I gave my friend the Z code to use for her Nov. trip. She called on 3/14 and was told there was no pin associated w/ her name and couldn't use the code. She called back on the 15th to try again w/ a different CM. She said she no longer had the postcard and had just written down this code and he said "if I book it, and you show up w/out proof, you will be charged full rack rate" She said will you book it? And he said yes, but your taking a big risk. So she decided to stay w/ the AAA discount.

This is crazy. One, being a pkg, the deal will be paid off 45 days in advance of the trip. If Disney has given a reservation, at a certain price, and the consumer has paid that price, the deal is done. This isn't like AAA or AP where it clearly states you must show proof of your membership at the time of check-in. I felt really badly she couldn't use the code where so many other people were lucky enough to use it w/out the pin. If the CM wouldn't book it w/out a pin....that's fine. (though the rule should be applied more uniformly) but to scare her by saying he'd book it, but she could end up paying full price at check-in...I just think that was wrong.

I know there's another thread on here about people who booked w/out a pin and I think some were planning to travel this mth. It will be interesting to hear from them. Good luck everyone!

There was a period of about 2 weeks where the rule was applied very not-uniformly.

After that.. they really clamped down on booking without the PIN. This has happened before ... and I'm sure it will happen again.
