Now that they are closing toontown and part of fantasyland - (esp the toddler play areas) how will that effect your park plans etc.

DD is a HUGE dumbo fan and it is all she can talk about she keeps asking when we are going so she can ride dumbo (we aren't going until May). Also I will be going with DD#2 who is turning one on the trip and DD#1 who will be turing 3 a month after the trip. Those are the areas that we planned to spend a large portion of our time. DD#1 isn't great at waiting in lines so we planned to spend a good deal of time letting her run around the toddler play areas and things like mickey and minnie's house b/c she is high spirited.

How will this effect your touring plans? DH is now saying maybe we should just wait on the trip until they build everything and go then instead.

I wouldn't be too concerned We are taking our first trip Sept 2010 and our kids will be DS(7), DD(5) & DD(11mo) and thanks to this Disboard & sites like allearsnet.com who will certainly give us the heads up about any other major closings, refurbs, etc. I am prepared to tweek my plans accordingly to accomadate the adjustments. Also, let's keep in mind that it is WDW and entertaining children primarily is their specialty so there is still bound to be plenty for our tiny travelers to get into. Let's just hope we get some extra pixie dust blown our way pixiedust: and we are spared the major part of the refurbs on our visits!

I first got wind of it from the "Rumor & News" thread right here on the Disboard. There was a thread by someone (can't recall the posters name) but he has been considered reliable according to fellow disers he had a link to an actual map of proposed the "Princess lands" w/in fantasy land. It has apparently been confirmed at the D23 convention that is still going on now in California. It appears that Toontown will be ripped out to make room for the expansion and Dumbo will triple in size according the to post. It is scheduled to be completed sometime in 2012 and finalized by 2013. We are planning to visit next year so I am hoping construction won't start until the end of next year maybe. This will be interesting...:scared:

I saw the post you are talking about. It looks amazing, but I really love Mickey and Minnies house! Is there any word on when construction will start and how it will impact things in Fantasyland?

I am worried how much tickets and such will raise!

We are going in Jan. My DS 4 LOVES Mickey. There are other places to see Mickey and the Gang so I am not too worried about him missing something. He has never been there before so he won't know what he was missing. You can always go over to Playhouse Disney at DHS too. That is what we plan on doing. I think they have a new pooh's playground area ,if I am not mistaken, so maybe that is a good place to play instead of the playgound in toontown.
