How do you convince your spouse to go again? Or is it a mutual thing?

We just came back and let me tell you I want to plan another trip right away. I think it's the only thing that will keep me going. You all are the only people who understand this....My DH just gives me "the look" :scared1: but there is nowhere else I am happier. :)

I can't speak for everyone else...but I just went without him. :)

Seriously, my DH can take or leave Disney. But he knows I can't. So even in Seattle, he was fine with me coming down three, four (o.k. sometimes five) times in a year. Sometimes I took my older son with me, sometimes I went alone with a girlfriend. And one time I just plain went alone.

Now that we live here, I went seven times last year and he didn't go with me a single time. I took five trips with kids and two without. This year if we stay in Florida, I plan to take at least seven trips, but I really hope more. He may join me on them, he may not. Its not really his thing so if he doesn't, that's fine. I enjoy going and so do my kids. I will continue to go whether he wants to or not.

I am lucky enough to have found a HUGE Disney fan in my boyfriend. He booked another Cruise while we were onboard! I came out of the gift shop and wow! was I surprised! :rotfl:
If he weren't such a huge Disney fan, I still imagine we'd go, just not as often. And I would probably have to go somewhere of his choosing.
Example: I am a huge girlie girl, but I've gone camping with him because he likes it.
A variation of this question is how to tell family/friends you're going "again"!
No one understands a Mouselover quite like another Mouselover!

Believe it or not, my husband actually told me on our last trip in September that we should plan all our vacations to Disney. I am very lucky.

I do try to incorporate things besides the themeparks into our trips. Our next trip in March will include a couple of spring training baseball games and other sporting events.

There is so much to do at Disney, I don't know why anybody wouldn't love it.

Now that may be a huge seller right there. There really is so much to do. This last time was strictly Disney but I'm sure I will find other things to entice (sp?) him to go.
Thanks

I am lucky too as my DH would be content to be down there 360 days a year.

We have a countdown calendar going constantly. As soon as we return we start another one going.

We make three trips a year for a total of four weeks.

If it wasn't for our families, we probably would have already moved closer!!

Proud to say my DH is now as hopelessly addicted to Disney as I am :cool1: It was a process, but we just kept going. A little longer each time, and he found that he looked forward to going as much as I did.

One clincher for me is that I LIVE to organize and plan our trip; it makes me happy everyday. Once DH figured this out, he encouraged me to always have a trip on the burner.

Hope you have a DH convert soon!!! ::yes::

We went entire family last April then I booked a weekend for DH 40th bday and DD wanted combo bday/christmas trip to Super Soap w/e.I got to go 3 times but we really didnt get to do enough on long weekends. If airfare was cheaper and we had unlimited vacation days I would go all the time! It is my happy place :cool1: :rotfl2: :earsboy:

This March Im going for a wk with a friend and her daughter. That wknd they have a cheering competition so I'll have a solo wknd.
In Aug DS & I are returning to WDW for 2wks. First wk mother/son, 2nd wk DH will be joining us.
I get to book next Feb 07 before we leave for our March vacation.

My DH is not a Disney fan. He calls going to WDW just "giving money to the mouse" but I go at least 4 -6 times a year. He had awful commando trips when he was younger. He is good for one trip. If I organize it right he actually enjoys it. No ocmmando, throw in something special and different like a fireworks cruise or massage. This sumer we will hit theCape and Universal to keep it interesting for him. Otherwise I take my DD and it is us girls. Sometimes other family members or friends go with or will be there at the same time to hook up here and there. I am lucky in my DH does not give me a hard time. Just becau8se it is not his thing he understands that itis mine.

Between '94, and '99 I took my dd at leat 4 times a year, 3 of those by myself. DH just doesnt love it how I do, but he never complained on that one trip a year

My DH and I are lucky in the fact that we live 3 hours away so we get to DW about 6 or more times a year, I think he goes for the food, I swear he knows where all best snack food stands are in every park! All kidding aside, my DH's reasons for loving Disney so much is that it is unlike the "real world", everyone is happy and excited, the CMs are super nice and cater to your every whim, the entire place is immaculate and well maintained. I love to plan our trips and let him think that he is "helping" me pick a resort or "helping" me make ADRs......we have such a good time there and our family thinks that we are nuts, 2 30 year old people without kids enjoying a family park....but we have vacationed at other places and keep going back to Disney!!

IWe are 37 year olds without kids and love it there. It just takes a little convincing to get my DH there from PA every year, much less more than once per year.

Dh is going again because I promised him the dining plan. We were talking about going again (ok I was talking about it) and I about fell over when he said lets go back!!!!!!!!!! So after this trip who knows but atleast I squeezed a 2nd trip out of him.
