Are they available at the Olympics??? They don't appear to be anywhere online.

They look to be sold out everywhere online (the adult sizes, anyway).

I'm only seeing the youth sizes too! My DD (who would need an adult size) would LOVE a pair.

The reason I am asking...one of our neighbors daughters is in Vancouver, as her husband's job had taken him there for about the last year...related to the olympics.

If they are selling them there...I would certainly try to ask my neighbor if she can pick up a pair. Heck..I would pay for M. to get a pair too!

I hope they get home soon...my dog loves to play with M's dog when the neighbors are sitting for the granddog!

Are they publicly available? I thought I heard Matt Lauer say they were "coveted" as only the bearers have them. I may have misheard him.

depending on how much you want to spend, you can find them on ebay

I checked ebay - the auction that just ended or is about to end was up to over $50. NOPE - that is not happening;)

Lora J - yes those are the ones...sold out in the adult sizes.

They were sold online and in Zellers and The Bay stores throughout Canada, starting last fall. They have been hard to find, selling out as soon as they hit the shelves - I think they have sold in excess of a million pairs. I have heard of people who had been looking for a while finding them recently, so if you know anyone anywhere in Canada who can check a store they may be able to find some for you,

Incidentally, Team Canada's mittens are a little different from the public mittens as they have a maple leaf and the rings on the back where the public mittens have only the rings. Torchbearer mittens are the same as the public mittens, except the public mittens have a fleece maple leaf on the front and the torchbearer mittens have a maple leaf made of rubber grip material on the front.

That link kidzmom posted says "one size fits all" is in stock. ???

I bought a pair in January at Zellers here in Canada for $10.00.

I will see if I can get over there tomorrow to see if they have any more left.

I was at a local Zellers today ,they have alot of adult size large/x-large.Let me know if someone needs a pair and i can pick some up on Tuesday(stores are closed on Monday)and send them out.

Thanks for the offer kellyla...I actually found a great Buy-it now on ebay this morning $15, with $6 shipping. At least I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off. (Some ebay sellers are really charging enormous shipping.)

There were a bunch more on ebay this morning than yesterday!

They were really hard to get anywhere , but the last two weeks they are all over the place here at the Bay and Zellers.

The mittens do have the rings on one side and a maple leaf on the other. I wish the sizing was better on them though. I bought a pair of large/XL and they are too big , bought the small /med adult and just fit them. The dd that is nine can not fit the kids size she fits the small/medium adult. :confused3

Bought the tussel hat in the adult one size fits all and it is almost too small for anyone but my dd too. Like to know who the models were for the clothes.

I meant that the athlete's mittens had maple leaves on the back with the rings (as well as the maple leaf on the palm, I guess)

I hear you on the sizes - I bought the zipper hoodies for my kids and I for the torch run and they were tiny - I had to go up a couple of sizes for each of us. Then I bought t-shirts for my nephews for Christmas and the boys 7-8 was bigger than the girls 14! The youth mittens were too small for my DD9 too.
