an ok show, but definitely not for the current ticket prices.

I am careful about how I spend my money. I don't buy park hoppers, ever. I only bought the water park fun and more add on one time. I don't pay for the dining plan, and last summer, I carried sandwiches into the parks for lunch many times over.

La Nouba is well worth the money spent. I have seen it twice now. The first time I went front center, and the show was amazing. The second time we were still center, but a bit farther back. This August, we will see La Nouba for our third time. When I heard that the show was ending, I just had to do it one more time.

I have found the show to be absolute captivating. When my son was 5, he couldn't sit still through anything. We had completely given up on movies because he was constantly needing to go to the bathroom, or wanting to get a snack, just twitching, doing anything but watching the movie. La Nouba, his eyes were glued to the stage for nearly the entirety of the show. One time, about 15 minutes from the end of the show, he asked me if it was almost over, then went right back to watching intently until the show was finished.

There isn't enough good I can say about the show. I certainly wouldn't pass up the opportunity to see it!

We went on our honeymoon. My DH had never seen it but I had seen the DVD a handful of times. We bought cirque gift cards at Costco to save some money. It is well worth it.

I have been three times, all on complimentary tickets through work. That being said, I thought the show was OK. We had front and center seats the first time, which was way too close to the action, and made it difficult to see acts above and behind us. The second time we had category two seats, upper center section, and those were the best seats for viewing the show in it's entirety. The third time we had category three seats, lower far right side, and again, the seats were too close and the angle meant we couldn't quite see all the stage.

My favorite Cirque show of all time (so far) was Alegria. La Nouba has some good acts, but there were some I was kind of bored through as well, and some of the music wasn't to my taste. I do think it's worth seeing once, so you can form your own opinion.

We went on our trip a few weeks ago.

It was a great show.

Our seats were Section 203, Row CC, 19-16.

I think this was the perfect location as we were not too far from the stage and high enough that we didn't need to crane our necks up for the aerial stuff.

You might want to call the box office directly for tickets. When we did the operator was able to hunt down discounts that saved quite a bit.

Best Show they have- Ive got my tickets for December 14-2 weeks before the show ends. Cant wait to see it again.

OK. I've got a different opinion here. I thought it was weird. But, I'm not a fan of any of the Cirque shows. My sister paid for us to go, but I wouldn't want to see it again - especially for the price...

Another PP mentioned Alegria, which I also loved. My husband had never been to a Cirque du Soleil show, and we had a DVC discount offer for La Nouba and went. We sat in category 1 seats, which required a lot of neck bending backwards; but he loved it (as did I). We said if we ever had an opportunity to see it or another Cirque du Soleil show again that we would pick seats higher in the theatre.

we loved it. i have seen other shows and i would say la nouba seems more in keeping where they came from... street performers. although there is the trampoline stuff and other interesting acts it is not as busy and prop-driven like curios was.

we thought the pricing was amazing. in canada when i took my son for his bday i think i paid $200+ each for tickets?? i seem to recall booking la nouba and saying "for the price, we cannot miss this".

We really enjoyed it. Since they do other shows throughout the country, it was definitely a one and done for me though. My sister could go every trip and never tire of it though!

In all the years we've trekked to WDW, we've never experienced La Nouba - partly because there are so many other things to do at Disney, partly because of the expense for a family of four "adults," and partly because the show isn't really unique to Disney. (We can see Cirque de Soleil in other places - even though we haven't!) Now that La Nouba is approaching the end of its run, I'm giving it more thought. We have one last chance to see it, if tickets are available, in November.

So for those who have gone... can you share your thoughts? Worth the cost? Entertaining for teens/young adults? And which seating/what category of seating do you recommend? We should get a DVC discount, so that would help a bit.

Thank you for sharing your experiences!
Saw it once, glad I did. Was never interested to see it again though.

So glad I saw this thread. I had tried to order on the DVC website a couple weeks ago but for some reason could only get dates 30 days out, and I thought that was b/c I was ordering with the DVC discount. Guess that was a glitch of some sort. Just went on right now and got them ordered. Thank you!

Not sure I'm entirely happy with my seat location, but couldn't figure out how to get it to change seats. So I'll deal with what I ended up with!

Tell me more about Costco gift cards for Cirque. I don't think I've ever seen them at our Costcos in Minnesota.

Being from Canada and being able to see many of the Cirque shows, its something we enjoy. That being said, I feel the best seats for this show is first 2 rows above the walkway. When you see the seating pattern you will see a walkway that runs between the top and bottom sections. For most show these seats give you great angles, and see a number of the acts up close that go along the walkway.
Since the show in Disney is small, all seats have good views, so even the "very back" still are close.
If you havent seen a show before anywhere, then go. The price is very reasonable compared to the Vegas shows or some of the touring shows.
I am hoping that they are bringing a new show to Disney Springs and just retiring this one to the tours.
Enjoy

I'm pretty certain if you check online you can order from their website. I've never seen them in our store (and I'm there often since my dh works there). I'm fairly certain they were online.

Don't listen to the people pushing the high seats. Sit up close and enjoy the show. I've been twice and both times I've sat in the golden circle. Those seats are at the optimal height and distance so you can see the performers very well and even the aerial acts are well within your view. This isn't like sitting in the front row at a movie theater where you'll have to scoot down and lay back to see what's going on. Some things are high up, yes, but you won't be craning your neck or uncomfortable at all. I've even sat in the very front row for one of the travelling shows and it was an amazing experience. I don't have the best eyesight so I do prefer to be closer, but being near to the stage also lets you really take in the fine details of costumes and feel closer to the acts that are going on.

La Nouba is fantastic and I'd recommend it to anyone going to WDW. With it closing in a few months, time is running out to experience it.
