Those of you who do not have young children?

Bought at age 54, youngest child then 11. Just got back from 6 days in Florida with 3 of the nights at WDW. This was just the two of us trip and it was wonderful. Would have stayed longer but DH had to get back for work. Would never have stayed in such good accomodations if we had to pay cash for them and are really spoiled by the DVC ones. It just seems to be getting better as we get older.

No children here and we have added on 4 times. It is the best thing we have ever done. We have been able to take friends on golfing excursions and family to enjoy the parks. We love everything about it.

That's kind of what we were going for. But we're trying to have our first child right now. We're fairly new to DVC, but we've taken advantage of it so far. We'll be down in May for our 4th trip in a year. AP's really got their use.

We were 35 and 39 when we bought, and in the throes of trying to have a baby, which was ultimately not successful.

We have gone ourselves, we have brought friends and family, with & without children. We have enjoyed all the trips. They have all had different focuses, but all have been enjoyable.

Don't discount the DVC based on children. It can be great for adults too.

No munchkins here! Dh and I bought in 2001 or was it 2000? Anyway, we just love it. Taking family for the first time in Nov. Have a wonderful dniece who "needs" to go to Disney!!

Anyway we love it, and have added on once.

We were 37 & 32 when we bought and I totally agree. We don't have children but have really enjoyed DVC so far.

We bought when it first opened in 1991 when our children were young. Now they are older, but believe it or not we all enjoy it more now! Just the other day my 22 year old daughter told me she likes Disney more now than she did a few years ago. We have changed our vacation "style" over the years, but it's still, and always has been, our "second home". I feel so lucky that both my kids still want to vacation with us. A lot of our friends tell about how their kids hate to be with them and it makes me so sad. I really believe that because of our DVC ownership we've been able to take relaxed vacations to Disney every year and also have been able to take our kids to lots of different places too, and this is why they enjoy being together as a family. I know it sounds sappy, but it's true. The MORE vacation time we spend together the MORE we all enjoy it!!

we bought in on Oct., of `03, the very month of our youngest DS`s wedding!
It was a wedding present to ourselves. :cloud9: :teeth: After putting it off for so long, we wanted to give each other something that we always dreamed of, but couldn`t manage for so many years, for one reason or another. We gave our DS & DIL a honeymoon trip to aruba, and we gave ourselves, our hearts desire, Our DVC
Since then, our other son has gotten married, so we are anticipating many happy trips with our growing family :wizard: :goodvibes

I anticipate enjoying the points more when the kids are older.

Trying for the first child now. We should have many trips for the kids, then we'll still have DVC when they're older.

We don't have any kids, not having any either.
We bought at age 36 and plan on using DVC as long we are physically capable. We share it with other family members too.
It was a great decision for us !!! :teeth:

Bought DVC this year. My kids are 22,20,16 & 15. While they still enjoy diswney we really bought it for my DH and myself to enjoy as we get older. Haven't gone yet I'm planning on going to Ca in the summer with my bro & sis. Let yo know if they decide to join me next year. If not more points for me. hehehe :cool1:

We still have kids at home (13 and 6) but we bought DVC for ourselves more than anything :teeth: My 13 year old is already at the point where Disney is "uncool" and he's already informed us he doesn't want to go back next year. My 6 year old still loves it of course, but we bought enough points to enjoy one family trip and one "adults only" trip each year. The ultimate goal is to have enough points to spend a month or so each winter when we retire!

We joined 1 1/2 yr ago and taking our first DVC trip in July. We didn't even tell our four kids (37, 34, 24, 21) that we had purchased for a year. In July we are taking friends with children that will not be able to go on their own for many years. We also didn't want to miss the experiece with their children while they were young (6, 8). This is one reason we purchased. We also purchased so our grandchildren could go with us some more (14, 14, 10, 8), they have all been before. We also look forward to going by ourselves.
And last, I guess we will have to let the four adult children use the points someday :) We beleive and hope that our points will be put to good use for several decades.

We were in our 40's when we bought, DW and I just love going and relaxing.

I just turned 48 and my husband is 46 and we have no kids of our own. We just bought 150 points at BWV and have our first trip planned for December, 2006. We got a 1 bedroom at BWV and invited my sister and niece to come with us. I think we'll do that a lot in the future- invite family to join us. I'm sure we'll also use it by ourselves as our pattern has been to visit WDW twice each year on our own. Having the DVC membership just makes it easier for us to bring others with us.

We have children (10 and 13) and still take one DVC vacation a year without them....We really enjoy F&W in the fall but usually leave the kids at home. They come in the spring. Looking forward to more trips with groups of friends once the kids are older.

Our youngest is now 26 and has relocated to the East Coast of Florida. We still love using our points to HHI (although we recently purchased Marriott's Surf Watch Resort), but next year made ressies to OKW for two weeks (Jan-Feb). Will make another ressie for two weeks (Nov-Dec 2007) when available. We took advantage of the DVC discount on annual passes.

We bought after our kids were out of the nest and married with families of their own. Now they also are DVC members and we all love it. We also have several friends and family members that have decided to become members after their children were out of the nest. We love being there with our kids and grandkids and our friends and family. We also go just by ourselves too. We will never be sorry we bought it, we're only sorry we didn't do it sooner.

Michele

We decided to take the plunge, in large part due to your responses. We've already planned a Thanksgiving trip to SSR (which is tentative due to high school and airline schedules being unavailable) and a trip home to BWV in April. This is DH's and my 50th birthday year, and our 15th anniversary, so what more could we ask for!
