We will be driving from Massachusetts in 14 days... My question is this, we have what is known as the Fast Pass for the turnpike. I know that we can use NY Easy Pass, can we use our Fast Pass on the NJ tolls? Or any other tolls that take that type of pass? Thanks. Michele

in NJ it's EZPass and it works in NY, DE, MD and VA for sure.

You can use E-Z Pass all the way through to MD, not sure further south of that.

We used it for our last trip in April and we loved it. I dont remember if we used it in Virginia, but it worked at all the tolls we needed it for. After having it now for a while, I couldnt imagine traveling without it.

Kerry...I will be able to use my fast pass to get through the tolls, do you know how far? Or where? I have not driven in well over 11 years and can't remember what states have the tolls, I am thinking NY, NJ, where else? Thanks

We used it all the way through Washington DC. After that there are no tolls that I can remember unless you use the Florida TPK and I am not sure about that because we always just took I-95 to I-4 to 192. You can use it on both NJ TPK and Garden State Pkwy, as well as any bridge in NY, Delaware Memorial Bridge, JFK Memorial Hwy (northbound only), Ft Mchenry Tunnel in Baltimore and the Woodrow Wilson bridge in DC (I think this was Northbound only as well also). I think that may be it. I cant remember exactly what we spent but I may be able to look it up for you if you are interested in the exact amounts.

:cheer2: Yup-we went last December and we used ours all the way to the last tolls on I95-Maryland I believe.

Have fun!

Heather

My son just moved to Tampa and drove, about two weeks ago. We put his plate number on our Fast Lane acct and he used it all the way down. If I remember correctly, there are more tolls going north than going south though. And it wasn't so much a matter of monetary savings but a savings in time. He said it was wonderful to just shoot through those toll booths while others sat in those horrendous lines!! He just sent it back to us and it's back in my car.

This would be interesting to find out if you can use the Mass Fast Pass all the way down even though the website says different. We have Family all the way down into the keys and I was/am considering getting a NY E Z Pass. A couple of my friends who live here in Mass with me have it and one of them has used it all the way down to Venice, FL without any problems

I am thinking about this too....I wonder how long it takes to get your transponder...

It does save on time, I would think, has anyone ever added up what they spend in tolls travelling to Florida?

THe Mass. turnpike fastpass (Fast Lane) works on all EZ-Pass facilities. This gets you all the way down through Virginia or Delaware on I=95, which is the last toll before Disney or Venice FL.

You can have more than one EZ-Pass or compatible transponders from any states that have EZ-Pass toll roads, switching them from the foil bag to your windshield as needed to get toll discounts. Usually only the in- state's account will give you toll discounts in that state.

I would not carry a toll transponder while flying and then renting a car. It is one additional object that could get lost, stolen, or conficscated.

Once you're past Baltimore, the only toll you might have would be the Governor Nice Bridge, and that's if you take US 301 to avoid the DC beltway.

Other than that, the tolls listed above for VA are pretty much off the beaten path for anyone driving to WDW.

Fast lane works thruout the east coast except for Florida.

The last toll southbound is the McHenry tunnel. Northbound, there are additional tolls in Maryland and Either of the NY bridges, but you don't have one on the Deleware Memorial bridge.

OOS transponders get a discount on some roads, NJ turnpike is one of them.
