Look, I'm a patient girl, and even very polite, but those creeps that accost you in the middle of the mall - you know, with hand cream, perfume, HERMIT CRABS, windshield crack repairs, bourbon chicken, etc. - I wish they would all just leave me alone!!! Or is it just the mall I go to?

The one that bugs me is the guy that throws the plane or the helicopter in the air and then catched it. I'm afraid he's going to nail someone with it everytime.I tell him everytime "If that thing hits me that sign is going to say Meagans Toy Helicopters." But he still shootsit off in front of your face. GRRRRRR

I try to look the other way when I walk by those booths, no eye contact = no accosting. :)

They must work on commision. Very annoying.

I worked my way through school being a "perfume sniper".

These are the people that stand around and give you spritz of perfume if you ask

This happened to me last week. I was at the mall with a friend and we both had toddlers in strollers. He threw some round flying disk right on top of us and it landed on DS's stroller. It was very annoying!

I hate the person that wants to massage your head with some wire contraption. How many other people's heads has that touched and they want it to touch mine!! Gross!!

I forgot all about the stupid airplane guys. That sure could be dangerous if it hit someone in the eye.

The perfume snipers at our mall never wait to be asked for a spritz, they stick the bottle in your face and say "Care to try some Victoria's Secret perfume?" Sometimes they'll even start spraying before you have a chance to refuse. I know that's what they're paid to do, and I'm glad they're out there making a living, but they need to tone it down a bit.;)

Grinningghost - I think I know which mall you are referring to! I really hate the hand cream people. "Would you like to try some hand cream?" No Thanks, well can I ask you a question then? Uh I don't think so...........and I forgot to add that when you are running away from hand cream people, you then bump into the Hermit Crab stand!!!

Just tell them already have it . That usually stops them.

Yeah, the Galleria Mall! Yep, I sure do want to buy a Hermit Crab, whose shell is painted vibrant colors, for $65! Oh, tomorrow that price will be going UP $20??? Better buy it now then!

You should see how I slink in through Penney's, wait until the Hermit Place has another victim, then rush past to the Disney Store! lol :p

"Are you paying too much for Cable?"
"Do you have a crack in your windshield?"
"Let me show you this nail conditioner!"

GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE! Now I can't even walk the mall without being accosted by poor salespeople!

That "head massager" thing really bothers me........
#1--doesn't really look like it feels good
#2--probably dirty from someones unwashed hair Yuck:eek:
#3--even if I could stand it, I would be too embarassed to sit there with wire things scratching my head:faint:
#4--they look offended if you refuse.....too bad
#5--won't believe you if you say no to purchase if they "waste" their time

The hand cream people ...I just look away. One time, though, I did get suckered into buying it.....not bad smelling cream, and the nail files, etc that came with it were okay. Probably could have gotten it at Walmart or somewhere similar for much cheaper.(Even though if you say no, they will keep dropping price until I think I got the whole bunch of stuff for $7.)

I know they are only trying to earn a living, but I have been known to get irate with them. I have threatened the head thingy guy. "IF that thing touchs me I will slug you!" (seems to work! LOL!)

I also told off the hand lotion girl once. Sorry, but if you have to CHASE me down the mall chances are I did not want the stupid hand lotion!

Maybe we should all call our mall offices and express our displeasure. My mall has become so congested with these booths that I hate going there.

They drive me nuts! I especially hate it when I am talking on the phone as I walk by and they keep trying to stop me. Even when I show them the phone, they keep trying. The other one that bothers me is when I am carrying my fussy DD (9 months) in one arm and pushing the stroller with the other hand and they are trying to get me to stop. Hello, does it look like I have a minute to try your hand lotion? I was hoping it was just my mall, but it sounds like lots of people have to deal with this as well.

We don't have them. I have seen the plane people, but they have a little fenced off area. I've also seen perfume people inside some of the fancier dept stores (they usually ignore me - I just don't look like a buyer and they're right!).

We do have people taking surveys that are quite annoying though.

Since I'm fluent in French, I've been known to "pretend" that I can't speak English....that seems to work pretty well, unless they speak French too:rolleyes:

We have them at our malls, but they seem to be respectful. I just ignore them and look in a different direction.

I've seen that at my local mall and thought the same thing. Like I want someone's greasy oil from their hair in mine.
