We want to go next year; the first week or so of March. How were crowds and wait times?

I went march 2-6.

Crowds were busy but not crazy. Weather was beautiful. Shorts and tshirts the whole time.

The day I left it started raining and folks I knew who were in FL that week got chilly and rainy weather.

It's a crapshoot really.

I didn't go this past year, but it is usually a great time to go weather wise. March is my very favorite month (high probability you will have fantastic weather). I'd probably do touring plans in case you have spring break crowds to have good strategies to minimize wait times.

We went the first weekend in March last year and we were freezing, despite the fact that the predicted forecast was in the 60's/70's (and we're from Colorado so we know cold). We had to buy sweatshirts, jackets, beanies, the works! That being said, the parks were practically empty after 4pm everyday so we went on everything we wanted multiple times.

We were there March 1-9 this year. There was a cold spell in the middle where we had two days were it dipped into the 40's at night and 50's during the day, but otherwise it was mid 70s to 80 and we swam every other day. Crowds were fine until Saturday the 8th when the spring breakers started showing up and the parks were significantly more crowded the last two days.

We were there March 1-8 this year. The weather was nice, we only had one day of rain and one day of very cold wind. We were there during Mardi Gras though, so I think the crowds were slightly higher but still manageable. If you go during Mardi Gras, just prepare yourself to see a lot of purple LSU shirts! If I see another in my lifetime, it will be too soon LOL!

March 1-8 for us and we loved it! Busy but manageable. Be prepared for some cold spells too!

We were there March 5-10. Rain and cold then warm and sunny! Kind of have to pack for anything!

We were there last year and this year. We had a really cold day both years, and everyone in the park were shopping for jackets. This year's cold day was March 7, and we were shivering in Magic Kingdom. The rest of the week was warmer, and just needed a hoodie for early morning and late night.

Crowd is medium this year. A very enjoyable trip with beautiful flowers at Epcot. We loved the trip and would definitely do it again in early March.

The fact that Mardi Gras is Feb 17th next year and Easter is April 5th should provide enough of a buffer between very crowded times that the first week in March should be less crowded than it was this year (Mardi Gras was March 4th this year).

Definitely pack for anything, though. We did not plan for cold weather when we went March 11-18th last year, and we should have. If we ever go in March again, layering will be imperative!

We (DH, Dsister, and I) went to MK at night March 3rd, I believe the park was open until 1:00am, and we stayed until the park closed. We had fast passes made for 8-11, in between our fast passes we were able to get on rides that were less popular. We spent 8pm-10:30pm in Fantasyland/Tomorrow Land jumping to Space Mountain, Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, Small World, Speedway, Monsters Inc, People Mover, and Buzz. Between 10:30 and closing we spent riding big thunder (multiple times), POTC, HM, and watched part of the electrical parade. Other time was spent shopping and eating. All in all, it was perfect. Lines were maybe at 10-15 minutes depending on the ride. The temperature was also perfect. Jeans and a t-shirt seemed to be the norm for my traveling group.

Thank you for all the posts, very helpful info. I forgot to ask, was Stay Play and Dine the promo or that time frame(early March)?

It was offered for the time I was there. I think it may have ended like the day I left (6th) or the day before (5th) which was the first day of Flower and Garden Festival. Room rates also went up right around the time I left as well, as the spring breakers started the that weekend.

We were there Feb 27-March 3rd and were rather taken aback at the heavy crowds--I thought they were Nov. Veteran Day weekend level/spring break. DHS and Epcot were OK but MK and AK were miserably crowded.

We were there then too, and I absolutely agree.
