Those using swagbucks ???

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever been able to fully fund their Disney trip through gift cards? I started using Swagbucks last fall and cashed out for a $100 Amazon card which we used to purchase a Prime Pantry box to be sent to AKL when we stayed there. I'm reading this thread sort of conjunction with the thread on using your Target card for 5%. I also Shopkick, which is a great way to earn Target gift cards. Has anyone ever been able to fully, or even halfway(!), fund their whole trip through a combination of Swagbucks, Shopkicks, Target 5% off, and giftcards? I'd love to take another trip to Disney and have it paid for through gift cards! :)
I'm just in the beginning of this (joined swagbucks in June) but my goal is to pay for excursions and a photo cd for my Disney cruise next year. I shopkick for my kids' souvenir money. I could fund the whole trip if I saved for four years but my kids are growing up too fast for that:) I'm estimating my net cost on a 7 day cruise (fare is $4,000) including gas, hotel, parking at the port, tips, excursions, photo cd, dog boarding, trip insurance, etc. will be about $3,400 by booking onboard, using Costco as a TA, buying discounted gift cards, using DVA, and doing swagbucks.

That's awesome! It's just DH and I, so I'm thinking realistically it wouldn't take us THAT long to save up. Especially if I start using Swagbucks the way many people say on here. Now that we're married and real life is setting in (can somebody tell me how to apply for a mortgage?! LOL), I definitely need all the help I can get getting us back to Disney!

I pretty much did with the bill for my package. It gift cards through Raise and Target(about 65%) and then the rest from Swagbucks. I would not have been able to pay the vacation without all this stuff, that's for sure.

Darn close! But not by using SB alone. I think that it would take multiple accounts and a lot of time to achieve that goal with SB alone.

We have combined CC rewards and rewards programs like MyPoints, eBates, SB and Perk to get our November vacation paid for entirely.

I just started using MyPoints as well! Haven't really invested too much time in it yet though. Best case scenario, DH and I wouldn't make it back to Disney until late 2017. I would love to go earlier than that, but our ten year (dating) anniversary is spring 2017, and we'd like to do a big trip like Europe or something. I'm thinking that if I combined Swagbucks, Shopkicks, and Target, I could probably get enough saved in that amount of time! This is definitely motivating me to up my Swagbucks efforts.

That would be nice but keep in mind that these rewards programs tend to change over time. SB used to be much better for earning but recently changed the number of points that each app maxes out at. Perk nerfed their apps so that they don't get as many points per ad view and there are fewer available ads. MyPoints often changes the number of points needed to redeem for a reward without warning, which renders your accumulated points less valuable. I wouldn't count on any of them remaining the same as they are right now. The best that you can do is earn what you can, while you can, and redeem as soon as you've earned a reward so that you don't end up with nothing to show for your efforts if any of the programs go under.

Just so you know, if you are buying discounted Target cards and using the RedCard discount online to buy Disney gift cards, you can go through MyPoints to order them and you will earn 1 point per dollar. Since your total with the RedCard discount would be $95, you will earn 95 points for every $100 Disney gift card that you buy.

Oh, I definitely agree that I don't count on them remaining the same! I've already been on Swagbucks long enough to notice how it will switch things up. I will definitely plan on redeeming for Target gift cards as soon as I have enough points. I've got about 4000 now that I've worked back up to since cashing in my 10,000 back before April. I haven't been as diligent about SB since then though.

Awesome tip, thank you! Man, I'm so glad I started reading this board. I had really only been checking out the Resorts, Restaurants, and Theme Parks board since I joined here, but this is quickly becoming my favorite board!

So I did really well yesterday. Everyone keeps asking for restaurants they want to go next year. I want to get the gift cards for them. So yay for swagbucks

5 running PPQ (1 pt, per round if run passively, more if you answer questions and are correct). 5 running Perk TV Live! (switching 4 to Perk Screen videos when the ads run out). Those net 2 pts. per video. 5 running Perk TV (1 pt. per video). I also have Perk Screen installed on my regular cell phone so that I accrue points for unlocking my screen and I will run the videos on it in the evening.

At first, I was skeptical about Perk but I've been doing it since December and I've magically earned over $1500 in GC with not much effort on my part without doing a single referral or having family members sign up in order make multiple accounts.

Oh, and if you're running PPQ, make sure that it is set in lightning mode. It runs faster that way. On Perk TV (not Perk TV Live!), set the videos to low bandwidth so that they don't slow down your internet.

Thank you so much for your tips! I didn't realize I could run the PPQ on lightning mode. Gonna try that! Love all your posts!

I haven't tried Perk yet. My DH might actually die if I try to add one more thing. LOL He can't understand why I'm always on the laptop half-watching TV with him in the evenings.

Curious. What other sites do you use?
I do MyPoints, Zoombucks, and several survey sites. If Irazoo has a bonus code I add it, but I don't actively do the activities there. Also, BzzAgent rewards you with MyPoints for activities (plus you get to review cool stuff).

I paid for a whole trip to WDW using a combination of SB, Perk, MyPoints, SW miles, Inbox Dollars, Ebates, Bing and a little bit of Ebay (only did about $300 on Ebay). With the SB $ I get the discounted Target cards. It can be done but it is a lot of work (babysitting devices, keeping track of offers, purchases etc.).

I am now working towards our 6 night DLR trip in Oct, almost there! Flight was booked using SW miles (had to pay for taxes, used PP rewards from SB), tickets bought through Orbitz (buy 3 days get 4th free) using Ebates and paid for with SB Paypal rewards. For meals I have $400 in Disney cards (Perk), $30 in Ihop (Bing), $50 Red Robin and $50 Outback (both MyPoints). So now I am working on Starbucks cards (will do around $50 using Bing, Kelloggs rewards and Perk), another $200 in Disney cards (SB, Perk) and I still need $59 (out of $759) for the hotel (Ebay). Oh, and I still need $93 for the rental car!

That is seriously so impressive! We're the type that get off the plane, on DME, and don't ever leave Disney. So I think I could reasonably just cash everything in for Target gift cards and get the Disney cards and it wouldn't be THAT hard. I haven't tried Perk or Bing yet. I have swagbucks set as my default search to get points, so I'm wondering if it's a better deal to switch to Bing? Does Bing pay out rewards more consistently for searching than SB? Seriously though, kudos to you. That is really awesome!

Use Bing until you max out the number of seaches that you can do in one day. Then switch to SB. Bing rewards for each and every search you do and they are very quick to send their rewards.

That's great, thank you for the help! I just went and looked at their rewards and they're great, so I'm signing up!

Nope, no expiration on Target or Disney gift cards:sunny:...Our trip isn't until October 2016 (well, not counting the one this year....but I have all my GC's for that trip already acquired:flower:)
Thank You! Happy to hear that. Thought i was going to have to carefully time my use of the cards.

Re: searching through swagbucks...
Do they continue to award you if you keep searching after the first time you earn SB for searching, or is it a once a day thing?

You can get SBs more than once per day for searching. But it is random so you could search all day long and get nothing or you can get it twice in a row.
