Those that booked the 2026 member cruise and used the Chase Disney Visa….

For those that booked the DVC member cruise leaving out of Southampton on 8-31-2026 and paid for it with their Chase Disney Visa PLEASE check your statements. We should be entitled to the 6 month no interest grace period for that charge. Myself and another Disboards member have been in touch with Member services regarding this issue with no resolution yet. We have both tried to resolve this with Chase multiple times to no avail, and have reached out to the Member Satisfaction team and Bill Diercksen. Member services has indicated that the matter is being investigated.

Kindly let me know if this cruise charge was correctly coded and if you are receiving the 6 month no interest charged promotion. Thank you for your time!

I have now been charged interest twice, totaling almost $200. Should @Grandmatoone and I the assume lack of response means others who booked the 2026 DVC Member Cruise on their Disney Visa received the interest free promo?

I will be calling DVC Member Services again today to see if we are any closer to a resolution. Being able to confidently state others received the promo would help.

I just received my statement as well. I too am erroneously being charged interest on my 2026 member cruise.

I, as well as CDKG have emailed Chase regarding this problem. Chase sent us both letters denying that this cruise qualified for the no interest promotion.

We both wrote to the DVC member satisfaction team as well as the leader of DVC, Bill Dierksen. We’ve been told that “they are working on it.” It’s been months now and we’ve not heard of any resolution.

Any input from fellow members would be most appreciated.

I’ve never figured out how and why certain things qualify for the 6 months interest free and those that don’t.

I’m sure it’s written somewhere, but these days when paying for something at Disney it’s more of a “if I get it great, if not oh well”. Which isn’t what I want when using a card for promotional benefits!

Since DVC is considered the travel agent, I wouldn't expect to get the interest free financing. It sucks, but that's how I read the information on how to get interest free on a cruise.

Historically, the MC has always received the promo. I received the promo myself when booking this year’s MC and believe the majority of members using their Disney Visa to book next year’s MC also received it. We seem to be an anomaly (an anomaly that has happened before and was corrected after several months of persistence). People using a travel agent to book a regular DCL cruise using their Disney Visa will get 6 months 0%.

We book the clients directly with DCL, no different than if you go to the website.

The DVC members cruise is considered a charter cruise and could be why they are not coding it the same way.

This makes no sense that we are not receiving this promotion. Furthermore nobody is replying to this thread other myself and CDKG. This makes me believe that the vast majority did receive the special promotion.

I would not suggest making that presumption.

There are over 600,000 members on this site - not everyone is comfortable sharing that kind of financial info in a public space. Impacted folks might be following and not commenting.

Some may be carrying a balance and not realizing any finance charges are including the charge for the cruise.

In the main 2026 MC thread where there are also posts about this, someone mentioned something Chase noted about the way the charge was coded. As a former IT person, I think it would seem to be almost impossible for the same type of entry (the MC cash transaction) to go through to Chase differently for different guests. Anyone using the DV on that booking day or weekend should have had the charge processed with the same type of transaction coding, so it would seem others might also be impacted.

When this happened in 2020, for the 2011 MC first booking day, the itinerary was out of PC to the Caribbean, similar to the 2025 MC, with possibly a lot more US-based guests bookings and therefore a lot more impacted guests. With 2026 returning to Europe and the two categories with the largest number of rooms (OV and Ver) still showing as “Available” rather than “limited availability”, and the possibility of more non-US-based guests bookings, it is possible the number of guests impacted with a CV is comparatively much lower, thus a smaller pool to be impacted.

Yes, still a very frustrating situation all around on many fronts.

And no, I don’t work for Chase or Disney. Just trying to look at it logically.
