One important thing to lookout for is an email requesting personal info like usernames and passwords. Many of these claim some urgency regarding a made-up problem with your account. They are often very convincing and look totally authentic.

Yup, fortunately that is a pretty well known scam now (at least I hope it is!). I've received 'em, I've deleted 'em. I wonder how else the identity theft is going on.

With the gracious help of psharrock, we were able to recover 92% of my money from Paypal.

With the magic of Disney and brains of a couple of wise DVC members, Paypal didn't have a chance! All kidding aside, I honestly feel blessed that this came to a positive end. I was extremely lucky.

For those of you still using Paypal, just be very careful. I would hate for the same thing to happen to any of you. Because, I too sucessfully used Paypal since its inception without any problems. Then in a couple of years, I almost lost $3500. All from selling the family laptop on Ebay.

Needless to say, if anyone needs a positive reference for Paul, feel free to contact me.
